Benelli offers different sized recoil pads for the NOVA 20ga. Check the website and find a dealer who knows what hes talking about and you'll be able to get a longer pad. hope it helps!

DO USE action cleaner. Its great way to remove everything (dirt, oil, spent powder,....) from inside the reciever. good luck

good choice. myself and other family members have been hunting coyotes for years with .223 i shoot a remington 700 BDL VS (pre 1996) that my father bought new for my when I was 15. its a great gun. the price of coyote fur has been on a steady decrease but we used to make enough money to pay for all fuel and reloding supplies used through the winters hunting and even the occasional new rifle. excessive tearing is not as common in coyote fur as it is fox so they can take a lot more energy (in some cases even remain on their feet and keep running) a .22-250 is a great gun for coyote hunting but a .223 will do everything you require. its a blast! good luck

I would not recomend Win Experts. Tear one open and look at the shot and it will give you nightmares for a week! In the five shells I tested there was not a single even remotely round pellet and the ones were closest to being round were all hollow. They looked a lot like welding slag. Plus there is no water resistance what so ever and the pellets have that real dark grey color steel gets and it wipes off on every thing. They also have that bad metal smell like metal factory has. I have examined many steel shot loads and these are by far they worst. Their only advantage is the price. My advice, DONT SKIMP ON THE SHELLS! We spend so much money (M2=$1300) on every thing else yet we skimp on the most important. Use only premium steel (Fed. Ultra Shock or Win Supream) or a good non-tox load. The guys layed some good advice for choke tubes. Patternmasterns hold great long range patterns for geese but are a little tight for ducks of decoys and the Terror really seems to be getting popular. I tried a Rhino/Haydel DPX tube and was not impressed and I have had the best patterns with Brileys extended modles. For Ducks and with steel use IC, LM, and M depeding on what range they want to work. Geese and steel Ill use a M or IM depending on range. Geese and Hevi-shot I use LM. by extended i mean tubes that extend beyond the muzzle of the barrel. when it comes to aftermarket tubes, i am a big fan of briley's extended tubes. only the new benellis (SBEII, M2, ect) have the new crio systems and yes they have been lengthened inside the muzzle so it is a similar consept. there are also exteneded tubes for the crio systems which, in theory, would produce even better patterns with steel but yet to see any tests. hope it helps

Modified (M) But I have found that Extended tubes provide fuller paterns (LM), (M) and (IM).

Dont use use rem oil on your benellis. Dry-based lubricants can gum and slow the actions. I know this from experience. Hopes WeatherGuard Oil (in the BLACK bottle) works great in cold temps and the Hopes 9 (in the ORANGE bottle) works good in all conditions. Do you use an action cleaner or brake cleaner when you degrease the action? If you dont then use it and brush (or q-tip) to scrub the rails that the bolt rides in. Also, when degreasing the action make sure to degrease and lighty oil the inside of the magazine and its spring. Make sure your magazine spring is still true to its normal length as well. Slow shells out of the magazine can cause cycling problems as well. You may want to replace your plastic follower and iron spring with a SMR stainless spring and aluminum follower (about $25). does anybody here shoot bismuth??? i have had rough start to my season and the ducks dont seem to work as close as last year. i reload bismuth #2 for geese and i'm considering a load of #4 for ducks.

its very important not to over cook waterfowl!!!!! duck is best medium rare. grilling is great or bake in the oven with basil and orange slices.

yeah, someone is really pulling your leg. i have eaten hundreds of teal. greenwings are much better than bluewings but they both make great tablefare.

the prefit SIMS limbsaver pad makes a world of difference on the SBE. it really takes bite out of felt recoil. i can shoot all day now and have not even a bruse to show. i highly recomend it! i'm trying a ported choke tube (Haydel's/Rhino DPX) to try and tame the muzle jump a little bit. i'll let ya know how it works.

Cylinder and Improved cylinder have worked best with slugs.

very hard! it'll leave one heck of a bruse when your shooting clays or paper in the summer, but i have never noticed the recoil while in the blind or the field. if that comfort tech pad fits right lets know!

bobcat, do you need a 3 1/2in auto? my SBE functions flawlessly with 1oz loads. just this summer i have fired 3 and 1/2 cases of winchester, federal, and estate 1oz loads and not a hitch. if you dont need a 3 1/2in auto then dont get one. there are many great 3in guns. i really enjoy my SBE!

kent fasteel is some good stuff, especially for its price. i have been using it for years. the #4 shot over decoys is great for puddlers. one word of caution, fasteel has no waterseals so pay attention not to drop them in the water. the pellets are not plated and rust quickly. otherwise it is a great load for use over decoys. if it is a problem any shotgunshell can be sealed with wax and nail polish. good luck

i have heard a lot things about the PM holding a tight pattern. what are you hunting? i have had great results with Briley X2's in my SBE and Nova. try a briley and save your self about $70 a tube. good luck and let us know of any test results.
