Sniper Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 What are the pros and cons of running an M4 vs. an M2 in three gun? Quote
Vertigofirearms Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Pros for the M4 in this application is very limited...So I will jump to the Cons -Barrel Options: the M2 not only has vent-rib, rifle-sight, and ghost ring sights; but it also is available with a fully rifled barrel. Also in various lengths and camos. -Weight: plain M2 is lighter than the M4 (unless you go with that stupid X-rail thingy) -Comfortech: M2 has it, and it makes a difference along with the ergonomics. But personal taste will vary:p -Price Quote
StrangerDanger Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I'd go with the M2 for gun games. Lighter is faster. Quote
truckcop Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 One more M2 vote. For reasons noted above with weight being my first consideration, versatility next. Quote
Sniper Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Thanks all I have an M4 for years now it runs nice in combat shotgun class and drills but not fast enough for competition. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.. Quote
L84Cabo Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 You should get both so that you can try them out and then decide! What? I'm an enabler! What can I say. Quote
waveone Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) Don't forget about the M3 S90. It is convertible and w/an OEM mag extension you can easily stack 7+1. It is fairly light too. Edited December 4, 2013 by waveone Quote
stockplayer Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I personaly think benelli makes near perfect Shotguns. But like anything you need to pick the best tool for the job. If all you have is an M4 then run it for your 3gun matches. If you find the magazine capacity or sights are slowing you down then do what I did. Buy a 21" M2 and build a M2 3gun edition clone. You can do it for around $1600.00 My M4 is for training, and HD. My M2 is for sport. The M4 is a beast, with less felt recoil (gas system) but the M2 is better for the matches. Enjoy Quote
stockplayer Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I learned how to do weak handed loading on my M4. My speed doubled when I built my M2 3g clone with the c-rumed lifter and opened loading port. and as we all know shotgun reloads are the name of the game in 3gun Quote
