I just bought a super nova in October. I took it out dove hunting six times always shot Kent 2 3/4” #6 shot out of it. This past weekend I took it out and shout 10 Eurasian doves before having my barrel blow up on me. I always keep the gun really clean I never dropped it in the mud nothing in the barrel. Just not sure what happened. Maybe it was a bad shell. I called Benelli they said they won’t cover it and now I’m working with Kent to see if they can do anything. I’m devastated my first gun I ever bought and this happens. Any tips on what to do before I have to buy a new gun or barrel? IMG_8037.thumb.jpeg.948e69ba7f29400589e5b5349dd27d2c.jpegIMG_8038.thumb.jpeg.5bce6f5f0e0503eef5bc66636fdde053.jpegIMG_8025.thumb.jpeg.d97ac645ce23940c7a71c971f0bcc3a5.jpegIMG_8021.thumb.jpeg.9bec81bd7c3c72d9cac4163b28fc776c.jpegIMG_8026.thumb.jpeg.a22b275cd3dd8addc2ed82284d68b739.jpeg

Other than the smart ass sounding answer of Stop shooting Kent, no.

Partial squib or stuck wad (which is sort of the same thing I suppose).

Were your gun not camo I'd suggest buying a Huglu barrel from Carlson's, but obviously it won't match.  Buying a new replacement camo barrel may not make sense money wise, compared to the cost of the whole gun.  Used barrels show up on Ebay and Gunbroker all the time, but generally not camo ones.

Yes they said it was an ammo issue. So I spoke to Kent and they wanted me to send them the barrel so they could do their investigation but Benelli said they keep and destroy the barrel because it’s a safety issue. I ended up spending 300$ for a new barrel and totally got shafted by Benelli. I didn’t want to pay for it but I did t want the gun to go to waste with no barrel. Really messed. Up. Put a sour taste in my mouth. So I am in 900+$ for my Benelli super nova pump.🤯

Not being rude to you but how did you get shafted by Benelli?  You had some sot of barrel obstruction and thats not a Benelli issue.

If I understand the OP correctly, the bbl popped .. he sent it to Benelli, they said it was the ammo but wouldn’t give the bbl back. The ammo co said they needed the bbl to determine if it was their fault but he can’t because Benelli wouldn’t give it back so his only option was to pay out of pocket to get a new bbl.

That must be a new policy. I had a bulge in the choke area of my 1995 era SBE back when it was fairly new. I sent it in to Benelli who was able to see wadding material in the stretch marks. They contacted Federal who said send it to them. They inspected it and saw the same thing. I then sent the rest of the box of ammo to them. It took about 6 weeks but they covered the barrel and even sent me another full box of ammo.

Always listen for odd sounding shots when firing. They are easy to tell if you are alone, but admittedly really difficult (if not impossible) if you are in a busy public dove field.

Dang, I am hoping everyone was okay?

I would have spent $200 on a stamp and cut it down myself... would make an excellent HD boomstick at that length.

I hope the ammo company steps up and takes care of you. Looks like a stuck wad/obstruction for sure. Wow.

FWIW, I have over 10,000 on an old Nova and it runs great. Don't give up on Benelli's. I do wish they would have told you they would not return the barrel before sending it in.
