+1, a Briley speed wrench and some choke-tube grease and I NEVER have this problem.

Looks like a very good price for those "I NEED OEM! parts" type people. Oh wait...was I supposed to bash a sale thread? Sorry. Good price is good. GL on your sale!

I bought one, had to try it out. Well, I think Kip's A2/Ti hybrid will be better. I only shot about 30 rounds of buck, and 15 slugs, and 25 rounds of birdshot. Function was flawless, even with the 2.75 dram 1145fps birdshot fired from the hip, and I was pleased. However. I returned home, removed the bolt, and looked at where it interfaces with the detent. The metal was deformed slightly on the inside surface where the cut-outs are for the detent. Deformed. Not scratched. Not "marred". Bent. It will either be self-limiting, or a structural failure will result that would allow the bolt to be removed from the weapon with less than the designed force. This is damage caused during firing, not little scratches upon insertion/removal. It does not require a jewler's loup to see. I have scanned a picture of it, but being as I have a scanner and not a camera, bare with the quality of the photo. Apparently 36RC is NOT! hard enough for this part, or the FFT part is not really 36RC. Since I am not going to talk about things I don't know (I can't measure their bolt's surface hardness,), I am going to take their word that it is 36RC, and that 36RC is not an acceptable hardness in this application. Thankyou Kip for ignoring everyone who whines about your "OCD" and doing your homework and providing us with the A2 hybrid in the near future. Set one aside, I'm going to buy it. Thankyou! Also, I have been a huge fan of the MOD choke coupled with Remington 000 2.75" buck. Well, I tried an IC choke today. The "core" pattern was about the same, but I always got about 4-5 in about a 12" circle at 40 yards, and the other 3 went who knows where. With the Briley IC choke, I was getting 7 or 8 (shell holds 8) all on a piece of 22x28" paper at 45 yards reliably.

I am 5'10.5 and had a great cheek-weld with my CS as well, except the button kept hitting me in the jaw when I fired the weapon with the stock fully extended. That kinda sucked. A large part of why I sold.

WTT: NIB M4 collapsible stock and NIW M4 +2 extension for NIB TA47-2 ACOG
Unobtanium replied to a topic in Benelli
I only took 1 class in management, so you probably have a better comprehensive understanding of it, however, it would appear that you are seeking acceptance on at least a financial/business level. -
The Benelli CS is a damn solid stock. I have owned 2, on 2 different M4's, and fore-aft wiggle is NONE. Rotationally, there is maybe 1/4-1/2 of a degree, just a slight wiggle. It locks up VERY solid, and the BS about "collapsing under recoil" can be filed away right along side worrying about 922R. It has never been documented to be a problem. (awww ****...922r was mentioned. Get ready!)

Actually, "peer-pressure" is a just a crude way of describing "social normative theory". When I studied management, it was described as a rather effective method of "moderation", if you will. (yes, even for adults) As to selling the stock for over $200 being "greedy" (my word for self-serving). Well, what did you pay for it? Unless you have an "in", I am guessing it was a little more than $200. I only know of ONE PERSON who sold this stock at TRUE gain to themselves on this forum ( I suspect a few others, but don't know). They sold it for $500, if I recall. THey bought the cheek-piece from a pawn shop for $10 because the owner had no idea what it was, and then ordered the PG from Numrich for $80. I helped them find it. They made a killing, and gave someone a "good deal" (according to market/availability). However, most of us get those stocks for $6-800. Right now, they are at a "low" on this site (they went up to around $750-850 right after Obama won, and they came down about 6-8mo later). I sold some of my stocks, and people on other sites are STILL PM'ing me asking for them, even though I marked them as sold. I sold it for $575 and it sat on the market for nearly a month. The reason I offloaded it for $575 is because I feared Mesa's Urbino coming out a little sooner, and people were already rumbling about "I want a CS, but am probably going to hold off for the Urbino). When the Urbino comes out, it is going to remove a significant portion of the market for the Benelli CS, as it will allow proper cheek-weld, comfortable LOP, and costs $215 MSRP. The only people who will want an OEM CS are collectors, and brand-snobs. However, I think the Urbino will be a FUNCTONALLY better stock, unless part of your need is to stow the weapon in a jeep and lop 4" off the OAL by collapsing the stock. Not many of us NEED that. Ergo, I strongly urge you to sell before Urbino hits the market. Just my analysis of the situation, worth what you paid for it. As to courtesy and tact, yes, they ARE part of the art of negotiation, and you just don't see what has occured, do you? I set someone else up. Anyone. Free of charge. By being a bit of a dick, I gave them the chance to PM you with "Man, those guys are asses, I think your price is fair, but I only have $600, is there some way we can meet in the middle, let me know, thanks!" Now wouldn't you be more inclined to sell it to this nice person after all us meanies beat on you? They would have INSTANT rapport with you because they had something in common with you (their angst towards our comments on your price/deal), and I bet you would. So if they were going to take advantage of that, they should have done it before I posted about it. Probably still could, I bet, since I am willing to go out on a limb and say that you would still come off your price a lot more for them than for me, skeeter, etc. Maybe a tad more just to sell it and spite us, who knows. Either way, you need to also consider "manipulation" in addition to "politeness and tact". If you want to sell above the market value HERE, try: www.shotgunworld.com www.m4carbine.net www.ar15.com -

Well, what do you expect? You come around posting absurd prices, you're going to get laughed at when you act all hurt when someone suggests you lower them. Adjust your price, do some business, and move on. Or you could get all hurt over it and take your ball and go home because of how "mean" you think everyone is to you. Given that an NIB TA-47 2 can be had from any number of online vendors for around $900, and some cheaper, am I to presume that your asking-price for the OEM Benelli extension is $150? $750+$150=$900=even trade. -
Hits with authority. Good stuff!

He's G2G now for all common intent, but I think he already has a follower.
-
Depends on who is performing the action. Given the question, 30.
-
Just take the stock off and look. It takes 30 seconds.
-
Is it noticeably springier than OEM? How does coil-thickness compare?
-
No they don't, noone knows. The law was written pertaining AK-47's and adapted to other things (very poorly...). Even the ATF sends out letters to people that contradict themselves. It's a joke. Don't even bother.
-
At $215, I wouldn't really call that "Paying", in a sense of being ripped. I mean, that sounds reasonable enough from a company the size of Mesa for what it is.
-
No, I was twisting and applying heat. Ergo, I don't think this is correct or it would have come off at the same point on all 3 weapons. I think surface-prep (or lack) at the factory of the two metals has more to do with it.
-
I agree 100%, but at least it's SOMETHING, as well as a price-list.

Probably right, but I have noticed that on different M4's, the adhesive sticks differently. Two of mine I had to spend about 15 minutes with the bore-brush getting it out, the last M4 I bought, it came out all on the tube and just needed a wipe-down with an alcohol pad to prep it for the new tube/loctite.
-
Nope. I avoid them because $20 off or whatever isn't worth the hassel to me. Some people get their stuff promptly, some people never see their stuff. It's a crap-shoot.
-
Leave it be, the trigger group will keep it from coming loose or getting to out of line. Tighten it too much and the trigger-group is hard to get in.
-
I just used a 12ga brass bore brush. Also, you don't need a vice or any of that crap, just a $15 heat-gun and an old T-shirt to wrap things in to keep from burning your hands.

Will a benelli m4 run dry? What would it take to make the M4 fail?

Sorry, I got that one out of order Weaponshield is George Fennel's evolution of FP10 (he created it also)
