  1. Can you read? Seriously. 550 FTF (that's face to face). Shipping to FFL extra. Don't know how much clearer I can be. Obviously I would like to sell this rifle locally rather than going through the hassle of shipping to an FFL. The long-standing members of this forum have the worst attitudes I have ever seen on a message board, especially towards newcomers. Do you not have anything better to do than waste your time hijacking someone's thread and generally making yourself look like a complete ass?
  2. Actual pictures and proof of ownership available to serious buyers. Not hard to prove that I'm not a thief, robber, or otherwise. It's pricks like you that make this one of the worst forums on the internet. Again, if you don't have any interest, keep your opinions to yourself. You don't have a dog in the race. Go get a life, dude.
  3. Maybe you should. I've priced this lower than what I paid for it. Do you want me to give it away? Able's: 556.79 + shipping + FFL transfer & NICS Impact: 550.99 + shipping + FFL transfer & NICS Me: 550 out the door, no questions asked. And those are online prices. This rifle is nearly $600 + tax from my local dealer, and he has some of the lowest gun shop prices around. Please don't turn this into another "I don't like your price thread." This has been hashed out several times on here. Why even opine if you aren't interested?
  4. Looks like the moderators graciously removed M1014's unsolicited picture of his safe queens. Thank you, mods.
  5. Cash only please. Everything on my "wish list" is well beyond $550, and I don't have the money for boot right now. Thanks for your interest.
  6. Brand new, never fired, never mounted a scope. This one has been in my safe since purchased new in mid-2008. 26" heavy barrel synthetic stock with wide vented forend dual studs for bi-pod and sling mounting Actual pictures and proof of ownership available to serious buyers. Stock photo below: $550 FTF, shipping to FFL extra. I am located in Middle Tennessee. CASH ONLY. NO TRADES PLEASE. Thanks for your consideration!
  7. How about some pics of your new 'nova? I'd like to see an actual picture of one in desert camo. Congrats on the purchase!
  8. Dang, didn't know there was a secondary market for these! In that case, mine's for sale too. Haha!
  9. Still considering one of these tubes since I would like to get something quick. What is the deal with ordering one of these? Is socomguy flooded with orders or does he not want to sell anything? I still haven't gotten a response from my email last week.
  10. PM sent, Kip. Thanks for going the extra step to improve your products!
  11. What's the best way to place an order for one of socomguy's tubes? I sent him an email through the forum days ago but haven't heard anything. Still considering Kip's since the ordering process is painless. It just looks like Kip's desert tan finish doesn't match the M4 desert camo. Any ideas?
  12. Man, you guys are so sensitive. The SBE II is my duck gun. Using it for turkey hunting wasn't in the cards. I only stated that in my experience a pump would have been more than adequate for turkey hunting. My first turkeys were killed with an old single-shot NE Pardner with 3" magnums. Ouch! Obviously, I was already thinking the SuperNova was the better idea. I wanted someone to give me input one way or the other and talk me into another SBE II (set up for turkeys) if they thought it was worth it over the pump. I would happily buy another semi-auto if someone could convince me that it was the best choice for turkey hunting. I made that clear in my original post. Anyway, thanks.
  13. For some reason I just can't believe that statement is 100% truthful. 1) You are 23 years old, and I've never known a 23 year old to have $4,000 for a pistol, 2) if you ever had the money and went to the trouble of waiting 6 months to a year for a Wilson Supergrade to be built for you, at one time you loved the 1911, and 3) Wilson simply does not deliver a Supergrade that doesn't "run" right. Your statement sounds like one from a classic 1911 hater (or an immature kid), and there are plenty of you out there. Either you don't know how to operate a semi-auto, or you've never actually owned either of the two pistols that you mentioned. Anyway, the 1911 is my passion. I won't even go into how many different models I have, because most of you probably wouldn't believe me. I will say that I have several Kimbers, and I just purchased my last one a couple of weeks ago. It arrived with a poor fit and finish with multiple cosmetic issues, and Kimber was less than helpful in resolving the issues. Kimber's quality problems are well documented, and its build quality and customer service have really declined over the last couple of years. A few years ago Kimber made the finest production 1911 out there, but that is no longer the case. Do some reading on m1911.org forums. That's where you should be asking for a recommendation, not on a shotgun forum. Owning several different 1911 models in the price range you gave, I would purchase another Springfield TRP. The quality on both of my TRP's are second to none, and the slide to frame fit is as good as any Nighthawk, Wilson, or Yost custom that I've ever seen. The TRP really is a bargain for what you get, if those are the features you want. It's a combat style pistol and deviates somewhat from the classic 1911 design. It really depends on what your tastes are. The main drawback to the TRP is the 20lpi machined front strap checkering, which is a little rough. Some people tolerate it, others send it back to Springfield to have it smoothed down a little. Check out m1911.org. You'll learn all you ever wanted to know about the 1911. Good luck with your search.
  14. Well, this thread sure went to the toilet. Thanks to all those who gave constructive input. I've got an SBE II that I use for duck hunting, so I may just go with the SuperNova for turkeys. And really, why would I buy a Remington when I could have a Benelli?
  15. I meant I have missed one bird. My other kills have been with one shot. I haven't ever had to shoot one twice or had the opportunity to shoot at one twice.
  16. I guess I've been lucky on the one-shot hunts. The only bird that I ever "missed" was gone before I had a chance to even think about shooting again. In the past I've turkey hunted with an 870 Wingmaster, but I want to retire it up because it was my dad's gun. On the 24 vs. 28" barrel, hasn't it been pretty well established that a 24" will pattern just as well as a longer barrel with the modern loads and the right choke? A red dot scope will definitely be going on this gun. Any recommendations? I see the $2700 SBE II super-duper turkey gun comes with a burris fastfire, but I really don't want to deal with all those rails and mounts. Does anything mount directly to the receiver?
  17. wingshooter, how about some pictures of your new turkey gun? Do you have it in hand yet? How long was the wait?
  18. Guys, I'm going to buy a new turkey gun before next season. I will only turkey hunt with what I buy. My initial thought was to buy a SBE II with the 24" barrel and pistol grip stock, but in my experience, turkey hunting is a one-shot deal, so why shouldn't I go with the SuperNova with the same stock and barrel as the SBE II? I would buy the SBE II without hesitating if I thought a semi-auto had a real purpose in turkey hunting. Someone talk me into one or the other!
  19. Sounds good. Will it be larger than the stock handle? I'll definitely be on the lookout for it.
  20. Wow, that's a lot of $$$ for something that doesn't make much of a difference in the function of the weapon. Why are these bringing so much? What's the draw?
  21. Reports like these make me wish I hadn't chosen a camo finish on my new SBE II. I'll be the first to admit that the finish doesn't appear to be very durable. Looks like I'll have to be extra careful to keep it looking decent.
  22. I like that one too! One of these rail systems is definitely in my M4's future. Will start researching these after I get the mag tube squared away.
  23. I'm not a fan of Rem Oil either. It needs to be reapplied every few days. I like Breakfree CLP as a long term lubricant. For precision oiling on my 1911 pistols, I use Lucas Gun Oil. It sounds funny, but it's the best gun oil I have ever used. Just the right consistency, and it lasts a very long time. For shotguns I usually spray down the internals with Birchwood Casey Gun Cleaner or Breakfree Powder Blast. Carburetor cleaner works just as well, but I wouldn't want to use it on a camo finish. I apply a light coat of CLP after that and wipe off the excess.
