1. The watch on his left wrist is normally worn there by a right hander, but he's shooting lefty.
2. He got 100% of the dead vote and even more of the live vote in some precincts.
3. The video was interesting, but I was thinking about asking Streamlight if they recommended using this light mounted on a weapon. Looks like a great light for the price, even if they say no. I was thinking about this one with a single cell CR123a light: http://www.amazon.com/Single-Shotgun-Magazine-Tubes-Mount/dp/B003V08BAM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1355448878&sr=8-5&keywords=flashlight+shotgun+mount+L+M but it might work with that one also.
4. How do you plan to mount it on the SNT and is it rated as a weapon light? Not all handhelds are designed to withstand the recoil of a shotgun.
5. Same quality, but pretty sure only the Super Nova has the top of the receiver drilled, tapped, and plugged for your sight rail or the Mesa Tactical SureShell and rail combo: The Nova NFA with the 14" bbl. is the one that interests me most of all the Nova models, but would be even better as the SNT with a collapsible stock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CRA5xBsqYs
6. Keep in mind the Nova has a standard straight fixed stock that is not removeable and you have a choice of straight or fixed stock on the SuperNova, plus aftermarket options. There are other differences, like the larger trigger guard on the SNT.
7. I'm voting for the capitalist in this race. He will protect the gun industry, which is one of the few sectors that have done well these last few years.
8. That Streamlight mount would work and clear the forend when reversed to keep the light from extending past the muzzle. One drawback is the teeth on the cap do not contact the ball. When it is held in place with an extension, the support clamp would keep the extension from turning, but your cap might not stay tight. It requires some grinding with a Dremel tool to lay flat and a hole drilled where the ball is. If you want to try the one I have, let me know.
9. If you use the shotgun in a home defense situation, you will not notice the recoil at all. As for practice at the range, cowboy up! I usually shoot 2 3/4" field loads for practice with some 00 buck in the mix and always seem to be able to walk away to shoot another day. You might feel it in your shoulder later, but you will survive. I remind my daughter and son to keep it snug up against their shoulder and they never have a problem either. If you hold it loose, the felt recoil is increased.
10. I had this Nitecore Extreme light and VLTOR Scout mount on hand and modified a Streamlight 69906 rail adaptor for the Super Nova Tactical. The rail adaptor was designed for an 870, but only took a few minutes and a Dremel tool to fit the Benelli. The single CR123 battery light has a setting for strobe or full bright when first clicked on and is very bright. The mount could be rotated under the barrel or reversed on either side to mount the light further back and still clear the slide. The flaw is it does not allow the detents on the cap to engage the ball, so I'm going another route.
11. I check in here regularly and see you over on Bersachat too! You don't even have to own a Bersa to go there! They are a good bunch too.
12. I think you would be fine shooting slugs with the IC choke installed.
13. I sent a PM about the round limiter plug that came with the M2 is a steel rod that attaches in the end of the mag extension. Seem to recall the early HK M1S90 had an orange plastic plug that just slid in the tube like a dowel, but don't know about later M1 models.
14. How much difference in length is there between the end of the muzzle and the end of the magazine tube? If only an inch or so, that's the full length extension, if 5"-6" that is the shorter one. If you have a full extension and not able to get more than 3 or 4 in it, maybe there is a plug installed preventing full capacity.
15. If the grinding is on the edge of the ring on the barrel side, no problem, as long as it fits well over the mag tube. Thanks for the reply.
16. Thanks, I did send them an email after posting this thread. The first choice is the Streamlight rail or something like it, because it doesn't have the slot for the sling. I prefer the sling to hang down from the bottom using the existing holes and QR sling swivels. There is also the Streamlight 69903, which clamps over the tube instead of being held in place by the end cap or extension like the 69906, but don't know if it fits the SNT tube either. http://www.streamlight.com/documents/brochures/TLRAccessoriesChart.pdf 69906 shown, 69903 is like the 69901 pictured, but with 3 clamp bolts instead of just 2.
17. I already have a light with VLTOR picatinny mount and looking for the simplest way to solidly mount it to the Super Nova Tactical. Will this Streamlight 69906 mount for the 870 fit the mag tube on a Super Nova? : http://shop.gunsfishing.com/Streamlight-Tlr-Rem-870-Mag-Tube-Rail-P17264.aspx Even if it takes some customizing to fit the groove around the barrel lug, is the diameter of the hole the same on an 870? I also saw the BLAM4 for the M4, but don't really need the sling mount. Will it fit a Super Nova? http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=44716/avs|Manufacturer_1=CORPS TECHNOLOGY GROUP/Product/BENELLI-M4-BLAM-4-LIGHT-MOUNT
18. Nice shotguns, but the price makes the regular M4 looks like a bargain. The telescoping stock MSRP is $2399.00 and the fixed pistol grip stock is just $130 less. As quickdraw stated above, the $2k M4 is going for $1325, so paying that much above full MSRP is a risky investment. I expect to see the M4 H2O in the $1900-$2200 range
19. Mine is cut 11" longer than the end of the magazine tube before adding the extension, which extends 5" past the muzzle. The extension comes with a threaded ring and the assembly replaces the stock end cap. I do use the magazine support clamp that is included. As mentioned before, with that spring length the total magazine capacity increases to 7 2 3/4" shells...even the Federal LE 00 buck shells that are reported to be longer than some others.
20. I can measure the cut length of the spring from that kit on mine when I get home. Capacity increased by 3 for me to 7 + 1.
21. All the extensions I have bought for Benelli shotguns have come with longer springs that were made to fit the longest barrel/magazine combinations and had to be cut to work with the shorter barrel shotguns. The only exception was the +2 extension for the M1014 which works with the original spring. What I don't know is if your new M4 comes with the same length spring as the 4+1 models or a longer spring that was cut for your full length mag tube. If the latter, maybe it wasn't cut enough to allow full capacity. Easy fix if that's the case. Also, the suggestion to try another brand of shells is a good one.
22. First I'd check the spring and follower by removing them, placing the follower on the spring before inserting in the tube. When it's fully inserted with the spring inside the follower, how many inches does the spring extend past the end of the mag tube? I'm wondering if the overall spring length is the same as the stock M4 spring without the extension or if there is a longer spring that was not cut to allow full capacity.
23. The H2O model is a Nova and is available only with rifle sights, so it has the fixed stock, smaller trigger guard, and the top of the receiver is not drilled and tapped when compared to your Super Nova. I live near the ocean also and have never had a rust problem with any Benelli, but do like the appearance of the H2O. If I was storing it on a boat, I'd probably go with the H2O. I see there is a 14" bbl NFA Tactical Nova available now.
24. I see there is one on Gun Broker (gunbroker.com) .... search supernova tactical instead of super nova. Seller is rated A+.
25. That's a fact! Here are the results I got at 10 yds. through my Super Nova 18.5":
