  1. Sell em both and get a Mossberg 590A1?
  2. I always thought that was what it was for as well. Also as a shell guide. But then I wondered why it acted so well as to guide the thumb into a chomping position! I also wondered why if it worked so well, why all the guys who are so good at shooting shotguns welded it up!
  3. I'm curious why the cutout is there in the first place. If competition guys want them welded up, why wouldn't combat guys want the same thing. It must serve a purpose.
  4. Has anybody complained about the TTI's breaking?
  5. I just bought one of these couple months back. Mine freely spins, no 3 position detent like the stock one. But mine is well relieved and cannot touch the receiver like the OP's does.
  6. Spacing Paragraphs is Nothing more Than hitting Multiple carriage returns, or the enter key for you youngsters...
  7. I have Torches, heat guns, and blow dryers. The Blow Dryer seemed to be the weapon of choice for this task. Sometimes the smallest hammer is the right hammer
  8. Well... Now I know another thing to be unhappy about when my old one breaks... I just checked this one and it puts out over 300 degrees pretty quickly. I know my showerhead is illegal... I take it out, use it, and stow it away above a ceiling tile. Ya oughta see my toilet flush, got a hidden resovoir and I hogged out the Flush valve, that flush is a sight to behold. But my hair dryer, just bone stock. And i guess ol' school, cuz it gets hot enough.
  9. Really shouldn't have to ruin anything. The advantage of heating the receiver is that it expands away from the tube. If you heat the tube, it expands against the receiver. When I did it, i just figured it WAS an expensive piece and I would take my time and heat it to the bare minimum to get it loose. So I just ran a hair dryer and heated all sides of the receiver to get it where the mag tube would just move by hand with gloves on. Started twisting it out, it cooled a bit after a few turns and got stuck, so re-heated it back up with some of the blow dryer. Then continued twisting it out. Receiver was clamped in a large vise with plastic jaws. I did not glue in the New tube
  10. I heated mine with my wife's hair dryer. Got the receiver up to about 180 degrees and the magazine started turning by hand. Had to apply heat a few times to keep it up around that temp or it would get tight. Seems like there are a million threads there when you start trying to screw it off. I would rather heat the receiver than the mag tube.
  11. Hi, Haven't got around to the safety yet. Unfortunately not an easy slip in, so might take a bit for it.
  12. It came with the screw, but it is the same spec screw that the stock one used. I like the sight a lot. They need just a smidgen of light to work. Work very well with a front mounted Flashlight and nothing else. In a room with no light, they will pick up any small amount of light from an adjacent room.
  13. Tuning... Better known as a trigger job, and the Briley has one. The review is searchable, this is not a huge forum, it's only a few pages back off the main page. I'm too lazy to hunt it down for you. I would search Briley though as a start.
  14. I did not see it as a bad deal. Take your usual 3 trigger parts (FFT $205) add install charge add trigger tuning charge $270 seems pretty fair. The trigger quality was reviewed positively on the forum here.
  15. I've noticed this at transfers as well. You need to throw the brakes on the FFL till you "accept" it. I'm sure the instructions at Bud's says that. I have bought from them as well.
  16. That's how it starts! I just wish it was like Heroin. They give you the first one for free to get you hooked...
  17. I have a XS front sight in mine and an LPA rear Fiberoptic sight I haven't shown it here yet because I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet and see if it works. The front sight is considerably taller. If the XS Sight does not work. I'll buy a stock sight, mill it out, drill it and put a FO rod in it. That's the only way to get a decent FO sight till out friend Stranger Danger gets in that business... or FFT maybe.
  18. Purely market share driven Not a lot of people out there like the nutz around here who will pay that much for a shotgun. You can get anything ya want for a Mossy 500/590 or Rem 870 or the Chinese versions of each one cause there's a bazillion of them out there. IMO we're lucky to have the stuff we do when you consider the demand.
  19. Nice Shotguns, I do likes me some Mossberg... @ AVATactical If ya need another Beta Tester send me one too!
  20. I know this is off topic but thought someone here may be ablt to help me on this. I am interested in buying a Henry H010CC Rifle in 45-70 https://www.henryrifles.com/rifles/color-case-hardened-edition/ I would like to change it up a bit though 1) Shorten Octagonal barrel from 22" to 18.5" or so 2) Smooth action and work trigger pull to around 4# I really like this rifle and am not interested in Uberti, Marlins, Rossi, Pederoli, etc. Just want it modded a bit by someone who knows what they are doing. Can anyone recommend someone? Bonus points for South Florida!
  21. Avatactical is worth waiting for and saving for. They have no competition in this application.
  22. Sending you a PM about the Geissele Hammer
