Just looking around at prices, I'm regretting not buying one at $1,400 when I had the chance.

Just sharing with the group, because it's a pretty rare thing to see on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7175260222 not my auction

From what I've seen in the past year, the flyway edition has appreciated about 50% already.

Benelli dealers have Benelli wrenches, or you can get a generic wrench. http://www.choketube.com/accessories.html#e

Sorry, I read that part and figured you were wanting to shoot below min. loads.
-
Some have indeed reported problems with sub-minimum loads. Why not simply take the pump along as a backup?
-
Sorry to hear you're having problems with a brand new gun. I've never had any problems getting them on the phone. Try again Monday AM. Meanwhile, I'll send you a CS e-mail address via PM.

Benelli uses 2.6 mm thread size for their sights. Most aftermarket sight manufacturers now offer this size. There are also magnetic and adhesive mount models available. Truglo HiViz Mack's

If you get really bored, and want to learn more about the various types of mounts, take a look at std (Leupold, Burris & Redfield) , dual dovetail, and QR (quick release) mounts. You can use the QR's on the Nova's cantilever, by the way.

I do believe you've got it! Glad to help. Sorry I assumed you knew the difference up front. We all have to learn sometime or another. Enjoyed your city very much last year while on vacation. Didn't see too many place to hunt though

http://ruger.com/Firearms/PDF/18.pdf See pages 30 and 31 for photos of Weaver Style and Tip Off. 10/22's are available both ways. A Weaver style ring will have a cross-bolt that fits into the grooves which run perpendicular to the length of the base. Click each for a ring sample. Tip-Off Weaver Style Both use a clamping style of mounting, but the Weaver Style is wider than the tip-off.

Excellent points, mudhen. I guess it's from the same part of psyches that allow us to watch the evening news every day, often while eating dinner, and not break down completely. It's somebody I don't know, so WTF do I care? Brice has agreed to allow me to post his PM from yesterday. The Benelli CS rep's. name has been X'd out to protect her from being thought of as the only one there who can't get things done. __________________________ From Brice: i have some hopefully good news. XX from ben cust serv called me this afternoon wanting to get my gun back along with my 28" barrel. said if a can see that the choke tube is off center why her guys cant figure it out. said when i sent the lower reciever to her it didnt make it to her attention or to her head serv guy. now she will have ups pick it up from me with no cost to me and when she gets it she will take it to her head serv guy and call me @ that time to talk over it with me. she also said the both times that i sent the gun to them i was to get back test targets that was shot. neither time has that happened. she apologized several times for this happening and said she will make it right for me. after i talk to her and her serv guy i let you know. brice __________________________ Brice, Thanks for letting me share this with the board. We all know exactly where things stand now, and we're eagerly awaiting the results. Please post back when you hear from them. tucker

You're not trying to use tip-off rings, are you? Otherwise, call Benelli and ask them. I was pretty sure it was cut for standard Weaver style rings.

can·ti·le·ver n. A projecting structure, such as a beam, that is supported at one end and carries a load at the other end or along its length. A bracket or block supporting a balcony or cornice. The cantilever is machined to accept Weaver style rings in the cross slots. No bases are required. Click Here for a closer look

I know what you mean. Beyond my belief that dovetails are unbeatable, there's the issue of aesthetics. That saw-toothed rail, sitting atop the otherwise sleek and elegant R1, looks like a brush guard on a Ferrari.
