  4. I happen to have one of those flag models too, be sure to post pictures afterwards Id really like to see them! It will be interesting to see just how much the NP3 fills in the flag engraving. I think it would look spiffy if you took some flat black paint to the flag afterwards as well, it would be a good contrast to the NP3. or maybe even red white and blue!
  5. That looks great SD! Great attention to detail and a fine job indeed! Im not sending mine for refinishing so if I go through with it Ill have put up with the shiny aluminum look -Yuk- Another question for you if you dont mind, When installing the aftermarket extended carriers Ive noticed a difference in how much the carrier sticks out of the bottom of the receiver. Some stick out as much as the stock ones do and some end up hanging well below.....Ive been adjusting them to hang out no lower than the original configuration by slightly bending the rear of the carrier where it touches the trigger guard. Is adjustment normal? Seems to me like a low hanging carrier is just asking to get hung up on gear and clothing..
  6. Thanks for chiming in Stranger, Ive read about your tube polishing.... either here or on another forum. Ill give it go this week and see how it does. As always, thank you! your an asset to the community! Are carriercomp springs/wolf round or square profiled?
  7. Im good with a Dremmel tool.......I just lack the bawlz... ...and I have some Aluma-blue but it wears off so quick....
  8. Lots of port work done to M2's out there for 3-gun but does anyone do it to the M4? Ive gone through 2 pair of gloves now (its cold outside) the port on my M4 is SHARP! anyone have the same problem?
  9. I have little experience installing extended magazine tubes and spring on the M4 platform, I currently have done so on 4 Benelli M4s, 1 M3 and a few other shotgun brands. However I now have a box full of springs of all shapes and sizes to play with. On the M4 I have installed 3 metal tubes and one in titanium. Ive noticed differences in the Benelli stock 5 rnd springs. Some are longer, thicker ga. and the shape of the spring round vs square. (all probably depending on the manufacture date of the gun) Ive seen a few differences in aftermarket springs as well. Daves metal works comes with a square profiled spring in his extension kits for example, and Freedom Fighter Tactical came with a rounded profile spring. The combination of the round spring profile and titanium tube make for a pleasantly quiet loading experience while the square spring profile and metal tube combination leaves you with the "nails on a chalkboard" feel. Ive used rounded profile springs in the metal tubes and it is "more quite" but not as quite as the titanium tubes. As far as strength goes, the metal tubes are superior over the titanium ones but twice the weight and sometimes 3 times the price. Ive had problems with spring size in the past and not being able to fit the advertised amount of ammunition into the magazine after the install. Ive been down every road, swapping out springs, leaving the 5 rnd spring in (only to have feeding problems at the range,) a cut here, a snip there...leaving the spring retainer sticking out 1/4 inch ect. I think Ive tried it all and each project seems to need its own individual fix or solution. So I ask you my fellow Benelli Brothers what has worked for you? Is there a perfect spring out there? Is there a perfect out the box spring and tube combo?

  17. Here's another kicker....I just tried the A&S trigger guard assembly in my other M4 and it has less effort doing a HDSOC..
  18. Been looking around for 18.5's and the prices are withing a few hundred of the 14"er's......almost just worth spending the extra and be done with it...?
  19. Thank you all! This is great info, especially for someone trying to decide what route to take as far as a full replacement tube or extension. It keeps options open for later
  20. My plan is to get the two rnd extension because as I understand it the standard 5 rnd tube that came on my M4 is the same one used on the 14" model. This way all I have to do is take off the extension and long barrel and put on the short barrel without the extension and nut and Im good to go?
