No I have not shot a vinci. I have held one. It feels nice. So does the M2. I think you are just praising the vinci because it's the new cool looking gun daddy bought you and Benelli hype is like the bible to you. Like I said I think and maybe you are right. BTW, fire fox has spell checker "cycleing" is cycling and "reciever" is receiver and "guage" is gauge and "im" is I'm and "american" is capitalized and "couse" is cause. You didn't get that vinci because of your English grade. My M2 kicks soft enough you would have to be a girl or a little boy to pay extra for a gun that kicks less than an M2 or you have a shoulder injury. I do agree that an M2 would have trouble cycling light loads in 3.5. My proof is the SBE.
-
I know what you mean about the SBE but the M2 doesn't travel as far and cycles better than the SBE. It doesn't jam far as I can tell. I still don't know how the in line ID system reduces muzzle jump, because it goes strait back, and the old ID back stem part of the bolt goes at a down ward angle, which in theory should reduce muzzle jump. I don't see cycling faster as any advantage, because my M2 cycles faster than I can pull the trigger, and alot faster than I can shoot doubles. I use my M2 for trap and I guess I would take less muzzle jump if it was given to me, but I wouldn't pay over $100 for it. I would think that a 3.5" vinci would have trouble with cheap loads.

BTW since you are new to shotguns, you probably dont have an ffl. To buy guns on the internet you have to have a ffl. An ffl is just a liscence to buy and sell guns. If you don't have an ffl just go to your dealer and ask him for a copy of his ffl. He will probably charge you at the most $30. Or you can get one.

He is right, If you want to put scope mounts or a rail and buy a barrel, you are better of with a new gun. You might find a used one with every thing you want at gun broker that has just been siting beside some guys bed in case he needs to defend his self and he needs some money so he sells his gun.
-
Glad to have you, you might want to buy a new gun because the price of a barrel is very high. here is a link to a 18.5" barrel with ghost ring sights. You can buy scope mounts here that require no gunsmithing here and I dont know much about rails can anybody else help him?

I needed a 3" semi auto benelli so I did get a M2 but you can't get steady grip stocks or rifled barrels yet on the vinci eithier so I think that makes the M2 a better hunting gun. I don't see much of a difference in the In-line ID system vs. the old ID system, the spring is just in a different place, can anybody tell a difference between the in-line and old inertia driven system?
-
I don't think a recoil (inertia) driven gun like the benelli's would be as dangerous as that 16 gauge assuming it's a gas operated shotgun.

My M2 seems to cycle 1 oz loads just fine so far and have seen them eat up 3 dram 1 oz loads all day without a problem. I have seen a SBE2 fail with 1 oz loads. They may be made to hunt but Tom and Tim can break clays pretty good with the M2.
-
I chose function over fashion to a certain extent when it comes to hunting. I will probably wait to Christmas or my birthday that starts right before spring turkey season to buy one but I will let you know.

You might find a good deal on one that was slightly used, I paid under $1000 for it and it msrp's for over $1400 and it included everything that came from the factory, and I couldn't find a scratch or mark on it. I also took it for a round of trap (In my back yard trap field) and hit great with it, I love how it swings, it fits me great. I need to put the z shim in it because I was hitting high with the b shim. It cycles great with a box of 1 oz and I use 11/8 oz for doubles so there shouldn't be any problem with doubles unless I let it get very very dirty.

I am a proud new M2 owner and I love the feel of this gun. I realized how un-awesome my old super nova was in comparison (sorry novaking ). The supernova is up-sized from the M2 from the bead and the bulky forearm. The M2 has a softer foam comb and the supernova has a hard rubber comb, and the same with the recoil pad. The M2 also has a better fit for me. Don't get me wrong the super nova is a great gun but the M2 is a whole different class.
-
I agree. Do you shoot clays or do you hunt more. The M2 will cycle a little more reliable with light loads, and the 3.5 will be handy if you use it for turkey.
-
+1 I will stick with my M2

I know what you are talking about, I hate those old slings that keep falling off when you dont have a free hand to hold on to the sling so it doesn't slide off. I will buy one of those slings and try it out.
-
Yea I was afraid of that. I guess it is as safe as the original trigger with the EZ trigger flipped away?
-
stid2677, Is the EZ trigger adjustable?
-
I thought they were the exact same thing, except you just have to flip the metal plate around, and put a left hand recoil pad on.
-
Most slings with the little stem sticking out that you push in to open it up, you can twist shut so there is no way it can come undone. If it is twisted halfway it will appear like the stud is to big. Try twisting the little stem you push in both ways.

It was 75 in Arkansas today. I love cold fronts, water for our crops and great weather after the storm.
-
I doubt he is bidding if he tells people about a great deal. I choose function over fashion usually but I would rather my guns shoot good and look good than shoot good and look bad.
-
I agree but in Arkansas you have to use a 12 or 20 nothing else, but I would get the 20 regardless. A gas operated 20 with 3/4 oz target loads shouldn't hurt her. 20 is cheaper and easier to find.

One time I was shooting a friends gun which was an auto and I was used to my old 870. I then tried to pump the gun and asked why the gun wouldn't pump. He started laughing and said that is a good one. I then looked down and realized it was an auto. Don't worry everybody has a stupid moment.
-
Thanks for capitalizing the S. Maybe I am dyslexic. Maybe your friend is lucky but the gun is probably a time bomb. Google Mossberg silver reserve firing pin problems. It is not a big deal to replace your firing pins but they could break in a shoot and ruin your score.

I wander how that guy felt in the morning... or whatever day he woke up?
