vinc123
Hi, What is the best barrel lenght for trick shooting ? Thanks a lot !
FatMatt
If your talking about trick shots with sporting clays , It basically comes down to what you feel comfortable with. Your probably going to want an aftermarket extended skeet choke. which will extend the overall barrel length. I would suggest a 26" barrel unless you feel comfortable with a 28"+ barrel. vinc123
yes its for trick shots with clays ! but 24" is it too short ? Thanks !
FatMatt
yes its for trick shots with clays ! but 24" is it too short ? Thanks ! Usually with a 24" barrel your not going to get the traditional "Field" Sights. You are probably going to get a high rise fiber optic front sight and possibly a rifle mid/rear sight. a 24" barrel is know as a Turkey barrel. Its not going to be your best bet for trick shots with clays. Edited November 9, 2011 by FatMatt

vinc123
me too i can't find the barrel lenght ! but i hesitate to buy my M2. Between 24'' and 26'' Thanks !
FatMatt
I don't know if this matters or not. But Tom Knapp isn't sponsored by Benelli anymore. He is now sponsored by CZ-USA , And uses the CZ-712 with 26" barrel with mag extension. And the CZ-712 is a phenomenal shotgun and retails for around 450-500. vinc123
I think I'll buy the 26" but the 24" should be easier to handle. What do you guys think ? Do you think I would have more difficulty achieving clays with 24" or two inch does not change much? Thanks !!! FatMatt
I think the 26" is the way to go.
Bello
idk about trick shooting but i can shoot clays with my 18.5 inch m4
FatMatt
Yeah it really doesn't matter what barrel you decide to go with. You could shoot clays with a Taurus Judge if you wanted. I think trick shooting is irresponsible gun control. If you must preform tricks with your shotgun, I would ease into trying to shoot over your head or behind the back or something like that. Could blow your ass off.
vinc123
so do you think 24" would be better than 26" ?
FatMatt
so do you think 24" would be better than 26" ? I think you might have a little trouble finding a 12ga 24" barrel (Vent rib/Field Barrel) You might keep finding 20ga 24" barrel (Youth barrel) or rifle sights on a turkey barrel or even a Fully rifled barrel. all of those options are not going to work. But you can very easily find a 26" barrel in the configuration that your looking for.
vinc123
The M2 is available in 24". I think i will buy the 24" thanks !
socom1
I have the M1 and M2 with 24" barrels . No problems here . I shoot Skeet , Wooble Skeet , 5 Stand , and Sporting Clays . Never mind barrel lenghts , I've seen guys out there doing this stuff with 28 guage and even 410 . At least you'll have a 12 guage .
