Following this thread is a great example of why for the most I do not get into these debates, we can not even agree on what ghost loading really is.

This is a good reciepe to damage your Carrier Latch.

The barrel on your M2, Montefeltro, and ultra light are all very similar to the SBE 3" verson. If you remove the "Top Cover" you will see the similarieties. thus barrel production would be very similar in most noted models. Using the Top Cover on the SBE 3, 3" would support line intigration.
-
Barrel production would then be very similar to most other models, saves weight, to name a few.
-
3" SBE 3's are a two piece design, the 3.5" SBE 3's are a one piece design.

How I would approach this would be to spray penetrating oil on the Recoil spring screw/nut. Then locktite the Recoil spring screw/nut back on the recoil spring tube. Let that sit overnight. With a impact wrench and a 14MM deep socket you shouldf be able to remove the recoil spring tube nut. You could then remove the recoil spring tube screw with some heat just as you would when replace a recoil spring.

All of the 828U Limited Edition guns that I have seen all have the red heel cap. Would like to see a photo of the Silver Oval, perhaps I can determine where thiat came from.

Hello, Bob, I will look closer at one of these Thursday and get back to you.

You mentioned yopu sent it Benelli twice? What notes were sent back with the gun, did they send you a pattern? Did you place a laser inside the barrel to see where the Lazer Light is tracking?

Over the past several years I have found many more Benelli with bolt heads that are full of debries - causing light strikes. This is one of many causes of the issue. Here is a series of photo's that documents the issue fairly well and how to eliminate this as a cause of light strikes. This could lead to better insights when deep cleaning your Benelli at the end of the year as well.

This is a good reminder of choosing a dealer that is customer centric. This type of dealer would replace the gun and return the existing gun to Benelli for a warranty repair.

Here is a general guide for shotgun fitting: If your eye is to high on the gun you are going to shoot high. Correct language should include, "I am shooting my Benelli high and do not understand why". Incorrect language may sound something like "My Benelli shoots high" . Benelli has a very robust quadra fit system, the adjustabilty to fit most shooters is a key point of differentiation that sets the brand apart. If you eyeline drifts to far to the right, you will "correct" this subconciously by moving the barrel to the left, thus POI left. I have fit many right handed Benelli's casted left handed to correct said cause and effect. Having worked on and completed fittings on more than 2000 Benelli's I have yet to see one, when properly fitted that shoots outside of the Benelli Spec. Acknowledging there were 2017 models with barrel stop ring fitting issues. Most Ethos Field and 828U require adjustments in the quadra fit system. The 20 Gauge SBE series fits most shooters right out of the box.

Also discussed was your shells: Remove your barrel from the reciever, choke tube down, insure every shells falls into the chamber without obstruction. If shells do not fall into the chamber you are restricting enegy to ensure bolt lockup.

For clarity: is your SBE 2 releasing more than 1 shell from the magazine? If it is, the carrier latch is out of adjustment or bent. Do you have a extended magazine tube on the gun? If so the carrier latch is more than likely bent. The face of the carrier latch looks to be in very good shape, I can not determin the radius profile by the photo. If this went to Benelli they would more than like "adjust" the carrier latch, if it releasing more than 1 shells. "Adjust" meaning bending it back to the orginal radius profile. You are correct the carrier latch is very hard to get, Briley may have the latch if you purchase it in the "Kit" for, with a paddle. Is your extractor worn? Isd you Ejector siezed? Sight unseen if I had the gun I would concentrate on: Extractor Carrier Latch Ejector operation Correct Recoil Spring Shouldering Please let me know if I can help.
-
Who did you get the "OEM" recoil spring from? I have had best performance in these series SBE's recoil spring from Midwest Gun Works. There were fitting issues with these about a year ago, they would not slide over the recoil spring tube plunger properly. Recoil spring are often found very inconsistant in tolerance. Mark

The plug is rattling in the magazine tube. A very fine layer of electrical tape where the plug is making contact with the magazine tube will work.
-
Please reach out, if you may need assistance installing the Extractor or the Carrier Latch. The Extractor Part Number is 60177 The Carrier latch is out of stock, your existing carrier latch could be "Adjusted" meaning bent/reshaped to OEM standard if there is not excessive wear to the middle of the latch where every shells rides accross, when loading.
-
If multiple shells are releasing from your magazine tube, the carrier latch is bent. I replace about 10 of these per year, primary cause extended magazine tubes.
-
Are you shooting BB's? Did you replace the extractor? What recoil spring diud you use to replace the OEM. Shouldering the gun? Did you add weight to the gun? Did you ad a aftermarket recoil pad? Please PM me if you wish. I have worked on more than 1400 Benelli's, every one was 100 reliable.

Yes, the 20 gauge & 28 gauge are two piece recievers.

Stocks/Forends from current models will not fit M1 Super 90's. The choke tubes are Benelli Mobil Choke system.
