  1. Good question. The 3/32" allen screws hold the internal brackets in place within the handguard. These brackets are what allows the handguard to install directly to the shotgun a single piece. The handguard slides over the magazine tube and into the factory forend retainer, then the barrel is placed installed as per normal. The handguard is retained between in the same two locations as the factory split forend. There's no need to remove any screws on this handguard for install or for maintenance. Certainly a much easier handguard to work with. Hope this helps!

  2. Before potentially buying an M4 from Cabela’s, I would strongly encourage you to comeback here to the Benelli forum and share/validate whatever the staff at Cabela’s tells you regarding the M4 models, either on line or in store. I live in Virginia as well and the Cablela’s employees that work the firearms area I have witnessed numerous times misinform customers about M4’s and other firearms altogether. Since Covid and the ongoing hiring shortage/difficulty of finding employees across many industries, the problem has worsened. The Cablela’s where I live remains a joke amongst local informed shooters..I go there to browse ammo, etc. Last week I listened to a young employee at the Cabela’s firearm display tell a customer to stay away from /not recommend Benelli M2’s because..”Benelli really designs them to be used in competition as race shotguns, not for hunting or home defense”. Of course, the customer was inquiring how long it would take to order an M2 and the young employee was trying to sell the customer on something that was in stock.

  3. Oof... Another good question, but one that I'm not sure of. But I do know that there is a plethora of possible pics on the web that may have answer your question on the 13" handguard. You'll have to look at the pics closely to see if it would work on your Entry M4. Not sure if Briley themselves would know if you were to contact them, as they are more 3-Gun minded. Sorry about that...

  4. Thank you for the help everyone. I figured it out. It was that tab and slot that were hanging up. I carefully filed each side of the tab two or three times, probably taking off a couple thou at most, cleaned it up, and put a very small amount of oil on it: just a light glaze, being sure to wipe off the inside surface. When I tried to put the barrel back on, it was still tight but didn't feel quite like such a hard metal-to-metal stop as before. A few taps on the end of the barrel with a rubber mallet and everything eventually slid right into place! Action works great by hand, and everything seems great. Now to take it to the range and break it in! Thanks, again, everyone. Great community, here.

  5. I've have many MI products and love them all. I'm sure this will be just as nice. Might have to give it a try.
