a little side shot…

the front bracket is now at the front of the gun, it is secured by the mag cap and a wave washer.  I tried to make it work with the mid gun mount but it had unworkable constraints.  If I didn’t care about tool less takedown this project would have been a breeze, but it was non negotiable.

Such a cool product. The time and effort you’re putting in to being innovative products to an older design isn’t lost on me. My M4 is an entry model so I won’t be able to try this but I LOVE how it will allow a “c-clamp” grip. So rad.

I just ordered a M4 charging handle last night from your site. Keep it up man, your eye for details is what impresses me.

Doesn’t quite allow a 100% c clamp with cowitness RMR mount, but if it’s a picatinny mounted optic it should be okay.

I naturally put my thumb on the 45* surface and I find it very comfortable, my thumb sort of locks into an empty mlok slot.

Got a question for yall.

With the newer update design on this, I had to move the bracket to attach at the front mag tube to address some issues of the last iteration.

currently I am planning to supply a wave washer for under the mag cap to keep mag cap tension, which does work just fine without issue.

Ive also been brain storming alternative methods for the past month with little headway to keep tension on the front mag cap.  Older Remington 1100s used to use wave washers for their cap, so it has been done in the past.  At this point there doesn’t appear to be another path to take but it hasn’t stopped me from thinking about it day and night for the past month.

I’m wondering for those that are wanting this heatshield, what are your thoughts on the wave washer?  At this point I think I need community feedback, I don’t think there is another method that will be better than the wave washer (the mounting bracket covers the detent), and it is the last piece of the puzzle stopping me from going into production.

A wave washer is probably the best option IMO. Any rough idea on cost or timeline till release? Really looks sharp!

Thanks for the input.  As for release date, looking like the fall at this point.  I think I can bring the cost down more but I’m not ready to say what final pricing will be.  I’m also able to get the RMR mount down in price as well, much less than others on the market.

I think a wave washer is fine. I don't think anyone who is concerned about tool-less take down is going to complain about one extra part, considering it still requires no tools to take down.

Kudos to RxArms for tool less approach. I will never install anything on my M4 that will require tools to disassemble the gun.

I can’t wait for this to be released. My current setup I love, but it makes maintenance a headache. I have the Midwest industries m lok cover. The rx arms one looks much better! I run an RMR and a light with pressure switch so that’s all I’d need it for.

An update for you all.  After a full year tweaking the initial design, and almost 2 years since starting this concept, I am finally happy with the end result!  I came up with a magazine cap that has 3 detents in it, which locks into the front heatshield bracket divots.  It has amazing retention, even when loose it has great retention ability (I tested it loose and it didn't move due to the spring force of the dents locked into the divots).

The new packaged product will include the 6061-T6 Heatshield, Titanium 6AL-4V mag cap with 3 spring detent plungers in it, and the steel bracket to interface with the mag cap.  I am happy to say, production is underway, and the fall 2024 is when these will be mailing out.  I'll be recording an installation video soon, it is very easy and straightforward.  Price is tentatively set around the $299 mark for all the components.  The RMR rail is looking like $78, and the Picatinny is $48.  These are all subject to change before I launch these on the site.

I won't rule it out, but it will be difficult for me to go that route as I really do not think the market for SBS is even a fraction of the standard 18".  From here, I will probably focus on the 1301 and A300UP variant, which I am already prototying.  any M4 SBS variant is probably a year or two away if I do it, being completely honest.

Inless your 1301 rail works with aridus or gg&g handguards. The market will be slim..They have market on 1301 parts .Just my opinion

ya they have a formidble presence.  But I am not so convinced about this, I think a lot of guys would leave OEM handguards on and put an MLOK heatshield on the gun if they had the choice.  Especially with the new Mod 2 handguard, and A300UP handguard that comes standard.  but its still in R&D phase right now so no rush on it.

Almost there...

Is the RMR mount absolute co-witness and compatible with the RMR HD over hang? and any ETA on the Acro mount?

Edit: Saw on the site it's 1/3rd co-witness. I might have to give it a shot if there isn't any issue with the RMR HD. Acro P2 showing 2025.

No issues with RMR HD overhang.

Can you tell us more about the manufacturing process?  Do you use SolidWorks for the STL files and send it somewhere for manufacturing?  Maybe provide diagrams of the part and installation instructions?

I'm still unsure if I want to buy this because I have no idea if it will bolt on right and don't want to mess around with returning it.  I mailed you a while back about availability.
