Centuriator
Reasonable offers will be considered. The longer it remains unsold the greater will be the temptation to keep it.
StrangerDanger
Looks like you have an actual NP3 plated M4 instead of the Cerakote model. An important distinction for potential buyers. I don’t believe the factory is making anymore with NP3.
Centuriator
Thanks, can you let me know why you think it is NP3 plated, not Cerakote? That would be good news, to be sure. I just bought it a month or so ago from a small dealer in Iowa, so maybe it is one of the older ones and was just NIB from those days? Or, let me ask this, is there a way I can calculate the "born on" date from the serial number?

Centuriator
https://forums.benelliusa.com/showthread.php/15713-Date-Serial-Number-Lookup-for-Benelli-Shotguns OK, based on the information at this link, if I'm reading it correctly, it appears my M4 is stamped with a CS and since CC is 2008, it seems mine was made in 2024?? What am I doing wrong? Here are pics:

Centuriator
So.. apparently nobody here knows that the dating system is after 2008. That's a bit surprising. Edited July 25, 2018 by Centuriator
benelliwerkes
The "A" series of dating the Benelli's used 16 second letters in their codes, "B" series used 15 second letters in the codes, skipping some letters (highlighted) that have also been skipped to date in the "C" series of date coding. The "CS" would be a 2017 mfg. date code if the C series is going to follow the template of the B series coding. Centuriator
THANK YOU .... So, clearly not a NP3 coated, but Cerakoted model. I appreciate the fact you posted useful information.
StrangerDanger
My mistake, I completely missed the receiver extension being black indicating its a Cerakote model.
