  1. I does give you a ramp to hold the shells against. They're not captive in the ramp at all, so you need to hold them in place.
  2. Thanks! I do have some of the RMR Sync models done in Dark Earth Cerakote. They match the Dark Earth color for the Benelli Cerakote models. I don't have any of the older models anymore.
  3. TI version? the TTI is good. Never tried the FFT model, but they seems damn near the same. There re is a magnabit tool that will go around each side of the pin as you drive it in. However, it's hard to keep the spring compressed with it. It's easier to follow unobtanium's instructions.
  4. Snap ring pliers and some punches. One of those Glock tools works well if you don't have a full punch set. The safety is the biggest pain. It's hard to get the pin back in place without damaging the spring. I drive the pin about half way in to the visible hole, then compress the spring with a punch so it is held in place under the roll pin. Then carefully drive the pin the rest of the way in. The trigger packs look complicated, but they really aren't that tough. I agree they should have just went with a black finish and left off the laser engraving.
  5. I'd pay just as much for a Geissele hammer used as I would a new one - they don't wear out. See you at the poor house Les - the cots are nice.
  6. I'll continue to buy these trigger packs for premium builds. It's easier than trying to find OEM aluminum ones. Plus the cast vs. machines finish is a real plus. No rough anodizing on moving contact points. I've had to file rough casting off of OeM parts 2 out of 3 times. I hope they'll keep making these for years to come.
  7. Must resist - your children's college education depends on it! Its not complete yet. I still need a NP3 finished Trijicon RMR, a DMW safety and an Ava Tactical mod 1. Then I have to get the safety and the mount plated. I'll probably send one of these new trigger packs in to plate as well.

  12. I blame Unobtanium for pointing me to the new A&S trigger guards for the Benelli M4. I grabbed one to test earlier this week. It just got here today. We're looking at a US made part for those that care. It has an enhanced ramp on the front face of the trigger guard for loading two rounds at a time. The fit and finish of the unit is far better than the OEM aluminum trigger guards. The finish is a high polished finish with a dark gray appearance. I'll try to upload a few pictures, but with Photobucket probably heading to Chapter 11 bankruptcy, we're stuck with the hosting service here. I installed the unit on my H20 Extreme with the beveled out magazine well and a TTI lifter. https://aandsengineering.wordpress.com/page4-2/
  13. I think they're focusing on magazine tubes so they don't end up in the 6+ month wait periods.
  14. Me too - but I'm more of a machin'ish than a machinist! You do much better work than I am capable of.
  15. Its a pain in the dick to make them out of two different materials. A rigid steel shank and a titanium knob portion with absolute perfect knurling. Then I assumed press fit together and possibly a few magical incantations. Then putting finishes on the knob and shank are different. Parkerizing on the shank and maybe ion bond on the knob. The transition point between the titanium knob and the shank is so perfect that you can't even see a transition point. No line or obvious interface of the parts. I don't if they put some kind of epoxy to mate the two pieces together or if it's simply a tension fit.
  16. I'll kick myself whenever another run of handles is done! I'd kind of feel bad if I gouged someone that badly, what is that, 900% markup? I tried to finance 500 of them from carriercomp to motivate them to do another run - went nowhere.
  17. Someone offered me 500 for the one I have. I declined. The things are appreciating like bitcoins.
  18. Glad I could help. It's only scary doing the first one. After that you realize it's a piece of cake. I try to keep up with the messages, but lately I've been traveling a lot for work and sometimes fall behind. Photobucket turned in to a real Jerry and screwed up all my hosted pictures.
  19. The gap is normal until you tighten it down. I don't think that area is the problem. I'd be interested in looking at the spring loaded detent that the teeth on the magazine cap engage on. I'd also look at the teeth on the magazine cap themselves. My thinking is, even if there was something wrong with the seat depth of the M4, the tightened magazine cap should not be able to unscrew by itself no matter what. Another option would be to reinstall the original magazine tube to see if the problem occurs with it vs. the FFT magazine tube. Can you take a picture of that detent and the magazine cap's under side? Try pressing on the detent with a flat tool to see how much tension it is providing. Look at the other end of the detent to make sure the spring didn't come out of the witness hole. Other more unlikely causes are possibly a defective magazine cap. I'd look at the threads to look for any kind of weird wear. If you can, take a picture of where the front of the handguards also seat. I'm wondering if they reassembled the spring correctly inside the front barrel hanger when they did the H20 plating?
  20. Is your magazine tube loose as well, or just the magazine cap nut? When tightening the magazine nut, do you feel it engaging the ratcheting teeth on the bottom edge of the magazine cap?
  21. Really nice setup! Those shotgun cards are the best. Far better than any other shell carrier out there from a weigh and use ability perspective. How much does the chest heat rig loaded out weigh?
  22. I'd go for the 50 meters that you're typically shooting at. After sighting in the Aimpoint, you can adjust the laser to match at 50 meters. As your range changes closer or further, expect there to be some parallax. Test some buckshot you plan on using at that range so you get an idea of the pattern size.
  23. What kind of laser? pick a range and sight it in with slugs on a paper target from a steady position.
  24. Contact Benelli customer service. It shouldn't be doing that. Around 2004 Benelli changed the barrel design to add an enlarged shroud around the base of the barrel. This shroud gave a larger seating surface for the barrel/receiver fit. This change occurred between the 11703 release and the 11707.
  25. Terrible design. If you tighten the bolt that goes through the trigger group retainer too much, it'll squeeze the receiver and cause the bolt carrier to bind. If you don't tighten it enough, it falls apart. Further, you'd have to take like six screws out of the rubberized cover to get to the mounting bolt/nut. So any time you had to disassemble the weapon for cleaning, you'd have to strip all this down. The rubberized part was actually decent and retained the shells well. The mounting system was a rusty coat hanger abortion. Worst. Shell Carrier. Ever.
