  2. I got a LOT of problems with you people!
  3. Just be easy with that cayenne pepper. A few more sprinkles would have put this one over the top.
  4. Teal & Mallard sous vide with spicy @pple and pear chutney... with bacon on top! Best recipe yet! Recipe: Duck Season breasts with salt, pepper, season salt, garlic powder and oregano... or whatever flavors you like. Vacuum pack 4-6 breasts between two slice of bacon. Using a crock pot, bring water to a temp of about 140-150 degrees. Cook sealed packs for about 4 hours, not letting the temperature exceed 140 at any time. Chutney Peel and slice two @pples and two pears. Dice one sweet onion. Pour some olive oil into a large saucepan and add the onions with salt/pepper Cook onions until clear and soft. Add 1/2 cup of @pple cider vinegar and @pples and pears. Cook until @pples and pears begin to soften and release water. Add about two cups brown sugar, some cayenne pepper, cinnamon, garlic powder, and onion powder. Let the mixture simmer stirring occasionally until the sauce is a syrup and the fruits are soft. Remove the breasts and bacon from the vacuum bags, draining off the water. Place the bacon strips in a hot skillet and cook until crispy. Cook the breasts in the bacon grease two or three at a time, just searing each side until golden brown and firm. It only takes about 30 seconds per side. Remove the breasts and allow to rest while you chop the bacon into bits. Plate as they or slice the breasts on a bias and spoon the chutney on top. Top it off with the bacon bits and EAT! ****ing forum filter are pissing me off!
  5. A hard day on the river today. Ice kept sliding into the decoys and sweeping them away. Saw a few birds, but the ones that committed came right in. Trying some divers in the AM
  6. Ignore it and otherwise stay on the right side of the law.
  7. Can't wait for the Kwanza post!
  8. Hitting a different spot tomorrow AM. I hope our luck holds.
  9. Thanks to a combination of recent cold weather timed perfectly with our 2nd split the birds are out of the timber and swamps and back on the main lakes and rivers. We hunted a feeder creek and set up on the edge of the ice. A trick I learned a few years back and it has paid dividends.
  10. Finally we have some birds here! Limited out early and left them pouring in there to rest up for next week.
  11. The Nova uses a bottom loaded detent and spring. It's a buggar to get out and back in, but it's a simple matter of getting it all out and reversing the crossbolt. I did one years ago. Don't want to do another.
  12. You can upload pics to your forum profile
  13. That has also been proposed and apparently fallen on deaf ears as well. We've also seen our own accounts deleted just for reporting the spammers. It's happened to me a couple of times.
  14. There are a number of things that can be done, but apparently it would require some changes to forum software. I'm not sure if the limitations are in financing or ability, but we appear to be stuck at blocking keywords like N|ke and |pod and restricting the abilities of new members to post pictures and URL's.
  15. Ditzy morning show host works the gobbler call.

  17. You've got my number, so just give me a shout whenever you want to check it out or whatever. Is Loyd still sea ducking? Sean and I would love to go with someone one of these days.
  18. Oops. I almost forgot. Are you still watching those purchases? There was an interesting one the other day.
  19. Thanks, Doug. This will be my second season with smokeless Savage ML's. My first one wasn't drilled quite straight on the receiver, causing some scope cant, so it went back to Savage after last year's season. The replacement was perfect. They even shipped a test target to prove the full range of adjustment. I have shot the two of them a total of perhaps 75 times with load development, practice and hunting. Never had a problem with pressure at all. I have seen what I'm pretty sure are some of the same accounts of the exploding rifle as you. Other boards have pretty much discounted it as negligent use by the shooter, either overloading or double loading. I got most of what I know about them from a place called "Doug's Message Boards". Lots of good and helpful folks over there. If you're considering getting one, you should go ahead and make your move pretty soon. Savage was building them on a contract of the license from the guy who invented the system. They are letting the contract expire with no apparent plans to replace them or continue production. Give me a shout if you want to test drive mine. I'll be glad to loan it to you and give you a quick course on the operation. Sorry I was slow getting back to you. Been working on blinds.
  20. Ummm.. yeah. I guess I am. My deer pics were pretty good though. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23774
