  1. Laser products is the original name Surefire went under.
  2. CLP is great stuff. I've used it on my Nova and M1 and never had a problem. Both have seen extensive use on the range and been carried on duty.
  3. Comes with spring, and all the parts
  4. How new is the gun? I have been told it needs to be broken in well. I have a friend who went to armorers class and benelli says there is a weight limit to what can be mounted on an M1.
  5. Speedfeed makes a 13" LOP stock for the M1. Very nice product
  6. Cals sporting armory is a decent source also. Do a google search
  7. Speedfeed makes a shorter stock. You do lose the sling attachment. It is very nice and is a much shorter length of pull. I am going to get one for my M1 in the future
  8. I also have the TacStar. It works well and fits well.

    how to stop rust

I've had good luck with "Inhibitor" Tom Knapp sells some of the versions on his site. The oil is pretty thick and if left to set a while it stays in place very well.
  10. I use a traditional rod, patches and bronze brush. I also use break parts cleaner to hose it out.
  11. Love my M1. I will definatly be qualifying with it this year to carry on duty.
  12. You can send me a message. I am a dealer in products from Laser Devices and have mounts in stock for the Benelli's They are rock solid, and work well. I have them on my Nova and M1S90, never had a problem with one shooting loose.
  13. I'm not 100% sure but, Shotguns are not considered assault rifle's under the import laws. They do not have the evil features like detachable magazines, flash hiders bayo lugs . They were never exempt from importation. Weapons like the AK, the FAL etc were restricted by both configuration and by name.
  14. I decided to try something a bit different. I ordered one of Laser Devices 9v series lights to use as a weapon light on shotgun. well, the light is the same size as my SF Z3. The light was ordered with a coiled wire paddle switch, the package is a nice box that has a foam cut out for the switch, lamp and light body with head attached. Of course instruction and warranty sheets are included. Specs on the light are HA type III, in a black phosphate finish. The light is available with either lexan or glass lens (I ordered glass). The overall length is the same as my SF Z3. The head appears to be smaller in length but is the same diameter. lamps look like the SF MN series in design and the reflector is fixed to the head of the light. Inside the head is a red rubber gasket that helps to act as a shock isolation by cushioning the base of the lamp as well as a larger outer spring that cushions the base of the lamp (think of the outer spring on a SF lamp but on the reverse side). The lights are warranted water resistant to 20 meters.O ring seals are way larger than others I have seen from various manufacturers including SF. The outside of the body has heavy knurled rings with checkering that make it extremely "grippy" and there is almost no way you'll lose control of it even with slippery wet hands. It was shipped with 3 123 batteries that are house branded (no country of origin on label). Set up is pretty straight foreward, unscrew the head and insert the lamp , screw the head back on ( there is some resistance due to the shock isolation system). batteries load from the rear of the body only as there is a bevel in front preventing loading from the front ( this is important in a true weapon light system ). when three batteries are loaded the last battery hangs out about 1/3 of the way, screw on the rear switch that also completes the body and your ready to go. I mounted the light to my shotgun using one of the Laser Devices mounts made for the model shotgun I have , it mounts up easily and rock solid. later after the sun went down I found a quiet secluded place in my patrol district where I could play with the light a bit . I compared it to my Z3 with P90 lamp. The LD light is easily the equal in brightness, but the LD seemed to have a bit more throw due to the beam being a bit more narrow. LD claims that the lights are "focusable" for spot or flood by turning the head. I found that turning the head caused a large donut and central black spots as well as introducing artifacts, LD litarature included with the light says that having the head screwed all the way down will provide the tightest spot. I would imagine this also provides the best seal for the light. I will probably never defocus the light. LD offers a host of switching options mostly geared to the tactical "Operator" including 2 and three way toggles, coiled and straight chords, as well as a tactical clickie. Bodies are available in standard 1" tube or with "ARMS" throw lever mounts integrated in the bodies. 3V/6V/9V bodies are also available. Suggested retail of the OP9 with glass lens and coiled wire paddle is $165.00 Suggested retail of the OP9 with push button clickie is $151.00 (both with glass lenses). lexan is slighly lower priced. Now the bad. PILA cells will not fit . The tube is machined so well there is not enough "play" for the PILA cells to fit, it's just too tight. 123's fit perfect and have no up and down play at all. This is a good thing for a weapon light as you want your batteries to stay in contact and not have a uneeded battering. This combined with the fact that the batteries can not be removed from the front make for a very well engineered weapon light. all in all I am very impressed with the system. Also mounted a Surefire LM90 on my M1 super 90 very cool
  15. shotguns are not really considered an assault weapon by the Guvm't. All benelli shotguns are made in Italy, and none of them are required to have fewer than the 10 "named" imported parts because only guns with a pistol grip/flash hider/ bayonet lug/detachable box magazine are in that catagory [ 09-05-2004, 10:00 AM: Message edited by: madecov ]
  16. I have the same gun as mic, have not had time to shoot it yet though. I'm mounting an LM90 on it, then Practice a lot. If all is well it will be my duty weapon.
  17. I would re dissasemble it and then reassemble again. You obviously didn't seat something properly. Otherwise it is difficult to tell without visual aides
  18. I traded for an older H&K marked version of the M1. It has the older ghost rings. When I received the gun it had the rear sight set all the way to the left. I centered the sight and will test fire this week (I hope) . I want to use this gun for a duty weapon and hope it functions well . This gun does not have any chokes or a threaded barrel. If things are not quite right with it I may send it off to Vang for a magic treatment, actually I may send t off anyway to have him do his magic on it. 19. Will the LPA ghost ring rear sight work with the older style non LPA front ? The LPA sites are tallerbut the rear seems to have a lot of elevation adjustments.
  20. I traded for a pre owned super 90 tactical, serial number 232xxx. This is an H&K import with the older H&K ghost rings. No manual included (one on the way from Benelli) but until it gets here I have a few questions 1) How are the older ghost rings adjusted for windage and elevation? The screws are **** tight and I don't want to bugger the screws. 2) Bolt removal ? how do you do it to clean the **** thing? The charging handle prevents the bolt from sliding out of the receiver. Any help would be appreciated benelli photo
  21. yesterday at tje local Police supply shop I had the opprotunity to speak with the Benelli sales rep. In the course of the conversation I mentioned that while I love my Nova, it was a bit long in the pull for me. He mentioned that the stcok was designed so that up to 1" could be removed and still (with fitting) use the factory recoil pad AND you could still use a recoil reducer if you wanted. Has anyone had this done by a smith? My local shop has a smith who will charge about $50.00 to do it. The benelli rep said they would also do it the factory service center in about 10 days but had no price but said it would be more than $50.00
  22. No surprise, the rating of 2+ is for the 3 1/2" shells.
  23. I have the same NOva, with extension. For me it's an on duty shotgun. I added a light mount and flashlight. I think I found a place to order a sling, I might get one in about 2 weeks.
  24. Benelli said this one was built in 1995. What bothers me (a little) is that there is no choke tubes, and that the seller claims the barrel is not threaded. Benelli Customer service says that there were a few that did not come with interchangeable chokes. I would imagine that it has a permanenet choke inside and was made only as a LEO type of gun.
  25. It's the age, one was built before the sept assault weapon ban the other was built after. Pre ban guns can have any type of the banned evil features, Post ban are limited to capacity if they have a pistol grip as the grip is one of the evil features. In about 10 weeks it won't matter as the ban sunsets. Then there will pre ban's Post Bans, Pre sunset, post sunset, If the ban is reenacted AFTER the sunset there will be a whole bunch of confusion
