It's an incredible round....flattest shooting 30-30 round and devastating on game. So far I've taken two deer with it and both were passthroughs and left a nice exit wound.

I will be taking my SBE pheansent hunting for the first time. I want to see what ammo people are using and reccomend. Thanks,

Change of plan this year....I used my 30-30 using the Hornady Leverevolutions and harvested a 4 pointer. Great stuff.

I also have the original SBE. Just the other week I used it for clays and had a great time with it. Fortunately my SBE will cycle the lightest to the heaviest loads with ease. Enjoy.

I'm leaning towards the Remi Premier Copper Solids since they shoot well in my set-up.

I've used their slugs before in my smooth-bore. They were by far the best slug combo in my SBE.

I picked up a pair of Field And Stream Swamp Stalker 1000 Hunting Boots in Mossy Oak. They are about 17" high and very warm. They also felt very comfortable after a few miles of walking.

Does the Comfortech have any "noticeable" less felt recoil over the Non Comfortech? Or is it a clever marketing scheme?

Most people I know use the C or the D shims in the SBE1. I personally use the C shim.

My local Sports Authority have SBE II's marked down to $1100. I guess they are making room for the new inventory.

While the sabot slug is made for a rifled barrel they do work in a smooth bore. I've taken several deer using Remington sabots and a smooth bore. (all within 75 yards).

The Super Nova bead is a direct fit to the SBEII. It is considerably bigger and will screw in.

I'm very happy with the outcome. What load were you using? What would be a good home defense load?

Has anyone used these on WT deer? If so what was your experience? Thanks!
