Man!!!! this just ain't right.....I make one comment about ranges and get a three page reply (it was in fun okay)....but, tucker don't get nothing for his. I'm telling...............maybe it's because I only got about 50 posts.......does that mean I'm still a newbie???
-
I saw on here somewhere.......leave the bolt in the forward/closed position when removing the barrel/receiver top.....this way you will be able to tilt the receiver ejection cutout up and over the bolt handle without marring your finish......THEN take the bolt handle out as tucker mentioned...while out of the receiver.

Tucker.....they broke the mold on this one, no more available. As for tuna....the weather has prevented just about everyone from getting out. There has been some wahoo, a king or two, and bottom fish caught that I'm aware of. The redfish are thick in the shallows during the afternoon heatup and on the beach in the surf on nice days...did I say 'thick'?? I will be at Cape Lookout on Saturday for reds and specks..........

Yesss, now you're talking. My SBEII was a gift from my other half (notice I did not say 'better', hehe)....but when I mentioned "man, I'd like to have that flyway edition"....she replied, "well, you shoulda said they had one, you coulda had it"...well, I am just now recovering from the bruising I gave myself while kicking myself in the...well you know the rest of the story...

No offense tucker....but that is what, while growing up, we called "catchit brown". Don't like

Glad to hear it finally worked out even though logistically it presented a nightmare. CDay is a SHE by the way. Also, my spring was still a little tighter than I would like, but broken in considerably over time. Good Luck!

I agree, but I do have the wood and matte version of the SBEII....believe me, when someone sees it they do take a second look normally followed with a "what kind gun is that".....so I believe that even though a nice blued shiney finish would get attention and look great, it still gets it's fair share of admiration as it is.

I emailed CDay before sending mine in....got a response within hours with instructions on where to send it and to Att: CDay..... I mailed it on Monday, got it back on Friday with freebies. Nothing but superb in my opinion.

That made me nervous also......rust. So, I applied one on one side....looked at it....got nervous, took it off. I used one elsewhere and still have two barrel stickers. The window stickers are really nice, have one on my truck window and one on my boat windshield.
-
Go to Benelli Gear on the main page......down at the bottom is the barrel stickers and window stickers. Barrel stickers are clear with the lettering on them......window stickers are the die cut vynil (sp). Very good quality.....I have both. Only a buck or two.

And it's a long one!!!! But, what took so long.......... Forgot that in this world of 'up tights' we have to confirm when a joke is about to be written.....enjoy the day, oh, and your trip! To test my joking skills (disclaimer: this is written in jest) Don't you all wear those fancy padded vest anyway??? Sorry, had to say it.

HAHAHAHA TUCKER you kill me!!

I should be a CorrosionX dealer!!!! Do not overlook this RejeX wax.....it is by far the best wax I have ever used...actually repels dust, etc. Water continues to bead after 3-6 months....and it shines on your vehicle.

I can think of about three hundred things that WE don't need, but we get anyway, why skimp now???.... I understand your "not needing 3.5" mindset. That's what I thought....I bought a 3.5" gun, then three years later I bought a box of 3.5" shells to finally try em out....been shooting em ever since!! Now have another 3.5" gun. You won't be disappointed and your money will be well spent....I would suspect that someday you will wish you did. [ 02-24-2005, 12:11 PM: Message edited by: EFLOYD ]

Just my two cents: I use CorrosionX (been planning to try others at recommendations, but haven't so you guys bear with me)....but, I clean my SBEII inside and out with cloth wrags the best I can get it to a 'dry' condition. Doesn't take long. I then apply Corrosion X to all internal and external parts, wiping with a lightly 'oiled' wrag so as to put just a sheen on there (where the dry metal changes in appearance). So, I guess I would call this a 'dry application'....almost none, but a little. Never had a problem with rust or misfires/hangs. Now for the wood (I have 'non-comfortech' walnut and matte black).....again, CorrosionX!! However, not the oil, but the "RejeX" wax....man I love this stuff on my gun stocks, boat, truck, plexiglass, anything!! It leaves my wood super well protected from water while still giving that 'squeaky' grip in your hand.... [ 02-24-2005, 12:04 PM: Message edited by: EFLOYD ]

I have the 2004 SBEII without comfortech. I am in to the classical look a wood and black firearm, not the plastic, synthetic stuff. I do not own a non-wood firearm and don't plan to presently....but may. Recoil is recoil no matter how you slice it. If you don't want the kick, go with a 20gauge or get off 3.5 ammo. I was hunting with my dad and granddad when I was 8 with a 12gauge single...nothing in 12gauge kicks too hard for me at this point...it's part of the game. Though I don't shoot 400 rnds a day at the wanna-be-hunter range....I do regularly drop a couple boxes a day in the field....I hunt with my firearms, not sport them at the range.

"I guess people who can't afford anything but a Mossberg sometimes harbor ill feelings against people who can afford the best there is." You da man Tucker......that is the truth!!! I get bashed all the time because I have a "thin barrelled, overpriced, etc. etc. Benelli SBEII"... But, you know what, it's normally the guy toting a cheap gun that does it.....saying, "I don't need a $1k gun to shoot ducks"...... but, you're right on the money!!! Pure jealously, cut and dry....but before it's over....this is what I get..."Can I hold that thing let me see how it feels??.....Man, that IS nice."
-
I've shot em all in my SBEII 'non-comfortech' walnut version.....without a hitch. The cheapest shells made up through 3.5s.....flawless. The first 50 shells I put through it were 7/8oz Wally World loads....

No girls made like mine anymore......sorry. But, as for Benelli's commitment to their customers....can't speak about the dealers.....I have had trememdous support from Benelli. I have gotten service with a three day turnaround, after I called ahead to verify the issue and received instructions on where to mail, who to att. to, etc.....then I have even gotten freebies with no charge, even after I ordered items they came to me with "no charge". I relate this to my own efforts at being reasonable and nice...to which Benelli responded in a like manner. I would assume they value their good customers who support their efforts and in return they support those supporters.....and vice versa....something I can't necessarily blame them for. I have had great service and experiences with them so far.

My girlfriend ordered my SBEII.....the dealer called said it's in.....my girlfriend (who bought it) went and picked it up.....surprised me with it......even further to my surprise was that the box was never even opened.....I was the first to even open the box....she never even checked it out. Moral of story: You should check it.....but request that the dealer does not open the product until you are there.....if they'll do that. BTW...mine was perfect.

I would like to thank whoever manages the online order program. I ordered a couple small items via the net with CC information. I just received that order within a couple days with......'NO CHARGE'....written on the invoice... With the service of my trigger group and it's one week turnaround time...and now this...I can only say that I am more and more impressed each time. Thanks!!! Eric Floyd Morehead City, NC

If you hold your gun at arms length away and look down the barrel with your eye slightly higher than the rib....you should be able to see if the stock centerline is in line with the rib, or the left or right....for a right handed shooter the stock centerline should be a little right of the rib centerline.....or check your shims.
-
My friend has one and loves it... I have personally seen him stretched out in the mud shooting ducks with both him and the gun muddy and wet...kept firing. I plan to buy my daughter a 20ga short stock version this year. Possibly one for myself.

Echo what Tucker said. Most will not post a flawless experience....but, will almost always post a problem seeking advice. I have the wood and matte version. I have fired 7/8 oz. Wally World loads for dove up to 3.5 BBs for waterfowl. I have not experienced a misfire, hang, jam or anything yet. I have put around 300 7/8 oz loads through it and a couple hundred steel loads through it without a gliche. It handles extremely well and my shooting has improved over my Mossberg and Ithaca. I lowered the drop with one of the spare shims and it did wonders for my accuracy. I have fired it as fast as possible just to see what happens using all loads. I have used it in the rain, etc. You will love it, no doubt.

Can't tell you how to get it off....some of these guys and gals are good at it. But, once you get it back to normal.....wipe it down with CorrosionX, then take a cloth, spray it down with CorrosionX, put it in a ziplock bag, stick that bag in your blind bag.....from now on just wipe the gun down in the duck blind or wherever before putting it back into the case, truck, car, house, cabinet, safe, wherever it is you put it. You shouldn't have any more problems. But....how to get it off, I'll leave that up to the others to explain. Good Luck with it.
