  1. One model you left out is as SBE 3 - 3" new to the lineup this year. Over the M2 you would be getting Comfortech 3, combtech, Easy Bolt, new carrier latch design. At $1600 this would b e a very nice offering and is a once or two less weight than a SBE 3 - 3.5. Your concerns about POA, extract are not a concern, what is important is how the gun fits you and using the correct shells. The SBE 3 - 3" should require 1 oz. minimum loads. IMO - all new models are moving into the SBE & Ethos chassis and are moving out of the M2 chassis. Please PM me if you need details.
  2. No special break in on a Benelli 20 gauge, the shells you have will shoot perfect. I will say just insure your bolt and rails inside the receiver are clean. When reinstalling your bolt put 1 - 2 light drops of CLP on each side of the bolt where it is contacting the rail within the receiver. After servicing over 900 Benelli's now, I have never had a gun that does not "Cycle Like New". Please reach out at anytime if you have any questions - congratulations on the purchase of your Benelli.
  3. One gun you did not mention is the Ethos BEST, this is a real hidden gem in the lineup. Mid rib, more capacity than a SBE 3, lighter than a SBE 3, will not shoot 3.5, new sight window in fore end. Ethos BEST leans a little more upland, SBE 3 leans a little more Waterfowl, both great segment crossover hunting. Ethos VS Ethos Super Sport - mid rib vs high rib, non ported vs ported, 26,28 vs 28,30, Ethos with exception of Ethos BEST is wood, Ethos BEST has SBE 3 stock, Comfortech 3 & Combtech, Ethos Wood has Progressive comfort, Ethos Super Sport has extended choke tubes. IMO - most lineup changes have additions to the SBE & Ethos Chassis, reductions in traditional M2 Chassis.
  4. It is believed that seeing your target is one component of becoming proficient in shooting a shotgun at moving targets. How your shotgun fits you would be a determining factor in how each guns patterns. Most well made shotguns used for hunting, there are exceptions, shoot a 60/40 pattern high which allows the shooter to see the target rather than cover the target. The M2 should shoot 60/40 if you sense that it does not and you would like it to, review the Benelli Video, "How to adjust drop and cast on the Super Black Eagle 3". This is a great resource to assist in understanding cause and effect adjustments to a Benelli shotgun.
  5. The Super Vinci is a great gun, I very much like this gun as well, I noticed very little muzzle rise when shooting this gun. I am delighted that you found a model that fits not only your needs but how the guns fits you. The Vinci does have a tendency to collect debris and powder on the bolt, you may want to keep this area clean by removing the bolt frequently, anticipated recoil spring life will be about 8 years.
  6. Hi Mike, I would very much like to shoot your gun, the pattern work that I have documented as well as the patterns that are provided by Rob Roberts in the Waterfowl Edition show a perfect 60/40 pattern high. This how the gun was designed. It would be very interesting to see how your gun is fitted to you. If you are unhappy with your Benelli in a RMA and have them inspect your gun and test fire it. All well made sporting shotguns shoot 60/40 patterns some Trap type guns shoot 70/30. It appears by your message we really do not have a disagreement, you admit that your SBE 3 shoots high, I concur, it should. Please let me know how I can help you. a great Benelli video is out on you tube on you to adjust and change your drop on your SBE 3. Mark
  7. You bring up a great point, this is why you choose a great dealer. A elite dealer would have either replaced the gun or sent it to Benelli for you at no cost. Thank you for introducing such a important topic.
  8. Left Handed Ethos is currently not in catalogue. More models are being added to the SBE & Ethos platform.
  9. Could you provide a better description of "Hanging up". Is your extractor functioning properly, you could test this without firing the gun. Were you shooting Low Brass shells.
  10. Please send me a PM, I will try to walk you through it. Basically you will need to remove the stock from the gun then reaching into the reciever with a fine tool and depress the trigger guard latch. If you have another 828U you could look at that would be og help, otherwise I can get you a few photos Monday.
  11. Your M2 should be set up with the B Drop Lock Plate as well as the B Drop Shim. You will need to use the C or D Drop Lock Plate & corresponding Drop Shim. This will lower your POA because you will now be looking down the rib correctly. It's important to remember your Benelli does not shoot high - you are shooting it high. Here is a great Benelli video to guide you through the changes.
  12. Is your Cartridge Drop Lever spring installed correctly or missing.
  13. Mike what are you looking to get for the barrel. I have been looking for one. Thanks Mark
  14. Your carrier latch is out of adjustment or bent. You have the updated carrier latch. Thus it is releasing multiple shells from the magazine. I would insure your magazine tube, spring and follower are very clean as well.
  15. Did you add a extended magazine?
  16. Brian, If you would like to PM me I would be glad to walk you through this.
  17. Yes sir!
  18. The New SBE 3 20 gauge actually weighs the exact same as the M2 20 Gauge comparing 26" barrel's. There is some key differences: ComforTech 3 vs ComforTech Combtech cheeks pad on SBE 3 Easy Locking Bolt System SBE 3 New Carrier Latch Design on SBE 3, ease of loading, durability Different Triger Guard Different Safety size IMO - key segment into the SBE & Etho's platforms.
  19. Please let me know if you still need a Super Nova Tactical, pistol grip, 18.5 Ghost 499.99
  20. Quite often these are just plastic covers which may have been covered with the camo wrap material. A good Gun Smith Punch or similar is what I use. The cover will need to driven from the inside out which will require removing the barrel from the gun.
  21. This sound like your carrier spring and plunger are not in the correct position in your trigger assembly. Did you disassemble the trigger group at anytime recently. Are you saying that when you remove your barrel from the receiver every shell is falling into the chamber without obstruction?
  22. MDOG, all PM's returned : StangerDanger always has spot on insights as well as great knowledge - cause and effect which can only learned by experience in handling and observing Benelli operating systems over many years. Great contributor to this forum!
  23. Your recoil spring is wore beyond tolerance, you could replace it with a OEM Benelli spring, however with a M2 I always prefer with exception of a 20 gauge like replacing these with a Wolff OEM Power spring which you should be able to purchase from Midway USA or from a reseller on EBAY. If you sense your magazine spring is getting softer replace this as well, typically this not needed. If you can not source parts or need any additional information please PM me, more than happy to help.
  24. Not meaning to disrespectful here, in review of more than 25 SBE Classics & SBE 3's in inventory, every Benelli has the same offset. I currently am working on 2 SBE II's 2 M1 Super 90's, 2 SBE 3's, 2 Franchi Affinity 3's, they all have the same offset. I am including a photo of a un fired SBE 3. SBE 3.
  25. My recommendations: Discontinue Ghost loading Replace Carrier Latch Remove 5 shot extension, reinstall OEM magazine tube and OEM Spring Why: Some/most extension builders are not revising the Magazine Springs to meet requirements to not only function with the product line but this in consideration with the Gun Manufacturers Carrier Latch Design and strength. Most Carrier Latches I replace, many per year have one thing in common, extended magazine tubes. I build M4 with magazine extensions as well using the correct parts and calibrated magazine springs. Stranger Danger and Steve Rose are great resources on this forum how to do this correctly.
