Ok, but can you get an O/U slug barrel for that gun? Does in come in camo? Does the safety make too much noise? mudhen - CA

Got one tonight - $32 at my shop. Went in fine. Put base in, tighten screws, it snugs right up. Don't know how many times the plastic base will like being taken in and out, but I will prolly just use it for turks and use the Gel-Pad for ducks. We'll see how it works. I've shot maybe 200 turkey rounds through this SBE II, so I'll know pretty quick if it has any effect. mudhen - CA

Yep, just started to test my .660 JH in the SBE II. Very similar patterns. Maybe a slight edge to the Rhino, maybe... mudhen - CA

Pretty sure they are made by the same guy. Call Jeff at Surecycle for details. mudhen - CA

I hear some early SBE II's were not drilled & tapped. I've never seen an undrilled & untapped SBE II since the first SBE II I saw in 2004. Anyone got an early SBE II that is not drilled & tapped? Just curious... I bought a BPS one year, and the ads said the stock was synthetic. Turned out to be painted wood from the previous year's batch And it broke Sent it back to Browning asking for a synthetic replacement...got another crappy painted wood stock mudhen - CA

Sounds like the same nice lady that sent me parts last week. I've seen smaller chunks fall off the Sport II gel pad, but nothing as large as that chunk! Hope the pad arrive soon... mudhen - CA

Thanks, been using some HeviShot for many years now so I am aware of it's lethality, been shooting steel going on 25 years. Hate it, but it works ok. I get out 50+ days most season, no dog (by choice), and I can really go through the shells some seasons. 8-10 cases in a good season. HeviShot at the 2006 price of $3 per shell could add almost $4000 to my single season shell bill. Ain't gonna happen friend... mudhen - CA

Are you truly this dense End beads and mid-beads have always been intended as general wing shooting references only. Serious slug hunters have always added some sort of adjustable sight to gain slug accuracy or bought slug barrels with iron sights. I've never had one bead be perfectly centered on any brand of shotgun going back to guns made in the 1920's & 30's. How slug-accurate can any of these brands really be when the end beads are Ray-Bars or the overly large white sight Browning has been using for years Me thinks you have no clue... But you are certainly entitled to howl at the moon all you want, knock yourself out mudhen - CA

Here's what ol' joe117 says about some of us; http://www.refugeforums.com/refuge/showthread.php?t=430509&page=2 How did I ever kill anything with that big ol' Raybar orange blob on my Ithaca 37's How 'bout that marsh-malo thing that comes on most Brownings It is a frickin' mirackle I ever kilt anything before joe117 rode in to save the day! mudhen - CA

Close enough for it's intended purpose for me. Geesh, this ain't the Refuge Forums, we don't beat things to death here (did I just type that?)... mudhen - CA

The Briley Crio Sport should fit the Sport II, Supersport, and Cordoba. Benelli calls these the Extended CrioChokes. Crio Plus is a name some choke makers are giving to the Benelli CrioChoke found on the SBE II and M2 series. The Plus comes from the Beretta Optima Plus system which will fit the SBE II and M2, but the choke names will not be the same as the OP is an overbored system and the Benelli is not. Clear as mud, right? Clear as mudhen I say... mudhen - CA

I don't know what you guys are talking about I'm just a loyal Benelli customer mudhen - CA

Needed two small parts for my SBE II. Lost the little c-ring that holds the swivel post in place. It still worked, but it was annoying to have the post fall out every time I took the mag cap off. Also had the grip cap fall out somewhere in the rice fields. I called Benellis CS and told them I just needed the parts as they are easy enough to put back in myself. A few days later I got a brand new complete mag cap and a new grip cap. This is typical of the service I have received from Benelli since 1991. It also illustrates the main reason I own Benellis. I can live with little incidental issues when the overall mechanical reliability is so outstanding mudhen - CA

But I'm sure you two don't give a rats *** about wasting the meat, the only thing you're interested in is getting back out there and seeing how much you can kill. Do you have ESPN or something? Dang, you've got me figgered out (no joke at all). I will not be impressed until you start eating the intestines and making pillows! Do you eat duck butts too? And, btw, the spoony & teal story is about 100 years old. Next time try a more original duck tail. Pure rural legend - shovelers taste like crap - that is a fact Even the Indians in Elko, NV thought shovelers tasted like crap...prolly called it "duck that tastes like wiping hand"... mudhen - CA

You will need to dial 011 first for Italy - +6 hours time difference from Eastern Time. +9 hours for out west here. How can than be? If it's 5:50 p.m. here, why is it not 5:50 pm in Italy? Can someone please explain this to me? Not trying to be a dolt, I'm just naturally curious. My mother says it's my best feature... mudhen - CA

You should look up analogy in the dictionary... Do you eat the innards? Some folks eat the intestines, do you? Do you save the feathers and make pillows? How about duck bill soup? Most internet surveys show about 70% breast out most of their ducks. I pluck some birds, breast out mostly... mudhen - CA

I've read it's .680, dunno for sure. Pattern your gun with the full to see if you want a turkey choke. I shoot a Rhino .660 in my SBE II, good to about 40 yards max. mudhen - CA

I rarely shoot 3.5" at ducks, maybe in the wind so I can go up to a larger steel shot. Geese and 3.5" BBB's go together nicely It's simple math people. There are 400 pellets in a 3" Winchester XR #6 and 460 pellets in a 3.5" XR #6. When I'm traveling and spending hard earned time and cash, I'm going to shoot the best combination I can. The 3.5" outpatterns the 3" in my guns, plain and simple. I've shot toms and found 2-3 pellets in the neck. Maybe those 2-3 pellets came from the extra 60? Maybe not. I'm not willing to take that risk on some trips. I notice little difference in recoil from 3" to 3.5", so I'll stick with the 60 extra pellets when I want to, thanks... mudhen - CA

My SBE II hated the fast TM 1.25 oz loads, liked the heavier slower TM loads. I'll shoot steel & HeviSteel in 2006 for the most part... mudhen - CA

Have not seen one of those in a long time. I'll ask around at my dealer. Maybe call Benelli CS and ask them? mudhen - CA

There is no official statement yet. There rarely is until after the move has been made. It is just industry news right now. The story as I hear it relates to the cost of tungsten for 2006 shot production. In short, with all the new non-toxs having MSRP at around $3 per shell, and Kent TM not selling too well at $1.50 per shell, Kent is unsure if they should proceed if TM is also $3.00 per shell. The Kent rep will be in the area next week or the week after taking orders for fall 2006. My dealer will know then what they will be shipping this summer. No matter what, the heavy non-toxs from Remington and Winchester will be run $25-$35 for 2006. Only Environ Metal may be able to keep it closer to $20 per ten pack. My dealer says he will charge $19.99 - $21.99 for Hevi Shot in the fall of 2006. mudhen - CA
