I'd consider an aluminum one over titanium for weight savings. I'd also look into making have an embedded hardened steel ring around the base so the detent didn't chew it up the ratcheting teeth. The parts could be threaded together and bound together permanently.

Breaking in the new M4, shooting slugs at 15 yards to check red dot and it's all over the place. Laying prone with a bag under the barrel. I shoot a lot of handguns/rifles so I'm fairly certain it's not me. If it was all low/left I could see the argument but it's spraying all around and I was in a very stable platform. I'm shooting this cheap Sterling ammo, I really hope it's just the ammo. This is the result of 10 rounds of Hydrashok (LE127RS) fired unsupported from the standing at a normal pace without trying too hard. The target is 12" wide. The firearm was a 14" CYL bore M4 Entry model with FFT rail, ADM Ti mount, and Aimpoint 4moa H2. The distance is 65y.

just got off the phone with benelli, they don't recommend it. Going to sell the rest. Pretty sure I didn't screw up my barrel with just 20 rounds (hopefully). Didn't buy it for slugs anyways.

The M1014 has always been a fixed MOD diameter choked barrel. Regular Foster or Brenneke style slugs are fine. I am not familiar personally with these "Tornado" slugs and won't speak to it, but have read very lackluster accuracy reports about them on various forums.

Yea, if you stretched the range out to 50 yards you'd have some misses but at 15 yards any one of those is "graveyard dead".

you just missed out. about six weeks ago a member here was selling the complete stock AND the three position stock tube. i think it got as low as $625 and he couldnt sell it here. it was a great deal. he moved it to ebay for sell and made considerably more profit

M1014 comes with fixed Modified choke. Per Benelli's official statement, it shouldn't be used for slugs..... even though many people do shoot slugs with it.

Did you change the OEM Modified choke to Improved Cylinder or Cylinder choke? Benelli says Modified choke shouldn't be used for slugs, even though many people think it's ok. Perhaps the specific slugs used are super sensitive to the choke.

These stocks have always been tough to buy, the pandemic made it worse. I think the highest we ever saw one being sold was like 1200$ on Gunbroker. It is just how things are now. You can see the going market price of a Knight's Armament Company Aimpoint battery cap is like 200$; a little metal cap with their logo that is suppose to cost 35$. SPAS-12s are in the 3000$ and up. HK stuff is ridiculously expensive. Tons of stuff appreciated in value or selling for way above MSRP.

I agree that there are quite a lot of 1301t in classes. It was less punishing than the m4. I have more appreciation for field stocks as reloading with a pistol grip is slower (for me). I’m going to try my next class with a field stock m4 for comparison. Imho both are excellent shotguns with a reliability edge to the m4.
