  1. This is more a documentary of my personal evolution. I am not an instructor, "expert", or Holiday Inn frequenter, and would be happy to hear how I can improve. That said, a big reason for my fumble on the live drill is I loaded the shot card mixed, when I typically leave it all slug. It tripped me up. Normally, its all buck in the gun, and all slug for select slug on the card.

  2. I like what I’m seeing. I spent 3 hours in a defensive training class a couple weeks ago. And while I thought we we were gonna shoot like crazy (and we did), half of our time was spent on manipulation and reloading. Our trainers motto was “if you ain't shooting, you’re reloading”. And I didn’t understand at first. But he explained that most go to the range and load up their gun, and continue to unload til empty. Put the gun down and wash, rinse, repeat. Guilty as charged! He would have us hit a couple targets and the call out a reload mid shot, and we would have to top the gun off while keeping a timer on for the reload and back on target. The first few times were really bad, I mean like really bad. I was ejecting unspent shells from the chamber, dropping shells onto the ground. A comedy of errors. But we were just not training that way. We learned a valuable lesson that day, and a lot of what he was teaching I’m seeing right here in this video. Awesome video, and for those that aren’t practicing this way, you should incorporate this into your range session. We now practice manipulation and reloading into each and every range session. Valuable info here! Thanks, Garza

  3. not sure what you’re referring to. the m4 can be field stripped without tools when either the iwc and ava mounts attached.

  4. Thanks for the post! Need to almost drill this in your head every time - when you're not shooting you're reloading . .

  5. This is a very old post and alot has evolved over the years, but co-witnessing is very doable with micro red dots with the factory iron sights still usable if dot fails. Crappy pictures but you get the idea.

  6. Yeah i would be pretty mad about that. Heck that a 2k gun and i want it to be pristine. I would be super pissed at myself for not seeing it when first got it. But hell your excited and can't wait to get it home I'll bet ( at least that how i was lol ). I know you can get cerakoted but shouldn't have to go that route. Shame benelli want more accommodating. Hope it works out man. All you can do is learn from the mistake. I know I'll check mine thoroughly for to this story.

  9. I ordered one of these, got it today and it's very nice. It doesn't really look like a gun case which is what I wanted, very non-descript. I am going to put a couple LaCrosse patches on it as it's my new "racquet case", lol; hidden in plain sight! Made in the U.S.A. is a bonus as well.

  10. I don't know where they are made. I have a few of them and have been pleased with the quality. For long gun cases it's either these or Pelican for me. Made in USA is certainly preferred. I do try hard to not buy anything made in China.

  11. Been waiting since the beginning of March for my PVS14 night vision monocular in white phosporous. That finally came in about two weeks ago. Ordered an MTEK vented carbon fiber helmet in April and that came in about a week ago. Bought a MAWL in April along with some of the Wilcox G24 mount for the helmet, those came in pretty much immediately. So now I've been planning out night hikes around the mountain most nights with my chocolate Labrador. We creep with zero light output and stalk some mule deer for fun. Moonless nights are really fun. The Milkyway is amazing under night vision. It's fun to see who has surveillance cameras since they stick out like a sore thumb under IR. Photos thru the monocular with my cellphone are crap compared to how it really looks in person. All that grainy looking detail is gone in person. I've done 2 hour hikes with it on and it has been quite comfortable. No neck pain issues from having the helmet on which is surprising, since hardhats at work bother me.
