  1. The Safariland LED is also an option.....using either side of the mount.
  2. The standard SureFire X200-300 series easily mount to the AVATactical Picatinny rail. The X-300 ultra-500 lumen does with just a small amount of movement once secured to the rail.....slight modifications to the present design will expand the opportunity of the design to accommodate new iterations of these devices. This mount is machined with very close tolerances....you must be gentle starting screws with your fingertips on the torx tool to make sure there is no cross-threading; the head of the torx screws barely fit in holes of the mounts....not a complaint !.....just a heads up it's a nicely machined device that should be mounted with care.
  3. Safariland light as seen by operator. QD attaches to AVATactical Picatinny rail.......remove it an put it in your shirt pocket or hang it on your duty belt.
  4. A few lights mounted to AVATactical's Benelli M4 mount.....just starting to tinker with it's potential. These are on a 14" M4 .......SideArmor full rail system plus the AVAT mount way up front. Then without the extra rails.....a Safariland thin LED light......doesn't get much smaller profile than this.
  5. Can we at least agree it's not welded in place ?? For a professional result, you have to have patience, the correct tools and great instructions!

  9. The disassembly goes like this. Photo's by permission: Benelli M4 Anatomy Series Manual
  10. You will need to use a specialty 13 mm deep socket .....not your run of the mill deep socket, as shown; the length of the bolt that requires the use of a "slave" nut is too long for most common tools.
  11. This is how the parts are related internally. Photo's by permission; Benelli M4 Anatomy Series Manual
  12. SD......you're killin' me. These are the parts. Photo's by permission: Benelli M4 Anatomy Series Manual

  14. The plate is not welded; the plate has a center bolt (8M x 1.0) that is threaded on both ends that holds all the parts together ! Look down the receiver end of the field stock with a LED light and you will see the other end. If they had the Benelli M4 Anatomy Series Manual they would know that it's not welded. The schematic shows all the parts.
  15. I just received the AVAtactical mount for the Benelli M4. Superbly machined; fit and finish of the anodized mount is scrumptous ! I will be trying a variety of SureFire lights with the mount in the coming days and upload the photo's.
  16. Mesa Tactical QD mount slightly modified on the M4 SBS; forward QD mount on rail system to convert to a 2-point situation if desired.
  17. Jason4x4 It used to be newbies had to have 10 posts before you can attach photo's ?
  18. this is for Roofless.......everyone else close your eyes and move on. .......this rare modification is to allow one to use the cartridge control latch to move the forward end of the carrier latch inward when the carrier is in the upward position (something that is not allowed in the standard configuration; essentially disabling the cartridge stop feature of the latch, to release the cartridges from the magazine rather than depressing that part of the carrier latch to remove the cartridge(s). It is not for the faint of heart, or the untalented with the expectation that most will probably wreck their carrier the first time they attempt it...it is a precision modification, requiring leaving enough material to not interfere with the structural integrity of the right side of the carrier while still providing relief for the latch to move as desired. The area that needs to be relieved on the carrier is shown in the photo below
  19. Nice photos SD.......if you are going to be doing these type of trigger group assemblies more than 1-2 times, taking the time to fabricate a brass precision slave pin, rather than a typical alignment pin is worthwhile.......allowing all the sub-assemblies to be composed, then drop the carrier into position and slowly displace the slave pin with the trigger bushing (which cannot be done with a standard alignment pin in place)..... usually no more cussing necessary ! Not surprisingly, the Franchi and Benelli trigger groups have many similarities, an example below. Photos by permission: Franchi SPAS 12 Trigger Groups Anatomy Series Manual

  21. My Benelli cartridge stops have always been stiff. I don't have a solution to your question, although I have deliberated on it quite a bit; some two cent thoughts on the topic follow. I know it is often recommended that the "correct way" to unload a shotgun is to not cycle the cartridge thru the chamber to eject it. However, I use my fingers for a living and have not found a single shotgun with a cartridge stop that is easy to depress to remove cartridges from the magazine, so I usually cycle them thru the chamber; if all the usual gun safety rules are followed, there is no safety reason not to. I don't buy into the opinion of less wear and tear on the internal mechanism(s) as a reason to insert one's finger into fairly a tight space with sharp edged parts under high spring tension, especially in the gauges smaller than 12. I believe I have seen almost all the various methods for modifying the Benelli cartridge latch, most often in the context to ease the rapid insertion of cartridges, usually for the purpose of lessening time during competition events. I don't know of any that succeed in that goal without weakening the part. The fundamental problem in solving the problem(s) is the simplicity of Benelli design that employs a single part, the carrier latch to have multiple tasks on opposite ends.
