In fact, there are twice as many deer in the shotgun region as there are in the rifle region -- which, ironically, is more than twice as large (includes the upper peninsula and the upper half of the lower peninsula). BenelliBoy Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I use a shotgun for whitetail.Here in Ohio during gun season thats all u can use is shotguns, well and revolvers .357 and bigger or Muzzleloaders with atleast a .38 Caliber. Used to use my 20 Gauge with foster slugs. Tomorrow is opening day for gun season and im using my Dads 12 Gauge 870 Wingmaster with Fully rifled barrel.
