Both. Both failed to clear the ejection port. I am sure since both are 1145fps. Mine seem to like 1250ish and up. Patterns I don't recall a difference. I used to have some photos but must have deleted them. It was a long time ago.

I have M4s that don't like the low recoil le flite control. But i generally have bad luck with firearms so who knows. For cheap buckshot try estate, aguila, and lax ammo extreme. For cheap slugs . . . well any of them.
-
Well it could just be me. Sometimes I have horrible luck . . .

Funny thing is, that particular M4 was one of the original imported H2O robar np3 models. I bought it and literally shot 5 wolf slugs out of it and put it away. I don't think I will be doing any more shooting with it.

Perhaps. To be clear, I am not anti 1301. I have one and while I am disappointed in it, I am keeping it. It is easy to shoot slugs accurately (only gone to 25 yds; I have an M4 that put 5 slugs in one hole at 50yds seated so I am not declaring a winner there yet), it is light, manueverable, and the stock cylinder choke is pretty good. What I am is anti 1301 vs. M4 comparisons that ignore all of the 1301's substantial deficiencies compared to the M4. All the big name youtubers have done this. They are both Italian, that is about it. My posterity will be shooting my M4s long after I am gone. I think my 1301 will be done after another 300 rounds of buckshot.

I have been shooting my 1301 a bunch the last two weeks testing out buckshot loads for reliability and patterns. The 1301 recoils hard, probably due to its weight so I have been looking at loads in the 1250-1300fps range (it has been completely reliable with low recoil slugs). I went to clean it this morning (probaby about 120 or so rounds through it total) and found some shocking wear. See the pics below. The piston housing is getting chewed up. And now the thin plastic tube the bolt carrier rides on is getting gouged. Will it crack? Who knows. This gun has already been back to Beretta for a bulged barrel. Oh, and today the action spring decided to unseat itself from the PLASTIC keeper and hang up on the tube threads making disassembly a pain. Below are shots of my 14 year old M4 and its pistons (second pic they have been cleaned with Hoppes). Not a hint of wear anywhere. The fragillity of the 1301 is shocking. I think its best to just run it dirty and leave it that way.

I must have missed the memo. I have been shooting slugs out of my M4s since 2008. Never had an accuracy problem. And no, mine won't cycle the Fiocchi Defense Dynamics 1250fps 00 buck either (although it groups excellently for a value load).

You are right, 20ga M2s seem to be in short supply currently. Would an Ethos work for you? https://www.impactguns.com/semi-auto-shotguns/benelli-ethos-field-20-26-aa-grade-satin-walnut-silver-engraved-progressive-comfort-3-1rd-650350104714-10471

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I have seen a mix of old and new M4s (2019+). Anyone know why Benelli stopped marking the M4 barrels?
-
I have a new 1301 and I don't care for it. The comparisons to an M4 have no merit. The 1301 has too much plastic and a thin walled barrel. Mine lasted 50 rounds before the barrel bulged, rear sight came loose, and some plastic in the action broke off and fell out. Luckily it was all fixed under warranty. The M4 is a robust military weapon; the 1301 is a commercial gun with black furniture.

Most likely. I will probably pick up a shootingsight hammer if they ever get back in stock. A friend of mine manages a machine shop that does work (including prototyping) for the medical device industry. He has some very talented machinists on staff that like to take on projects after hours. I may see if they can knock one out for me.
-
Has anyone tried the shooting sight hammer? Claims to be S7 tool steel . . .
-
FFT says it is normal and not a problem as long as there are no performance issues. He said he has sold 1000s and isn't aware of any failures. He also mentioned a lifetime warranty. Thanks for the replies.
-
No. But the wear has accelerated and who knows where the stopping point is.
-
I am going to call Monday and see what they say.

Hi. Haven't asked FFT yet. I have had it on a long time so I am not sure what warranty coverage there is. I know lots of people here have them. Hopefully other users can chime in. I am kinda disappointed. Not many options for hammers so I may have to reinstall the factory one and use another US made part.

Here is the law (r)It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is identical to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under section 925(d)(3) of this chapter as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes except that this subsection shall not apply to— (1) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for sale or distribution by a licensed manufacturer to the United States or any department or agency thereof or to any State or any department, agency, or political subdivision thereof; or (2) the assembly of any such rifle or shotgun for the purposes of testing or experimentation authorized by the Attorney General. ----------------------- I am not aware of an official ATF parts count determination for the Super Nova, however someone on another shotgun forum was advised in writing by the ATF that since the NOVA's stock and receiver is one piece, only two parts would have to be replaced in order to increase capacity. For your Super Nova you probably would need to replace 3.

So did they come from FFT or were they drop shipped from the manufacturer? If the came from FFT they should've at least inspected them before shipping.

How did those even get shipped?

Been running one for at least 10 years. Zero problems and much easier to manipulate.
