  1. Yeah I'm the same way with those fing bee's. Man you got a steal on that scope. I love e-bay, the pawn shop for the world. (Not to mention there stock has split twice since I've owned it.) Another thing I wasn't sure if your model 12 was chambered in 22-250. I believe the model 12 comes in 3 calibers. But 22-250 is definitely a fun round to shoot. I couldn't believe the fps when I first came across the 22-250. I thought the info. I was given was wrong. Well it isn't and the 22-250 is one of the fastest moving rounds around. That bad boy can get to over 4000 fps. I'd take tuckers advice on dealing with anyone on e-bay thats hiding their feedback. Theres only one logical reason to hide feedback, and thats cause its lousy. Plus a name change, I'd stay away. Tucker is due a ty for the heads up, oh and for taking the bee population down of course.
  2. Even if the taxidermist thing is a wash you've done us all proud. Especially those of us who are unfortunately allergic to bee-stings. Nice varmit set-up you've got there. I guess it can also double as an insect repellent. Now if it were a bumble bee it wouldn't be all that impressive. All bs aside thats some pretty accurate work. Nice shooting. Oh are those big fat groundhogs going to pay. ****n you groundhogs, ****n you.....

    SBE II POA

mudhen, I have never swapped beads on a Benelli. I was going on your post that it was "difficult." Now you contradict yourself by saying its "no big deal"??? I should of never stuck my nose in anyways being as I don't even own an SBE II. I do agree with your advice on the shims. Enough...Back to my hole.

Hey pbro21 for the amount of coin you dropped on your new firearm (I'm guessing well over a grand) I would go back to the dealer. Don't fool around with a new front sight. You could mar the barrel (decreasing the value), who knows. Call your dealer see what they'll do, last resort send it to Benelli.

In reference to your inital post pbro21: Are you using the same ammo consistently? Various brands can pattern different outta the same firearm. What about distance? As you probably know the further you shoot the lower your groups are and vice versa if your shooting closer than usual (pattern high). A quick and simple fix for a firearm that you POSITIVELY know is going to shoot high, is to aim low. Its definitely quick and simple but consistency is bound to suffer. Some of the above factors seem so obvious, yet I've seen the various examples ruin a shooters day.
  6. rong if you want a mag ext. that isn't matte black (thats the only type I saw on the sites above) nickel, timber, whatever try http://www.calssportingarmory.com/. They have mag. ext. in all kinds of finishs to match your model. Call or e-mail them their site may say there out of stock but they may have what you want, just haven't updated the site. Another good source is Mann and Sons they don't have a website that I'm aware of but they'll give you a good price. Do a search on this site and you'll find there number. They will deliver cod if you want. *EDIT* I must be tired I just noticed the original post was from April. All that typing for zip. I'm hitting the rack... 7. I take it your talking about the "rattling" of the fore end grip. If you look close it moves along with the rails on the action slide assembly. (which its attached too.) So tightening down the screws won't change anything, unfortunately. Its my only complaint about the nova it has to much play in my oppionon. It doesn't give the gun a "solid" feeling thats for sure. However once you run rounds through it you realize its a good gun in all the right places.

    50. cal

sbeIIfan you may or may not know this. You can potentially shoot 4 different rounds out of that bad boy in adition to the 50AE. (depending on model) You can shoot .44 mag., .357 mag., 41 mag., and .440 Cor-Bon. The 44 mag. requires a diff. barrel and magazine. The other rounds require a diff. bolt assembly in addition to barrel and mag swaps. It's quite expensive but the option is there. I have a friend that is obsessed with the .50AE and he has the various barrels , mags, etc. I've shot it numerous times and you can get very accurate with practice. Its actually got similarities to the AR15 believe it or not. Like tucker301 said hold on and don't flinch! Oh and pick up your shells you may want to look into re-loading as those .50AE rounds ain't cheap. Have fun. [ 06-27-2005, 04:17 PM: Message edited by: FN_FAL ]
  9. Sweeeeeeet.... I've seen many types of guns with all kinds of mods. I must say that is the first shotgun I've ever seen with a bipod. Looks like you have some type of halo sight on it as well.?. I bet you have fun with that beast. And the real deal retractable stock.NICE. I feel like Homer Simpson except I'm not dreaming about food, ummmmmm, ohhhhh guns!!!! M1014 you need to admit you have a problem. The first step is the hardest but you have to admit to yourself you're an addict. I'm forming a group called gunsaholic's, the problem is nobody wants to stop their habit. Myself included...
  10. Yeah Wilson Combat/Scattergun Technologies 870's and 1100's are sweetass shotguns. Very, very nice.... They are worth every penny and the wait. I've got a border patrol with all the extra's. My name is FN_FAL and I'm a gunaholic....
  11. I've got to say my stomach is hurting from laughing so hard, literally. I'm in frigginn tears... From tucker's "dial" post to cherok9878's post about the quaker oatmeal!!!! Then the mothership, ahhhh man this is some A1 comedy. You guys are all killing me. GG even you've got to admit these guys are comical genius's. Funny as shhiitt is funny as sshhiitt..... Oh man the cherrio's thing.... sheesh I can't stop laughing..........
  12. I just posted in a diff. thread that I didn't think a mag ext. that would give you 6-8-10 extra rounds existed. After reading the above thread about the guy claiming to have a 16 and a 22 round ext. I still think they don't exist. It gave me a laugh though. Can you imagine the size of the gun? How about the weight of it fully loaded? It would look like something out of a cartoon. If I'm wrong (its happened many times) someone please show me a pic. or link to where I could see the 22 round shotgun with me own 2 eyes. Specifically a shotgun fed by a tube magazine. 13. I don't think a (shotgun) magazine extension that will give you 6-8-10 extra rounds is manufactured. I could be wrong, but I've never come across one or even heard of one. You could add a side saddle to the receiver and even the stock if you want extra rounds at the ready.
  14. Gotta disagree with you GunGuy when you say "Now see I don't think it is such a good idea to hunt any kind of game with rimfire I mean look at the size of what your using, its so small. I could only use centerfire cartridges for hunting with a big shell and high velocity and energy." Obviously your not hunting water buffalo with a 17 HMR or mach 2. fw707 said "small game" small being the operative word. As for "look at the size of what your using, its so small." Our military's primary rifle round is 5.56 cal. or .223 in millimeters. The .223 is a small bullet but we're all aware of what it can do. My buddy sent me an .mpg of a groundhog being hit with a 17 HMR and it literally blew the groundhog into dozens of piece's. If the groundhog weren't a rodent and was small game and had some meat one might want to eat than this would be a problem. Now if you were to shoot a rabbit with the intention of eating the meat you could do so with the 17 just using a diff. load and taking a head shot. The 17's a great varmit, small game, highly accurate plinking gun. Yet it's so small....
  15. Coloradoryan as long as posting info. that is useful (to anyone, for any purpose) I don't care how long the post is. Your post was a good one and I liked the side by side comp. of the diff. loads and the diagram. I've got a couple books on the history of rounds, modern rounds, etc. it had all kinds of cool info plus diagrams giving exact dimensions of rounds. I have people confuse the 17 Rem. with the 17 HMR, and the 17 HM2. The rem. is centerfire and has been around for some time, while the other 2 are rim, yet the other two can't be shot out of the same gun either, HMR basically a necked down 22 WMR while M2 is a necked down 22 LR. Are we confused yet? Anyways both rounds have a velocity that is literally twice the speed of sound (hence the M2's name) the HMR is 2.5 times faster than the speed of sound! Over 2550 fps. that's remarkable velocity. fw 707 thats a nice setup. Oh p.s. sorry for the long post.....heheheh
  16. Just read the thread, and have to add my 2 cents about Sako's. They make some nice rifles. Tikka's are a little more cost effective than Sako's but good guns in there own right. My buddy has a tactical T3 with a ridiculous nobody is safe springfield armory scope on it. It shoots nice, but its no Sako TRG-42 (chambered in 338 Lapua Mag of course.) Thats one sick round, ouch my shoulder and my wallet hurt just thinking of that combo. [ 06-13-2005, 11:36 PM: Message edited by: FN_FAL ]
  17. Must say this turned into a funny asss thread. Thanks for the laughs people...
  18. fw707 I agree with your choice. We ent several 22's and the 10/22 is the most reliable in that price range. Only downside is its kinda tricky to chamber the first round, once you know how to its a pice of cake. It uses a rotary type magazine which is fairly reliable. The 10/22 has a bunch of high cap. mags for after sale. The most reliable is the 10 shot rotary mag it comes with. If you get high cap mag's stay away from those constructed of plastic. This holds true for most firearms, rifles or pistols. If it's platic with a steel liner thats better. The best are those constructed entirely of steel. Lot of choices dpends on how much you want to spend.
  19. Your right about one thing GG and that is 22's are cheap (generally speaking) However they are a pain in the asss to clean, and they jam more than any other firearm I've been around. Its a pretty unreliable round. The reasons they jam more than any other gun is numerous but two reasons are the round itself is weak so it doesn't have much cycling power, secondly the gun being used is not clean. You can get higher velocity rounds that help with cycling (if you go semi-suto). Also make sure your gun is 100% clean. You can shoot for cheap with 22lr's but you might also get frustrated. The above isn't in stone by any means its just what my experience has shown me.
  20. It looks like the top gun (I believe the M4) has some type of retractable stock. Or is it a fake me out? Whatever it is its a **** nice piece. Man I love ghost ring's almost as much as I love picatinny rails! Every shotgun should come with picatinny rails IMO, or at least be drilled and tapped. Nice set up!
  21. The "other" plastic is polymer, and is what basically made people either hate or love Glocks, as they were the first to mass produce polymer frame handguns. Your right GG polymer is exremely durable and is on many guns nowadays. It has its +'s and -'s. The enire stock and receiver of the nova is. About the question of the nova lasting long term its a good one. But its kind of hard to answer. As your well aware 870's have been around since the begining of time and have a solid reputation as being work horse's. The nova hasn't been around all that long so its hard to compare its longevity to that of the 870. Only time will tell. I have had one for only several months, its a decent shotgun. You can shoot any shell size you want out of it. The one thing I don't like about the nova is that the stock and receiver is all one piece. You can't add anything on or take anything off, so "customizing" it is out of the picture. No pistol grips, folding stocks, etc. I like to modify most of my guns, so to me this is a negative. If your happy with the nova out of the box, than you won't have any problems. The gun is after all made by Benelli so that in itself lets you know you have a reputable manufacturer on your side.

    Rate the nova

Congratulations! If you use the search button and type in "nova" you'll get about 15 pages or so of info. There are different nova models but all I've ever read is that people like them. I own a nova H20 and like it just fine. Hey a free gun makes it that much better.
  23. Are you over compensating for something? HMMMM?You can be honest. Can I borrow some money? This whole thing has spun outta control. The main POINT I believe, was mudhen didn't like Benelli making a false claim. That particular claim is that Benelli states they have the fastest shotguns in the world. Well they don't. So it's a false statement. No one has said anything negative about Benelli. mudhen mentioned he has bought several Benellis over the years and he likes them just fine. I own a couple as well and think there great guns. (I really want to get my hands on that M3 folder thats just popped up, that is what the loan would be for so you can see it is for a great cause. I just gotta add that bad boy to my collection. They say its even NIB!! So western union me the money. Thanks) Now someone hit this whole thread with some 000 buck please. The original one and this spin off.
  24. In my experience ported barrels decrease muzzle climb more than anything else. It technically has to lessen recoil because your letting some gas escape. I don't think recoil is reduced as much as in a gas gun. One thing I'm positive of is it makes your gun dirty in a hurry!
  25. Is your M3 a folder? Is it a pre 94 gun? If so and you want to get rid of it let me know. Heres a link for Benelli manuals. http://www.benelli.it/ServizioClienti/UsoManut/Body.asp?Lan=EN [ 05-28-2005, 06:15 PM: Message edited by: FN_FAL ]
