  1. I like the bolt release. Maybe. .----------------.Stranger Danger, take a close look at that Sling Loop on the front end. Look familiar?
  2. Ahhh cool..Note, I suspect Photobucket will find a way to shut this down eventually.
  3. BW -You may see something different than others that are not logged into Photobucket...This is what I see...;;;;;;
  4. Lol... NO. not you!!!!!! I'd never imagine.
  5. It's possible that tightening as tight as you can isn't required and has a bad result.
  6. What I meant was leaving it permanently torqued to the lower spec, and if it shot on zero when cool with the mag cap at a low enough torque spec the barrel didn't deform when heated....
  7. For the record, when I asked if you still had your rig, i was going to see if you wanted to test with more barrels I have in hand. When I get out I will test mine. Hoping others do as well - wasn't intended to be directing you to do more testing. Since you said that once it was hot, if you released the mag tube cap and re-secured it you were all back on target. Did you let it cool down and see if the cap was tight enough for work at resting temp? Was it on target with the cap like this when cool? If so, just adjusting torque spec downwards would seem to be the solution, it's detented after-all.
  8. Need to mount your RDS out at the end of the barrel. Or, we need to develop a new thermal expansion compensating mag tube cap... But seriously, need to do this with more barrels. Possibly more M4s. Side by side testing. One thing that seems odd that a barrel deflection resulting in a 12 MOA of difference would allow for the sights to follow in line that perfectly... I know the front sight is at the tip of the barrel but still...
  9. If you still have the rig, I have barrels.
  10. You happen to try a different barrel? You still have the rig?
  11. I was under the impression that when you file a F1, you are the maker and since you are making the NFA item, it needs to be engraved with the Maker's Name, City and State. This is the way my SBR was done. I.E. The maker is not Benelli/Beretta, since they did not make the NFA item - they made a Title II arm - you are 'Making the NFA' arm and applying to do so with your F1. That was what I had understood anyway, certainly not an expert here.
  12. Although, and I am not an expert, but I think you can opt to have the barrel engraved instead.
  13. Only advantage to buying a complete SBS, is you don't have to have the receiver engraved. If you build your own - by buying or having the barrel chopped down - you need to have your receiver NFA engraved and file your F1. If you buy a complete SBS, that's a F4.
  14. Also there are bunch of complete M4 SBSs on GB. I wish it was that way when I was in the market for one.
  15. You can buy a 14" barrel, file your own F1.
  16. That would be 5 compared to the 7 on a full length tube. It uses the exact same tube size as a stock (consumer) M4 here in the US. I have a CC TI 5 Rd tube on mine. The nice lady at CC couldn't hardly believe I was ordering one.
  17. I supported this procedure. This M4 identifies as quiet.
  18. Sometime prior to Jul 2012. I don't have the box anymore so I lack any manufactured dates or other data that might provide. I can take closer pictures of the face of the barrel. I do recall hearing that they chopped down the 18" barrels to make these. In fact, I think someone said many of them were done state side at the Beretta facilities. Who knows. What I do know for sure, is that it's awesome. No complaints. In fact, I sent my barrel of to RAS a few months back and they threaded it for a choke. In prep for something. I didn't do it because I wanted a choke.
