  1. Remingtons almost never go wrong but 1000 rounds is nothing, My super nova I have had for about 4 months has 2700 rounds through it, and I didn't even shoot ata this year, only game and fish. But your friends gun will probably fail in another 1000 rounds at the least. During trap season I put at least 200 usually 250 to 300 a week just in practice.
  2. I am guessing you mean trap? If so this link might help you decide: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19203 I think that tighter is better so I would go with a improved modified or just a modified.
  3. Don't get a mossberg O/U it looks great and seems like a steal, but it isn't a high volume gun. I was seriously considering it, and asked my trap coach what he thought of it. He said, "My son over there started out last year with a brand new Mossberg silver reserve and it didn't even make it through the first season without the firing pins breaking." And you can't get better quality firing pins for it, only stock pins. A firing pin could break in the middle of a shoot and cause you to use a back up gun that you haven't practiced with. The Mossberg is a steal for regular shooting, but not for any type of high volume shooting like trap or skeet.
  4. An O/U is better but not necessarily for a 9 year old girl because they are generally heavier. Don't get a mossberg O/U for high volume shooting like trap the firing pins break oh so easily I have seen it happen more than once, and start reading some reviews and they will confirm this. Maybe a semi auto light weight auto loader with a reliable and good reputation? A pump might be a problem for her because after a long day of doubles her arm might get tired.

  6. I think the hardest part is getting the but pad back on but I have a supernova, pretty sure it is the same to take apart. make sure you put the shim kit stuff in right.
  7. I will trade guns I have a 28" super nova max 4 hd camo, the longer barrel is better for trap and I am looking for a turkey gun. I bought the gun about 4 months ago. Here is a link to pictures of the gun: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19391 I would trade stocks but they are different camos. PM me if you are interested or if you want my email, thanks.
  8. Sounds like you baby your gun. I guess I would to if I had a new $1400 gun. I also have a z shim in and I like it to although it still isn't enough I ordered a raised comb which I am still waiting for.
  9. I took the old RWS pellet gun out and did a little population control on blue jays. I have also killed a bunch of those round bright orange pigeons.
  10. I have yet to see a steady grip stock that fits the Vinci.
  11. I am not a Vinci fan if I wanted a semi-auto 3" Benelli I would get an M2. The M2 has everything a Vinci has same capacity same chamber an inertia system, just about the same comforteh system. The only thing the Vinci has on the M2 is .3 pounds which is the weight of 2 shells. The 3 piece design doesn't have much on a takedown case. The Vinci does have something the M2 doesn't have, price
  12. still for sale
  13. I thought that was you.
  14. You wont find any problems in any new pump after 100 rounds but my supernova has had about 2700 rounds without one miss fire. It has always cycled good except with Winchester shells. Is it just me or are Winchesters bad on reliability? I have seen auto's eat up Remington and Federal shells all day but wouldn't even cycle Winchester shells right for singles. One of my friends had an 1100 jam shut with a Winchester shell and he had to use another gun to finish the round.
  15. That brings a new definition to gun ignorance.
  16. I recommend the M2 it has comfortech.
  17. Can you just get a regular stock and swap out the pads? That sucks, glad you got it back.

  23. If I had to pick one gun to last forever (and it couldn't be repaired) I would pick an 870. I own an 870 and a Super Nova and I would pick the SN over the 870, but not because of durability, because of the soft recoil pad, comfortech stock, shim kit, rotary bolt head, smoothness, shell stop, high rib, easy to clean threads, and over all better looks. The SN is very very durable but the 870 is very very very very very very very durable.
  24. Its "tacticool" I didn't see any but good luck with that.
  25. People usually buy pumps because they are cheaper than autos and if they had the money they would buy an auto. I really like the concept of this gun I wish I had the extra money to buy one right now.
