  1. My super nova is much smother than my 870 and I have shot doubles with both. I think you are pumping to fast and not all the way. Maybe you aren't used to pumping a 3.5" chamber? Just try taking a little time to pump make sure you pull all the way back. Good luck. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  2. I am not sure about that but I bet it makes a difference as well. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  3. You can try using a knife or a little more difficult your finger to pull the lever down after you load it. This would cure not pushing the last round in all the way, if you are lucky and this is the problem, or you could just push it. The thing Obama doesn't understand is if you outlaw guns the law abiders don't have guns and the people that already have guns illegaly, robbers, will still have guns. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  4. Shadow shooter, it does not look like you know what you are talking about. All your information is manufacturer BS. I used the same flite control rounds through the same gun, same yardage, same target using a rest pointing at the same spot on the target the only thing I switched were the chokes and here are the results. The top target was an Improved cylinder choke and I had 20 kill hits and 112 over all hits. The bottom target was a super full turkey choke and I had 32 kill hits and 173 overall hits. I am still impressed that an IC patterned that good but it didnt pattern better tan a SF so chokes full and tighter do not deform the wad and make it pattern wider. You can fire a slug up to a full choke I have seen it done did not do a thing to the barrel or choke but I would not go any tighter. And my doors are not hollow they are hard wood I doubt the wad can kill you. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  5. Patterns depend on the diameter of the barrel, how much lead is in the shotshell, the size of the shot, the design of the wad, and the choke and probably something I didn't mention. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  6. I dont just use it for trap I also use it for duck geese and turkey hunting but I was just wandering if it made much of a difference. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  7. Ok I did some testing and here is what I got with a 1.5" piece of hickory 3 dram 1 oz 7.5 shot did not penetrate 3 3/4 dram 1 1/4 oz 6 shot did not penetrate 4 dram 2 oz 4 shot did not penetrate 2 3/4 inch 9 00B pellets penetrated I dont have a vary good variety of shotgun shells right now its a big jump from 4 to 00B so I will buy some smaller buck shot and try it. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  8. It would be more effective for each individual shot but I guess you got me there I was just trying to make a point. I dont care that much because there isn't much crime around here. Maybe I will start using some bigger loads. I will probably test today what will go through a 1.5" door. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  9. Any body use one? Is it worth the money I am thinking about buying one for my super nova. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  10. I use 6 because it is the biggest I know doesn't penetrate walls and doors. You problably use 12 gauge 2.75 buckshot, why dont you use 10 gauge 3.5"s that would be more effective. I am not in to HD shotguns there is almost no crime rate so I dont really care. Some day I will test different loads to see what penetrates a door. If any body knows I wold like to know. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  11. I usually only get guns that are at a store if you haven't put money down you should try other stores unless it is hard to find like a tactical or something. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  12. I guess I just go with tighter is better and get an IM and a full thanks for the help __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  13. Congrats! Hope you enjoy your new gun. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  14. I know that I will get a briley but I checked their website and an IM has a .025 constriction and a LF has a .030 constriction so not much of a difference. But you said full for 26 and 27 and I was wandering if a light full would work. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  15. That is a really good point and I could say something else and we could go on and on arguing but I respect your opinion and I have mine and I doubt we will change each others. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  16. I think I use 6 instead of buck is because of this: Someone kicks your door in, you "set up" in your hall-way protecting your wife in the bedroom. You see the guy in the hall, your adrenaline is pumping and you ID him as an unknown, he charges at you and you begin dumping lead. You kill him and call the police. You go to wake up your daughter and make sure she is alright and guess what a pellet went through her door and killed her. I guess this is the reasoning behind not using buck shot. Now, if you live alone, and would not have to worry about your children or wife, then maybe it isn't such an issue. Not everything works for everyone. However, just food for thought. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  17. There is no reason why a shotgun should not be used but obviously I was talking about a shotgun loaded with 6. If you are in your home with a coyote in your yard you can put buckshot or a slug in without the coyote hearing you or you can use a rifle. I have shotguns for HD and shotguns for deer or coyotes or whatever. If I was a police officer not worrying about killing my kids and knowing I might have to use it for longer range I would load buckshot in my shotgun. I think I would have to see real evidence of a BG sewing someone for shooting them with bird shot on purpose not in self defense to believe it is possible. I would use buckshot if I lived by my self. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  18. I have shot a super sport a few times and it feels really good. The super sport would be my semi auto choice for trap it never jams with the game and fish shells like all other semi autos on my trap team. It also comes with extended chokes and a raised gel comb. If your looking for a beretta get an xtrema2. I dont know much about browning semi autos so I would not go for one of those but if you know someone who has one ask for their advice. For trap though my gun of choice is an over and under since benelli doesnt make those I like the browning citori and cynergy. Beretta also makes some nice over and unders. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  19. what about a light full __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  20. There was somebody in my town that had a thief break in and he shot him with 1 1/2oz of 6 shot it didnt kill him but it blinded him instantly and made a mess of his face stopping him untill the police came and the extra pellets didnt go through the wall keeping his family safe. If you see an animal in your back yard worth killing thats what the rifles in your collection are for. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  21. I prefer 12 gauge because there is a bigger variety available as far as ammo and chokes. If you can find the right ammo and the right choke and you prefer a 20 then go for it. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  22. 870-very durable, more available parts, simpler super nova-durable looks better, points good, more features __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  23. I have a champion easy hit sight in red on my super nova and in daylight it is like a lazer. It is so bright if you raise your head off the stock you can see a reflection of it on a camo rib. It helped me it keeps my eye on the skeet and it sits about exactly the same as the stock bead so I doubt it could mess you up unless you are looking for an excuse. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
  24. I dont know about Beretta but Benelli has a thing going with Realtree look on the Benelliusa home page at the bottom where all the sponsors are and it has the Realtree logo. Im with you though I would like to see some mossy oak Benellis. __________________ a-s-sume makes an a-s-s out of u and me
