  1. I've got one, and I like it. Problem is that the Jellyhead .660 just shoots a tad better with XR #6's, so I use the Jelly for the most part. I'll keep the Rhino though, it shoots XR #5's well and sometimes I shoot back-up with those #5's. It's super out to 30-35 yards with XR #6's. Falls apart much past 38 yards. I'm sure there is a pefect shell for the Rhino, I just have not found it yet. Kilt quite a few birds with it though:
  2. Tejas is good. So is Oregon. Missery ain't bad at $150 for two birds. I also like Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and of course here in Cali. I might even try Idaho again next year.
  3. I don't get good patterns from that Nitro shell and my Jellyhead or Rhino .660 in my SBE II. The Nitro shell always shoots low. About the only shell that I like in the Jelly or Rhino is the Win XR #6's.
  4. I don't shoot lead at turkeys anymore, it's toxic I have been shooting Win XR's for years. Before that, Win HV's.
  5. 3" Winchester Xtended Range #6's would be my first choice.

    M 1 vs M 2

Some of you guys are on crack My M2 20 chokes say Criochoke all over the tubes. Love the new trigger guard just like I love the new trigger guard on the SBE II. Made for hunters for sure. True that it's impossible to unload with the stop lever, but I go to the plug so often, I hadn't noticed. The M2 has the Comfortech system. Good for me because I hate the recoil of a 20. The M2 has all the new corrosion resistant recoil tube parts, I love my M2 20 gauge. Can't be seen in public with an 'old' M1!
  7. Yes, sort of. H&K imported Benelli for many years. Heckler and Koch lost the Benelli importation contract long before the M2 even existed. I think the last H&K Benellis were sold in 1999? Maybe 1998 or 2000. I think the M2 came out in 2005. I think your friend has an M1.
  8. How old is your Cordoba? I recall that since 2006, the Cordoba accepts the Crio Plus choke tube. The threads will be down the choke tube and the barrel about an inch (maybe less) and will look like this: http://www.briley.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=19 It sounds like your threads are at the end of the barrel, which sounds like you have a pre-2006 Cordoba. I think this is what the older Corboda uses: http://www.briley.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=18 Call Briley and tell them exactly what thread pattern you have. They make thousands of choke tubes and I'd be willing to bet they have a Super Full for your Cordoba or they can make one. You can also try Benelli CS.
  9. Try Briley. They have the Sporting Crio chokes down to Super Full, which is .040 of constriction. That might work with HS. Probably too open for lead turkey loads though. I think they will special order turkey chokes - a buddy has a few for his Sport II.
  10. I like them birds just a bit:
  11. I don't hunt public much, too much public on public land. The worst problems for me, by far, have been encountered in Iowa. The morel mushroom is king in Iowa, and no one seems to care if mushroom hunters come onto their land to search for them. I paid $600 one year for a three day hunt only to have hunts broken up 5-6 times by mushroom hunters. On private land I paid to hunt on

    Foregrip play

There are a series of washers in the forearm. Two spacer rings, one spring ring in the middle, and one retaining ring to hold them all in place, I think. The barrel ring actually makes contact with these rings to hold the forearm in place to some degree. I think he is suggesting that you look at these rings to see if anything is missing or maybe incorrectly installed. I'd compare the forearm that does not rattle to the one that does to see if they are the same. You can always try Benelli CS

    Foregrip play

    Huh
  14. Ok, at least now I understand what you were thinking But, I couldn't disagree with you more as it applies to me and most of the turkey hunters I spend time with. The only reason I even mention 40 yards is that inside 40 yards, every gun I own is fine. I can put 150-190 pellets inside the 10" at 35 yards with every gun I own. The sad fact is the most guns fall apart at 38-40 yards. That's why 40 yards is magical to me. Does anyone want to see my 10 yard patterns? 15? How 'bout 20? Anyone wanna see a 20 yard pattern with a 3 oz 10 gauge 4x5x7 Nitro though a .680 choke? I might just post one up for fun next week sometime. Nope. I think the vast majority of guys that actually hunt turkeys are smart enough to see past the text on a choke tube package. Trade shows can do strange things to folks
  15. While any year I can get out and hunt is a good year, last year was a pretty good year. A few from last season:
  16. To the best of my knowledge, the standard hunting camo/black 12 gauge Nova has always been 3.5". The first two I bought in 1999, were 3.5". So at least 9 years or so.
  17. In my seven or so years here, about 99% of the guys that start their story with the $1500 statement are trolls that post a few times and never return. Take a look at how many do this with their first post. Call it profiling if you want, but there is no constitutional protection from profiling here at good old Benelli USA I look forward to when he posts what Benelli does for him. That should solve the mystery.
  18. I'm sure they won't tell you, but if they do fix the problem, I'd love to know what they did. Did you record the serial # on the barrel? The only thing I can think of is that they will simply give you a new barrel. I feel sorry for the guy that get's your barrel next though, but maybe he won't be a turkey hunter. The most likely issue is a bad choke tube thread cutting which leaves the choke off-center. That's why I mentioned shooting at a large piece of paper. You will find the center that way. Keep us informed, if you stick around
  19. Is this the same shop that told you there was nothing they could do? What changed their mind? Maybe you got a manager. You had all the answers already and gladly offered that we were all wrong, so I was just trying to think of anything your big honest brain hadn't mentioned already. Excuuuuussssseeeee mmmmmeeeeeee for trying I hope you end up happy, but I still don't buy any of your story
  20. And they're spectacular
  21. I'd only shoot lead #6's out to 35 yards. High density #6's maybe to 40-45 yards. Lead #5's can be pretty good at 40 yards and HD 5's can be effective out to 50 yards. Win XR #6's are pretty hard to beat at any range out to 40 or so.
  22. March 29th here in Cali. My last hunt will be somewhere in the midwest or Oregon around mid-May.
  23. You can shoot Win XR's though a Kick's GT. .655 will like smaller pellets, so #6's might be a good option. All of my guns pattern better with 3.5" over 3". The 3.5" haters just love to bash the 3.5" every chance they get. I get 53 more pellets with the 3.5" XR #6's, so I'll shoot them as long as I can. I've killed numerous birds with just a few pellets, what if those pellets were in the 53? There are many great lead loads too. I'd try the Win HV #6's in 3.5".
  24. Have you checked the nut behind the gun? Let me first say that I don't believe you. The fact that you threw in the $1500 comment makes me think you are a troll. The results you are talking about, with the chokes and shells you mention, at the range you mention, are unheard of. My SBE II will put 130-170+ XR #6's in the 10" circle at 35 yards all day long with the .660 Jellyhead and the .660 1.5" Rhino .660. I don't even love this pattern. It drops down to 90-140 or so at 40 yards. I think your Point of Impact does not match your Point of Aim. Of course, to use just the head and neck test for patterns is stupid. You need to test the patterns at certain distances and then count the total in a 10" or 20" circle. Look at these targets for example. Head and neck is 40-70, but look at the total blend in the 10" circle. These are dead birds, even at 40 yards: If you are at wit's end, you can always try testing with a large sheet of paper. Put a small dot in the middle and aim at that dot. Maybe your POI is off? You will not really know unless you try this test. Good luck, I think you will need it
