  1. I inspected several random boxes I have, all shells were smooth as a baby's bottom. IDK about yours, maybe they got caught in the cabbage shredder/borscht maker.
  2. What mag-fed are you running? I have a couple, Vepr 12 never fails, Kalash... not so much
  3. That's a good question! I prefer a 5 round card, any larger and it seems to interfere with my grip. However, a 7 round card fits perfectly in a 30 round ar15 mag carrier. Carrying extra loaded cards is a good idea. You can pull off the empty card and slap on a loaded one in 2 seconds, empty, they lay flat too.
  4. Yes they're trying to make a buck and yes, there's a distinct possibility it will fit as they've stated. If it were me I'd just keep the standard stock as long as the LOP was correct for me. IMO the only real advantage to the pistol grip is shooting across your chest not shouldered, very limited use. There is a tacticool factor to a pistol grip but it also increases the height of the gun considerabily; your M4 as is will fit in a scabbard easily. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.
  5. Depends on what you want Mr. Whiplash. There's all manner of pouches; I have a chest rig with elastic that holds 25 but it's slow. I REALLY want an Invictus 3-gun belt, it's pricey but really the only thing keeping me from it is the belt attachments and the differences between them. I need to study them because I want to dual and quad load well.
  6. Interesting, I shot 7 boxes with zero failures. I didn't notice any burred edges but I'm not the brightest crayon in the box so I may have missed it. I'll try some in a Vepr 12 I have but its never failed either. Maybe that's what the reviewer meant by "inconsistent". I'm going to start a database of actual calipered shell lengths of different brands. I REALLY want 7 shells in the tube!
  7. *patterned*
  8. My local Academy Sports had Fetter 00 buck on sale so I bought a few boxes, I had never heard of them. They were shorter so I was able to get 7 in the tube of my M4 which is nice. I was just reading they're made in Russia, are inconsistent and dirty. I shot over 100, they all went bang, patterened nicely and shot cleanly. A lot less expensive than other shells and 7 in a tube is a winner in my book. Anybody else ever tried these?
  9. I installed the rectangular gg&g release on mine. I like it a lot and seems to have a more positive release than the oem. The hardest part was aligning the spring with my fat fingers, finally I settled on holding it with hemostats and it went right in place.
  10. That is a sweet looking stock, I'd almost prefer that over the adjustable stock I have, it certainly looks sturdier.
  11. I like that ranger green, I'd get one but I already have an M60 sling on mine.
  12. I will take it if it isn't already spoken for. I pm'ed you.
  13. Yup, here is mine from bk02; looks great, fits well and won't rub.
  14. I put a Briley 13" handguard on my M4 so I could mount a light. I do like it but it takes the force of the mag cap to get it to seat fully.
  15. I guess there is slight variation in the stocks, mine went in perfectly as is.
  16. That lip that you have circled in red is all that goes into the stock. You really don't need to tap the screws in, the tolerance is so close that they will begin to screw into the stock. Insert them into the backing plate, place the plate on the opposite side of the stock and begin screwing them in till you feel them begin to protude. Position the qd so that one hole aligns up with a screw, tighten a couple turns then align the second hole with the other screw and tighten a couple turns. Alternate tightening each screw so that the qd is pulled evenly till tight.
  17. It rests on the lip of the part, the qd doesn't go all the way in by design. The screws with the backing plate pull it tight to the stock. It rides high but it is very secure.
  18. Or spongebob because that's what bob looks like after being on the wrong end. Hello kitty! is fine, just not barney, barney is not allowed.
  19. Now y'all have me worried. I'm gettin' ready to Cerakote my M4 "Noveske Bazooka Green" (kind of vintage od green). I also added a Briley 13" foregrip and a Carlson's breecher choke both of which will also be green. I'm leaving the adjustable stock and pistol grip black. Jeez, maybe no one will like it and I'll be ridiculed for totally jacking up an otherwise fine gun. Do I care? No, not really...
  20. FDE looks nice on an M4, I've seen one. I'd tell you the exact color and shade I'm going with but then mine wouldn't be unique...? Honestly it's going to look good no matter what you go with, make it your own!
  21. I call dibs on 1 BK, those are super sharp looking! I don't care about the finish color,I'll Cerakote it anyway. Not sure how I'd get you my contact info but I've bookmarked this thread and I will keep an eye on it till they're done. I love uber-custom work! Paypal ok? Let me know!
