Mine was a wingmaster. I briefly had two Novas, and after the smoothness of the 870, it was impossible to keep them and feel good about it.

    Super 90

Since you're in such a rush, I'll take a stab. Which Super 90 model/variation? Look out for the usual stuff on any used gun. Signs of abuse and wear, or signs of use and care. Price? How old is it? What kind of condition is it in? www.gunbroker.com www.auctionarms.com www.gunsamerica.com
  3. Sheez, fellow. Let it settle a while. Nobody's being paid to answer you questions here, and it is a weekend. This forum is for Benelli owners and enthusiasts to share information. It's NOT Butterball's friggin turkey hotline on Thanksgiving

Could be true with the latest crop of Remingtons. My opinion was based on the one I owned for 25 years and never gave a minute's trouble. Solid as a rock and hands down the best firearm I've owned. Of course, I haven't had my SBEII but 18 months, so there's still hope

    Just one.

  7. Take a look at the exterior ballistics chart above. You'll see some interesting things happening downrange. The relatively light and fast 70 grain bullet gets out of the gate fast, but drops as the lighter bullet loses steam downrange. The heavier/slower 100 grain drops about the same amount because more energy and thus momentum is retained with the heavier bullet. One could get a compensator dial setup for the 70 grain, and with practice take chucks at 500 yards. That same dial would put him within a couple of inches of point of aim on whitetail deer at extended ranges. There is, of course, a lot more to long range shooting than turning a dial. Windage must be read and adjusted for. Cant must be eliminated. And lots of practice will build the confidence to know when to shoot and when to get closer. By the way, the above data is from Federals Ballistics program and can be downloaded from their site. You can plug in wind speeds, elevations, etc. and tweak your loads to suit your situations.
  8. You've been teasing us with that stuff weeks now, M1014. Cough up the goods already!

  10. Cuz, Could you work on the whole quoting thing a bit? The "Edit" button is a nice feature too.

Now I didn't say which Tuesday.
  12. Love it on my varmint rifle. Yes, I had to order one based on elevation, barrell length, average ambient temp., and load data. But on the 22-250, all of the loads are similar enough in trajectory that I'm still going to be very very close out to 500 yards.
  13. We've got a local guy who's retired from the upholstery business, but he still does favors every now and then. We'll be working on it in the next couple of weeks. I'll try to set it up and get a few pics. it's an Avery pop-up. We modified the mounts so that it can be taken completely off the boat in about 3 minutes by two men. Mostly, we hunt in permanent blinds, so we don't use the pop-up that much.
  14. The next project is to make some decoy bags that fit under the rails and hang down. I've already got some 1000 d cordura, just waiting for warmer days. Trying to do something like this guy did. http://www.duckboats.net/launching2.htm
  15. Cleric, Didn't see your post until now. Yes, we always put a few ducks about 20 yards downwind and to one side of the geese. Late season, we also drop a lone goose about halfway between the others and the ducks. We position two goose magnets like they're dropping into the pocket from right over the ducks. Last day we hunted, the wind shifted three times. I moved at least half the decoys each time. We whacked 9 over that spread and should've had more, so I think I did the right thing.

  18. Forward? Pull down first, and then rearward (towards the butt) If the gun is camo, it will be a bit tight. Inserting a dowel through the guard will give you more to grap onto.

Ebay There was one on there the other day.

  21. Both lengths are too short to achieve optimal pressures and velocities from the given caliber, so that's not a factor. What's left is a question of whether you want a slightly higher muzzle velocity and better downrange trajectory, or a shorter barrel for easier handling in heavy cover. If you're staying in NC, I'd say go with the shorter barrel. If you're going to NM to elk hunt, consider the longer one.
  22. For a long time, I didn't understand the need for camo underwear. But if you think about it makes sense. Regardless of the circumstances that brought you to the point where you are now down to your underwear in the field, the last thing you want is to be seen. And yes, I could. But I need a model. So, as soon as mudhen posts a picture of himself in his Manties, I'll get to work on it.
  23. Well, Here's a subject we've never discussed before I like Primos Dead Zone tubes. I've had a very good, albeit abbreviated, season with them this year.
  24. Guilty by association. That's what animal rights groups and anti-hunters think when they look at this disgrace and then at us. We, as sportsmen, need to do whatever we can to let the non-hunting world know that this kind of thing is just as wrong in our eyes as it is in anyone's. In many ways, we should be even more outraged than PETA and other animal rights groups. They see it as a means to their end... an opportunity to sell their product and gain more control over us. We see it as a direct threat to the very things that we enjoy the most. PLEASE. If anyone knows anything about this case, call it in, and let's make sure that anyone who'll listen to us understands that we are against the senseless and wastefull slaughter of game. Sportsmen didn't do this, but we can do something about it.
