  1. looks good, is this going to be a duty weapon?
  2. Ya my 1187 has been through 4 or 5 hunting seasons never rusted or failed to fire or feed...maybe because its the special purpose synthetic model? I might throw a hastings barell and a scope on it, turn it into a slug gun one day. I love my SBII 24" black, it always turns heads when im in the field...its like rolling into a bar with a nice piece of ass under your arm lol
  3. Thats good to here, but im referring to people upgrading springs and what not and saying you need all wolf springs...shouldnt have to...you use stock springs in your guns?
  4. Dont you agree when spending that much you should have to be changing parts? upgradings springs and what not?
  5. none taken =) my 1187sps has had thousands of rounds through it from crap target ammo to 3" 00 buck...its fired in freezing weather as well as rain...I still would never buy a mossberg. Where have you heard about the new remingtons?
  6. They better take care of everything for what they charge for a firearm, and all this bullsh*t about having to change springs and this and that shouldnt be when your dropping $1400 on a semi auto shotgun.
  7. Go with a Remingon 870 and despite what other people say I think for the same price Mossbergs are crap
  8. Whats wrong with 1187's? I had a SPS 3" for years and never jammed a crap target load and working evertime in pouring rain to snow.

    Oiling SBII

I wanna clean and remove the spring and plunger on the insisde of stock, do i just disasseble butt pad and use a socket wrench to take apart?

    Oiling SBII

Benelli says this plunger and spring assembly needs to be lubed well, so i put maybe 6 drops of CLP around the cylinder and worked it up and down. I was considering disassembling the stock but is it that involved? I read one person talking about heating up a bolt because it has locktite, im assuming this is the same part that has to be removed to change shims?

    Oiling SBII

I understand how to clean all that but was talking about the spring tube/plunger inside of the buttstock itself.

    Oiling SBII

I have an SBII with comfortech and had problems with it ejecting the first round fired, it wouldnt fully eject but all shots were fine after. This was frustration and benelli said to put "alot" of oil into the plunger and spring. Gun has been sitting for a year I wanted to disassemble it and clean and re oil, has anyone disassembled the tube containing plunger and spring? I just hope it isnt all gummed up.
  13. For some reason I cant think of the part your speaking of maybe im retarded....would this be the same for a SBII?
  14. I have a SBII w/comfortech in 12 gauge 24". I use it for pheasant and deer hunting as well as clays occasionally. I havent messed with the shims, never felt a need to. I had an issue with high brass not ejecting on the first shot while pheasant hunting but plunger and spring needed to be lubed as per benelli cust service. Just curious to see if anyone has modified anything on this gun, if so lets here about and maybe post some pics!
  15. wow...maybe you shouldnt own firearms.
  16. Well it happened once again in the field on the first round, luckily i killed the pheasant with the first shot...i spoke with benelli and they told me to push down on the inside where the plunger/spring is and drop some clp down there and also on the top of the plunger itself and work it in....we'll see what happens, buck week is next week and if this jams up with a 3 1/2 shell there is something wrong, I know how to clean my guns my 1187 NEVER did this...ill keep you posted
  17. Thanks for the input MGSPENCER...My gun has jammed a total of twice in the field...both times it was the first round I fired, all other rounds after that was fine....im using Federal Ammunition with DRAM and shot OZ past specs for cycling...I beleive I never cleaned/oiled the "ejector slide" or whatever its called attached to the barrell...I beleive it was gummed up and not lubed properly which would explain almost like a "freezing" or not moving properly, jamming the first shell but all other shells were fine after it....I lubed it up nicely with some CLP and shot a pheasant today without any jam...I also fired 3 rounds at a seperate point in the day without any problem...I hope thats all it was didnt wanna send this back to benelli during hunting season...anyone else ever have this problem?
  18. I recently bought a SBII 24" w/comforttech in 12gauage. I fired 500 rounds of remington low brass 8 shot (i think they were low brass game loads) without a single jam. Today I fire at a pheasant and go for a followup shot and there is a shell sticking out of the ejection port sideways. VERY disappointing. I was shooting Federal Premium 1500fps 5shot. The conditions were rainy, but I clean and lube with CLP after every use of the gun..I fired a few more rounds with the same ammo and there was no problem, I hope to blame it on the shell itself maybe underpowered? My 1187 never had a problem cycling these. Question Are you supposed to lube the ejector attached to the barrell (has spring on it)? Sometimes if you quarter of the way open the bolt to see if there is a round in there and dont allow enough force to close the bolt, you will see the bolt head is in a different position not all the way turned like if you release the bolt from full back position is this normal our could that have been the problem?
