  1. My R1's stock cracked on its second day of field use last year and CS was very accomodating. We're all waiting to see how things turn out from Brice. Hopefully, he'll be singing their praises one day too. [ 08-20-2005, 01:29 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
  2. Well, yes I did read that part. Here's something you may have missed. And here's another.

    CORDOBA

Sorry for the spelling errors, Black Jack. I was trying to post while doing my regular day job, and well, work keeps getting in the way. As Nelli Girl pointed out, the post was very much tongue in cheek and was directed as a sarcastic retort to her assumption that the gun was the primary reason for your admirable scores. Perhaps a few of these would have been in order? At any rate, congratulations on your great scores and a hearty welcome to the Benelli boreds. /that one was intentional
  4. If it's anything like a turkey call, you would place the tongue against the call, pushing it into the roof of your mouth, then force air towards the tip of the tongue. It's not really a blow or a hum. Maybe more of a Ssssssssssss. http://www.turkeyhuntingsecrets.com/library/libindex-calling-learn.htm

    CORDOBA

Last weekend there was an unusually strong vertical pressure gradient ridge trough centered over South Carolina / North Carolina. This meteorological anomaly affected vertical and lateral shifts in the air currents, as well as a 3% increase in gravitational downforce, believed to have been strengthened by the meteor showers. Combined, the effects on clay pigeons were profound to say the very least. Pigeons were slowed by 14.6% and appeared larger than normal, due the shifts in mirage patterns. Shooters throughout the Carolinas reported record scores, with one Mossberg shooter setting a new state record in Asheville, NC. /source - NC Dept. of Bovine Excrement [ 08-19-2005, 05:12 PM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
  6. Assuming you are putting the call in your mouth, make sure the open end is facing outward towards your lips.
  7. There's the answer. It doesn't specify BAR or any other brand/make. I wouldn't use it in ANY semi-auto. Good work, Chronos! [ 08-18-2005, 10:38 AM: Message edited by: tucker301 ]
  8. I haven't heard that about the Federal ammo. Do you have a reference for that information?
  9. Don't be like that.
  10. Tip: Use the Search Feature
  11. Thanks for the update, Brice. If the head gunsmith thinks decent patterns are good enough, perhaps Benelli should reprint their literature.... "Benelli - Really Expensive - Decent Patterns". Let us know how it shoots when you get it back.

    Crio chokes

Yes, but you can't use a duck choke on a turkey. They'll immediately recognize your inexperience and laugh at you. Nothing worse than having a turkey laugh at you.
  13. Sounds to me like CS knew what they were talking about. That's the second time this year. They're on a hot streak!
  14. I believe Brice, having taken all of the accusations he could stand, took a stiff toddy and proceeded to lambaste his accusers. Hopefully, he has since shipped the weapon, the choke tubes, the targets, and maybe even one of those cousins to Benelli CS. And HOPEFULLY, they are resolving the problem, even if it means sending Brice a new cousin AND a new gun!
  15. Here's how I adjusted my SBEII LH. With my eyes closed, I shouldered the gun with my cheek down on the comb as if sighting a target. Without moving or adjusting, I opened my eyes and looked at my sight picture. I then tinkered with different shims until I achieved a near perfect sight picture when I repeated the process. I felt this was as close as I could get it, and stuck with that setup. I don't shoot a lot of clays, but I do shoot live birds every chance I get, and so far, I like the way mine is set up. One thing. If you do try this method, take 15 minutes between each adjustment to prevent yourself from making the adjustments in your body position. In other words, if you shoulder it blindly once, and open your eyes, the natural thing to do on the next try is to adjust your body's positioning to provide a better sight picture on the next try. The time buffer will negate that effect.

  17. I sent you a PM with a link to an auction on ebay. The auction's over.
  18. Do they fit?
  19. Yes. Crio just refers to the fact that the metal has been cryogenically treated. As long as the tube fits the gun, it can be used.
  20. Try Mann & Sons at 618-357-2911 Brownell's has the gel pads, but at $90 apiece, they'll always have them.
  21. That looks like a heck of a great deal to me. I only wish we had something like that in my area. By comparison, our local hunting club charges $1,000 to join and $250 a season membership. This gives members access to about 1000 acres of owned and leased properties for deer, turkey and small game. There's a nice clubhouse and processing building, but no lodging and shooting ranges of any kind. We have Monday night dinners @ $7 a head and various fund raiser dances, stews, raflles, etc. throughout the year. It's nice, but I'd drop it in a minute for your deal!
  22. What else can a mute do, but point Post some pictures, so we can see that bad boy!
  23. I've always shot modified on doves. Never had a problem getting a limit.
  24. I don't know about the quantity, but the lower the better for thise who now own one I think you did OK at $1,900. Not great, but OK.
  25. I'm a lefty as well, and I have a RH R1. To be honest, I have no problems using the RH model. I guess it's just something I've grown accustomed to over the years. Benelli is pretty good about offering LH guns, so I wouldn't be surprised to see one in the next few years.
