xamoel
hey folks, i'm wondering what parts of the M4 fail first, if ever? buying a second M4 is too expensive for me right now, so i want to make sure i got all i could possibly need if any part of the M4 fails. what parts would that be? who's got 200k rounds through his nelli, and what did he replace ? xamoel
TacticalKoala
The only problem I had was with the original mag tube. A zombie bit it and left a dent in it, it would not reliably feed after that. Since I went to the CC Ti tube I haven't had any problems with zombie bites.

xamoel
hey TS, good point, that sounds quite familiar to me! i'm doing fine, right now i'm rather busy torturing people who need restorations at the dental clinic. but it's still fun, at least for me as i'm quite broke right now, i'm only planning to purchase a handgun, more specifically the HK45 tactical model. looking forward to shooting it for the first time already! how's your business doing? the german summer has finally started, today we had 98 fahrenheit! assuming in Texas it's even hotter, you must be making a fortune! any news from the things you ordered for me? xamoel
great! even the second pair of sights from tooltech? that would have been really quick!
Unobtanium
Buy extra springs, retaining pins, and O-rings. These are most likely to be lost or damaged by the user (Duggan...). Nothing on the M4 really breaks.
StrangerDanger
Main spring wore out on mine. Spare magazine spring. Rubber o-rings. A spare piston would be good. Mine is in the 12k range.

texas skeeter
HK pistols are over-rated and over-priced, IMO. A much better value and a far more reliable combat pistol is the XD. HK pistols don't have a stellar track record. Hey Suki, and you are drinking what today??? this thread pertains to a shotgun....
xamoel
@miketoo ??? please remind me where there are O-rings in the m4? just can't recall it right now... extra pistons might be an idea, but where do i get them? does benelli CS sell them to the end user? texas skeeter
extra pistons might be an idea, but where do i get them? Panabax should have them up for sale soon!!
12508
I have a fairly low round count (several hundred rounds) M4 that has one O-ring that is getting worn. Probably from getting nicked from the cylinder threads while removing the gas plugs.
xamoel
i'll definitely get a couple of those on my next order from brownells i think! maybe a rubber grip insert as well, as i assume the rubber gets worn over time easily.
Duggan
The only thing I've broken on my m4 is a rubber O ring on one of the gas piston retaining cap things, and I only broke that because I was overzealously pinching it trying to remove it for cleaning ... less to take from this is simply not to worry about having your m4 squeaky clean. StrangerDanger
Wait until you see what Brownells charges for that o-ring. That price is for one o-ring, not two. Take one of the o-rings off and go to a good hardware store. Match it up and get them for a dime each. Do not try to upgrade the o-rings to quadro seal type o-rings, it won't fit.
