    M4 Final Setup

    Good copy, thank you.

    M4 Final Setup

Appreciate it. Thanks Sukhoi. I assume since my M1014 has the integral choke, employing this part is not in the cards for me?

    M4 Final Setup

Does this require an adapter or anything? I’ve seen Limbsaver recommended previously and done research (all great recommendations) and only found comments on fit issues & that it doesn’t come with hardware, but it also seems like some of LS’s buttpads require adapters. Does this require choke threads in the barrel or does it mount externally? Initial research inconclusive. Would you use the same again or recommend I look at another offering. Again, thanks Sigma.
  4. Yeah, I’ve read about/watched videos on ghost loading but came across folks warning against doing it due to potential for damaging the lifter/carrier/shell stop? Can’t speak 1st person but they seemed credible so I’ve not done it. Kind of a bummer because, due to the trigger, hammer & safety configuration I’m not comfortable storing it loaded so I’d love to sneak another shell in there if I’ve misdiagnosed the risk of “ghost loading”. Thoughts others on this? I believe Benelli’s product description says something like, “fixed modified choke” but my M1014 is just 18.5” of chrom

Sigma- Could you please share the following: - Part # of the LimbSaver pad - Make/model of the door breacher - Is the single shell holder part of the hand guard or separate? - - If separate, make/model? Thanks in advance.

    Sling Ergonomics?

Nice. I had BFG sew a QD into the front of the custom sling I ordered from them knowing it would be connecting to the IWC light mount and I left the back free. Just placed an order at IWC for the mount and at BFG for another 1.25” QD. The one I got on my sling seems solid, guess no reason to deviate from that. If this set up meets my need I just might ship the sling back to BFG to have the rear sewn in also. Appreciate the suggested caution around connection of the QD. I’ll be sure to give them a tug test before putting weight on. Sounds like a lesson learned through experience..

    Sling Ergonomics?

Awesome Stranger. I love Earl’s stuff, no qualms with adding more! What is your favorite male QD maker? IWC & BFG both offer them, in addition to the tens or hundreds of probably off-brand/foreign-made available on AMZN, eBay, etc.
  8. Second one was helpful also, thanks Scout!

    Sling Ergonomics?

Can’t say how or why, but this absolutely works. Thanks to both you Sigma, and whoever shared it with you!

Nice, I’ll try it today and report back. Thanks Sigma!

    Sling Ergonomics?

Interesting. Below the red mark is where it is currently attached, but both front & rear are attached on the left side of the weapon. Are you saying keep the front mounted to the left side but run the rear to the right side?

    Sling Ergonomics?

The M4 is my first shotgun so I’m unsure if the way Benelli designed the sling mounts- specifically the orientation of them- is usual for SGs, but I don’t love how it results in the weapon laying on its side when slung. I have a padded BFG sling mounted via QD to an IWC mount up front and the rear of the sling runs through the provided slot in the stock. When hung from my shoulder however, the weapon rotates clockwise and the pistol grip contacts my waist/hip area. I’m not so worried about comfort as when walking with this setup I have to use my right hand to stabilize/orient the M4 to k
  13. Truck, this video is solid gold and I’m irritated I somehow didn’t find it myself earlier as I was searching on functionality of the CDL. Confirms what I’d figured out myself plus I learned multiple use scenarios I hadn’t imagined. Thank You!

    tek, this might help
  15. Ignore this, going to keep working with the weapon to understand the CDL. *why is there sometimes an option to edit a post here and sometimes not?
  16. New to this forum (found you after a recent first Benelli purchase, an M1014), and I’m extremely curious to learn this weapon system. On this episode of “What does this feature of my Benelli M1014 do?”, the Cartridge Drop Lever is a mystery to me. Disclaimer: I’ve read the 138 page M4 manual cover-to-cover- 5+ times- and it seems to disagree with my experience shooting the M4, specifically regarding the Cartridge Drop Lever. I took it to the range today and fired 102 shells through it, 20 slug and 82 00B. Yes, my shoulder is bruised and it feels like Andre The Giant shoulder-c
  17. Super interesting, thanks for sharing those! You said that 2 3/4” refers to the fired length? Curious if the median length of these shells would be closer to 2 3/4” open. The 2 3/4” Federal 00B & slug I purchased are not equal length as unfired, I’ll be curious to put empty shells of each in the caliper and see if they’re the same length fired.
  18. Yeah, that’s my bad. I’m [obviously] new to shotguns and I assumed that a 2 3/4” shell would literally be 2 3/4” so, by comparison, the dummy rounds were proportionally shorter (side by side the dummy round looked ~1/4” shorter so= ~2 1/2”). It didn’t occur to me to measure the live shells until your post, and now that I measure the dummy rounds, they’re only 2.21” long. *caliper is good
  19. Good stuff Scout, I appreciate it. Strange thing about this ammo is it’s 2.37” long per my caliper. Verified on a second one to double check I made sure the spring retainer was a hair below the end when I reassembled so there wasn’t much there to gain. I like your idea on leaving it out a hair and squaring with the end using the cap, will definitely do that going forward. I also throughly molested the follower while cleaning the factory coatings off and am confident there’s nothing in it hanging the spring up, but again, great call out I’d read about clipping the spring- bo
  20. Picked up my new M1014 Sunday and the first thing I did was read the manual cover to cover. The second thing I did was read it cover to cover again. Then, following the manual, I disassembled the weapon, cleaned it (found some metal shavings, unexpected) and lubed it, again, according to the manual. My issue: Since picking it up and cleaning/lubing, I’ve been practicing loading, chambering, etc. but cannot get more than four 2 3/4” Federal shells in the tube. When inserting the fifth shell, the stack bottoms out with approx. 1/4” of the fifth round left out. I’ve searched this
  21. Hate to bring the dead back to life, but... Hi all. My name is Rex and I am on wait-day 6 for my M1014. Of the few mods I want to apply out of the gate, a light mount is one. And, as I like to “do it right the first time”, AVA’s offerings have made the top of my list. Having found zero bearing on a timeline for AVA mount availability I recently ordered IWC components to mount my SF Fury but would still like to come by an AVA solution, even if the timeline is longer (but at least known or anticipated). Anyone have line of sight to AVA’s resumed production? Thanks in a
