Yeah, mine released a little at a time. It was a kind of "heat/turn a little/heat/turn a little" process till it was about 1/3 of the way out a which point it unscrewed the rest of the way fairly easily. Hookster

Hey Rocket, Yeah, We can do the folder with the pistol grip here on pumps but unfortunately it's a no-no on semi-autos. (makes them too darn scarey!!!) Take Care, Hookster

It depends what you want to use it for and what you like. What are some of your thoughts? Hookster

It would be considered an assault weapon (which is illegal) with a collasable / folding stock which also has a pistol grip. Here's how they put it: Assault Weapon Definition, Shotgun Section 12276.1. (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following: Rifle/Pistol sections deleted. (6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following: (A) A folding or telescoping stock. (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip. (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine. (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder. Later, Hookster

Hi Frolic, Yes you'll need a heat gun. Mine took about 15 minutes of heat to release all the way but I was bringing the heat up slowly. Here's a copy of the instructions in this thread: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17726 Take Care, Hookster

Ya' done good Steve! Now you can use that collapsable stock rebate $ for ammo/accessories. Hookster

Unobtanium wrapped that one up very nicely. Nothing to add except X2. Hookster

I believe someone who spoke with Kip reported that it would be similar to the Design Concepts handle (which is larger than stock) Hookster

Here's a review I did on the KZ with some pics starting on page 3 http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19590&highlight=kz Here are some more Sidearmor pics too http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19550&highlight=sidearmor http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19942&highlight=sidearmor Later, Hookster

Yes, Kip has a titanium charging handle in the works. Not sure of his time frame but it'll be worth the wait. Hookster

Hey Steve, Here's one for $150 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=145495982 Later, Hookster

Hey Ohio, Congrats on your purchase, an AR probably has a place in a small collection. These days there are so many things made for them you can configure them any way you please. I got my first AR when I was 15, they went for $279 back then (1976).......yeah...I know.. I'm old! Did I mention I rode my dinosaur to get to the gunshop. Later, Hookster

Thanks for the reply GutWrench. I hope my MRP's accuracy turns out as good as yours. I guess I'll just start with the 55gr and work my way heavier and see what it likes best. I've got lots of 62gr Lake City M885 on hand so I'm hoping it likes that o.k. The 75gr stuff is pretty expensive. Duggan is strong!!! Where's he been anyway? Yeah, I read an earlier post by StrangerDanger that the supplied torque wrench left something to be desired and it was very easy to miss the click. If I need to mess with the bolts I'll probably take it to my work and use a nice calibrated one. Later, Hookster

Hey GutWrench, Have you had a chance to compare how it does with Q3131AQ vs a heavier load? Thanks, Hookster

This sounds like a question for M1014

Hey Mark, I like your M6A2. LWRC is good stuff. Being a fellow Kalifornian, I'd love to have a Lewis lower to go with my new MRP but I can't bring myself to purchase anything with a bullet button or prince 50 setup. So, I'll be using it on one of my Bushmaster lowers which were registered as assalt weapons before the cutoff in 2000 so they have real working mag releases. I would like to see about a Lewis SOPMOD stock to go with it though. I saw some of the MagPul ACS stocks today. They are very SOPMODish but it would be nice to get the Lewis. Take Care, Hookster

Hey All, I just got back from the gun show at the Cow Palace in South San Francisco. I wasn't planning on spending much but the LMT MRP piston upper said if I didn't take it home there was going to be big trouble. Not being one to argue with upper receivers I did what it said. This might have been a mistake though, cause now it thinks it can order me around. It keeps telling me now that I need to buy it a set of Troy Tritium folding battle sights. Here's what it looks like: http://www.lewismachine.net/product.php?p=189&cid=6&session=c77332049565bad029075c2fbee7ec5a Hey, StrangerDanger! How does your MRP feel about 62 grain stuff. O.K.? All my previous AR uppers have been 1/9. I know the 1/7 likes the heavier stuff. Do I need to be ordering some 69-75 gr? Are you still happy with your Troys on there? Later, Hookster

Hey Dog, Congrats on the new M1. Numrich has PG stocks for $157 on this page: http://www.e-gunparts.com/products_new.asp?CatID=10308 Hookster

Hey GutWrench, I poked around a little but only saw Comfortechs available but you might want to post a WTB/WTT thread here and bump it once in awhile Later Hookster

You would be able to use Kips replacement rail with the KZ forend since you don't have to have the separate KZ top rail in place. The KZ forend section is secure without it. Hookster

Mesa is also working on a collapsable model but the fixed PG stock has priority right now. There are some prototype pics in post #2 of this thread: http://www.mesatactical.com/forum/vi...php?id=722&p=1 Later, Hookster

No whining here Unobtanium, But, since I can't legally put a collapsable stock on here in CA. I look forward to having the option to try a quality stock with a little shorter LOP and the cheek riser might offer a better cheek weld for using optics. Like you recently noted in your post here: http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20336 it's hard to get a good placement with the OEM PG stock. Take Care, Hookster
-
Yeah, I noticed there isn't a visible mechanism for locking the riser to desired height. I think it must have a tab that goes into the slot on the top of the stock (visible in post #34 of the Mesa thread) then maybe the top buttplate screw/bolt secures it at the height you want. I'm looking forward to trying one of these out! Hookster
