  2. Just purchased a m4. I'm looking to find some of the best components for my build. I'm trying to find the best/best suggested components: Charging handle and Handguard. For charging handle I see there are a few options: GG&G, FFT, RX arms, Briley, etc. Is there any major difference between a rotating and non-rotating handle? I like the look of the GG&G or Rx Arms the best. In my opinion, the 3/4" looks the best. For handguard, I'm stuck between Agency Arms and the 8" Briley. Both are nice. The major difference I have found between the two is that the Briley covers the barrel if you were to flip the gun to load whereas the agency arms does not cover the top of the barrel. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thank you So far my build is: Trijicon RMR 3.25 MOA Type 2 with the ScalarWorks RMR mount. BFG Vickers Padded Sling

  4. “I’m a gunsmith”..”are you a gunsmith? People like this who are legends in their own minds feel compelled to self-proclaim & pronounce themself as being superior-validated on a particular subject matter when their opinion is not shared. These are the same people who stand alongside & hold hands with all those people that proclaim they were standout athletes in high school and/or college but were kept from stardom because…”the coach hated me”. World champion & expert recognized shooters are often sought out to test various firearm items, including newly introduced optics & scopes that..”they’ve never had their hands on”..which according to kenw111 makes their words “useless”.

  5. Long time Benelli lover and owner of 5 M4s (yes i know thats a bit crazy), a M1Super90 and 3 benelli M2 tactical. Decided to pick up the gen2 Beretta 1301 tactical. Before testing fully I wanted to take it apart to see about the robust-ness of the system. Definitely about 85% or bit less as robust as my M4 or M2's .... buuuuut, its design necessitates this, because its very lightweight. Faster than the M4? Oh hell yes. Had so much fun with it, ...I thought its light weight would make recoil a good bit more brutal, but not that i could tell. At $1550 (what i paid) i dont have to buy a +2 tube or full tube, its already there. actually what LOOKS like a +2 on the end of the Beretta is actually a plastic cover, the 7 round tube is single and continuous inside it. 10 out of 10 times, ill be taking my beretta 1301 out for spins over any of my benellis. Its just that enjoyable honestly. Buuuuut, since Beretta owns benelli, the $$$$$$$ goes to the same folks, so Im sure they dont care.

  6. I'd stick with the stippled OEM handguards, for now... Tango does great work as do others I imagine. I've been riding the struggle bus with a Mesa Tactical 13" Truckee on one of my M4's. I hate the way that thing installs. But it does offer a forward mounting solution with the use of a HotButton. I don't want any barrel shadowing present since I swap out my white light with an IR head for use with my PVS-14 helmet setup. If the light illuminates the front of the barrel and front sight tower, it washes out my view thru the monocular. I had to cut up the rail to get the offset mount to work and bore holes thru the center of the MLOK so I could pass the socket of the HotButton thru the rail and loom the wire internally. One positive about the rail is I can hold the shotgun farther forward than the OEM handguard which fits my body a little better. The direction of the HotButton has ben an experiment I've been doing for the past year or so, and I've found it to be the best weapon light activation system I've had. Momentary and constant on controls and no risk to my thumb during the 12 gauge recoil. Pulling the button to the rear is much more comfortable than reaching forward and pressing.

  8. Follow up on this thread: I contacted Briley tech service and they sent me a CAD drawing of the One Shot with measurements. It was a 1:1 sketch so I printed it, cut it out and using it as a template it looked like it would fit. Ordered the One Shot extension and it came in last week. it FITS! For clearance I have to install the One Shot extension first then screw in the Carlson choke. Just enough clearance doing it this way. Now that it it fits I had to address the issue of not getting the last round in the magazine. Thanks to the info from @Birdog19 post in this thread I was able to shorten the magazine spring without a lot of trial and error. Shortened the spring to 16" sticking out of the magazine and it fit 8 rounds but it felt like the last round was binding the spring just a bit. Cut the spring back to 15" and it leaves some clearance after the last round. Good to Go! I'll hit the range tomorrow and runs dome rounds through it. Pretty happy with the outcome though.

  10. Im a gunsmith, and own more optics and red-dots than almost everyone on this board combined (not literally but close to be sure). Opinions? I dont care about anyone's opinions, only facts and logic (and wisdom). Comparing a Kia and a Caddy? well BOTH ARE JUNK, .....however a Kia is statistically more reliable than a junk american made Caddy. bad analogy there honey. In your poor analogy however a cheapo KIA IS 100000% better than a junk made unreliable Caddy.

  12. its just a storage compartment for battery etc. / lost charging handle. doesnt sound great? who prefers plastic over quality leather? Last leather item i made was a $1200 scabbard for a top quality AK47 made out of green alligator.

  13. I own 15 Eotechs (on ARs and HK762, and SCAR17)..., ....but id have to go FULL BLOWN FOOL to think of putting one on any shotgun!!!! I see peeps putting one on a benelli etc, and my sphincter puckers, ........ why not put an elephant in the back seat of a VW bug,.

  14. If you dont know why putting an EOTECH on the top of any shotgun is a HORRIFIC idea, ....then you have issues nobody can fix.

  15. 1. equal build quality (better in fact since i own an RMR) 2. comes with pic rail already on red-dot 3. i dont have to remove the existing pic rail 4. i dont need to lower my eyes closer to bore axis to view 5. far far far far less $$$$$$ Since youve never had HANDS ON with one, nothing you say has ANY WEIGHT, .......NONE. You, like most "tacti-cool" entities always think "more $$$$ = more better" , but such is the case of superficial minds.
