    Patterned an M4

True. What is interesting is that the the Hornady Critical Defense uses the same wad but in my experience isn't as tight after 15 yards. I only tested LE127 because it cycles every semi auto i've ever tried it in; the LE133 seems hit or miss in M4s and 1301s in my experience. This also shows that the claim that flite control must be used through a cylinder choke or else performance will suffer is false. I also patterned an M4 sbs and a Nova Tactical/SP if people are interested in those.

    Patterned an M4

Hi all, I patterned an M4 at 7, 15, and 25 yards with different buckshot loads (estate, federal, hornady (8 pellet critical duty). Thought you might be interested. Also tried wolf and s and b but those exceeded the max upload. They aren't available now and performed poorly after 15 yards anyways. Note: each target has a hanger hole at 12 o'clock at the top, it isn't a pellet hole. This was with an 18.5" M4 with factory removable modified choke. Cliff notes: only the Federal LE 127-00 would put all 9 pellets on the paper at 25 yds (nice 6" ish groups). 20251223_233513126_iOS.heic 20251223_233603271_iOS.heic 20251223_233905148_iOS.heic 20251223_233626249_iOS.heic 20251223_233653264_iOS.heic 20251223_233717139_iOS.heic 20251223_233739853_iOS.heic 20251223_233811136_iOS.heic 20251223_233836970_iOS.heic
  4. Use the oil Benelli included with it.
  5. KZ. Been abusing it since 2008. https://botach.com/kz-oversized-charging-handle-for-benelli-m4-shotgun/
  6. Can you take a few more photos or a video? I am trying to see how the spring seats into the retainer on the tube. Can you compress the spring with one hand and free the piston with another? I assume that spring adds tension to the gen2 handguard? Does the owner's manual say anything?
  7. I wonder what a completely stock one would go for nowadays.
  8. Yeah it kinda sucks. I had one M4 that ran ANYTHING. Others seem to not like the really low fps buckshot and cheap birdshot. I have found that the Estate buckshot is a great balance of tight pattern, good reliability and price.
  9. Which flitecontrol? The 1145 advertised fps? I have a few M4s that don't like it. Even ones that are completely stock. Did your M4 function with the flitecontrol before mods?
  10. They have been available in the U.S. for a while at LE distributors as a "Gen 2" model. https://botach.com/benelli-m4-18-5-shotgun-w-5-position-stock-7-1-full-tube-gen-2/
  11. I like how we have been informed that he was a white supremacist incel hispanic even though he murdered mostly other hispanics. Yet we don't have the Nashville transgender school shooter's manifesto yet. Shocking.
  12. No one watch this review. The reviewer is not a gunsmith. I repeat, NOT a gunsmith.
  13. Ask your procurement officer is there are exceptions for sole sources. That way you don't have to jump through the t&e/approval hoops. At least some .gov entities have that option.
  14. Dang, you must be quite the Billy Bad Ass to call a member of the SAS a fool. Now you've got me scared.
  15. Tell the British SAS they are doing it wrong.

  17. This is what you want. I have had one for 15 years and have abused it in classes with no issues. https://botach.com/kz-benelli-m4-oversized-charging-handles/
  18. Here is the text of the law. r)It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) of this chapter as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes except that this subsection shall not apply to— (1) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for sale or distribution by a licensed manufacturer to the United States or any department or agency thereof or to any State or any department, agency, or political subdivision thereof; or (2) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for the purposes of testing or experimentation authorized by the Attorney General.
  19. 922r relates to the ASSEMBLY of an imported, non-sporting firearm. You didn't do the assembling (someone ahead of you in the supply chain did) therefore 922r doesn't apply to you.
  20. They are pretty high quality. The only issue is that the slots are narrow-ish and some shells dont' fit/are too snug. Mine are too narrow for federal le loads. YMMV though.

  22. Normal, just dirty with residue and lead. As mentioned a tornado brush will help. A remington bore squegee also helps push everything out once it is broken up.
  23. Look for buckshot advertised at 1300fps or greater. That fiocchi HD buckshot is awesome but isn't reliable in an M4 in my experience.
  24. No updates. I haven't fired it since I discovered the latest wear. I would love to see other owners post photos of the their piston housings . . . I have no idea how the barrel bulged. It was on its second range trip and I was shooting pheasant loads and some fiocchi and federal low recoil slugs. I am trying to get my hands on a Mossberg 940 Tactical for a comparo.
  25. Just 922r parts on one, others stock.
