ivox Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Just purchased an M4. Should I lubricate right out of the box? Likewise, how often should I lubricate? The manual indicates that the only oil to use is the Benelli branded lube. Is this correct? What is recommended? Discuss... Quote

Unobtanium Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 TW25B works well for me, although I am now experimenting with Froglube on my AR. Lube the M4s90 like you would an M4/M16. Quote
StrangerDanger Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Don't lube the pistons or ARGO system at all unless you like a lot of smoke. You should grease the hammer and disconnector hooks. Heavy lube on the BCG rails. Moderate on the bolt itself and where the tail of the BCG link. Light surface coating on interior of receiver and on the body of the BCG. Metal surfaces should receive a light dry to the touch coating. Quote
Super33 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Any manufacturer will recommend only their brand of whatever it is they're selling. Just get a good lube, it doesn't have to be Benelli. Obviously you want to lube where metal rubs against metal. Good luck. Quote
BigHat Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I'd take it apart, clean off any preservative, learn a bit about how it goes together and lube as noted above. Quote
