  1. Good post Gun Guy, thanks, not the usual BS you put out, keep up the good work.
  2. There is little/if anything you can do to prevent the metal from oxidizing. Coatings to protect it from the atmosphere are your only alternative. The cheapest and easiest is simple, spray can,"clear" laquer. This will be a temporary procedure at best, depending on use. These parts are not 100% AL, They are an alloy combination primarily of AL and Zink. If you could glass bead the parts and then finish with laquer they would closely resemble stainless steel. good luck...........
  3. Garbage Guy, American River College, Everyone on campus knows!!!!!
  4. sdkidaho Thanks for the information, puts an end to the rumor dosen't it. what do you think, will the prices of Ithaca guns go up or down?
  5. I know this is not prudent info for this site but can anyone furnish any information. Is this rumor true?
  6. Tucker, what facts did you get crooked, bent, misaligned, incorrect or upside down? Should your post have contained Scope or Listerine mouthwash? as for making the laminated stock, I would use Quaker oatmeal (original) to hold my cherrios together. Pack mould tightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, let stand for 5 minutes before serving, excuse me, opening. do not use oil to finish it makes things soggy.
  7. Give Benelli customer service a call, they may fix it for free.
  8. sdkidaho, I shot the Beretta Extrema2 in a comparison process with the Benelli. The Beretta is a very good gun. I chose the Benelli over the Beretta for one reason only. The Beretta, to me, seemed muzzle heavy and did not swing as easily as the Benelli. I chose the M2 and do not regret the purchase at all. I respect tuckers advise, he is always straightforward. Why not rent the guns you want to consider and shoot them at a range. If this is not applicable to your situation, ask some of the people at your local sporting clays range for some advise. Most shooters are willing to help. If we were closer, you could shoot my Benelli at any time.
  9. 97ramsst, don't know about the M1, ask tucker or mudhen. The Browning A5 does have a light/heavy load setting. Take the forearm and barrel off. on the magazine tube, there is a brass friction ring, a recoil spring and a small steel ring, flat on one side beveled on the other. Light load, small steel ring on mag tube first, flat side up, recoil spring, brass friction ring, barrel, forearm,etc.. Heavy load, Recoil spring, small steel ring beveled side up, brass friction ring, barrel, forearm, etc Some of the older guns had the installation sequence on a paper diagram on the inside of the forearm. Reluctantly, any prolonged use of the gun usually rendered this unreadable. Hope this helps........... Light loads with the Browning A5 usually was 3 1/4 dr of powder and 1 1/4 oz shot.
  10. Hi GG, sorry it took me so long to get back, been fishing. List is quite infantile but answer is "no" to all. Thank's for your concern. [ 06-19-2005, 12:08 PM: Message edited by: cherok9878 ]
  11. /back to cold fusion... Tucker, you're to late, Garbage - excuse me - Gun Guy has solved that. Winter, beer outside!
  12. mudhen, I have read a couple comments on the net about crio chokes deforming with steel or heavy shot usage. I also believe there was a post on this site about the producer of Terror chokes not being impressed with the crio design? Could there be choke problems in our "crio" future?
  13. Garbage Guy, See, it's not just me...... I think Tucker indicated on a recent post....... It is better to be silent and let people think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!!!
  14. deerdropper13, what do you use to clean your 870 and what oil/preservative do you use to protect the surface?
  15. sdkidaho,,,,,You live in a bird hunters paradise. hope you an Uli have a good fall season. keep us posted
  16. sbeIIfan, it is a "heavy" or "Bull" barrel, usually much more accurate than a standard tapered barrel. The prefered choice for match or competition shooting.
  17. Coloradoryan, Excellent post on the shim process!
  18. Butch-M I have a S686 Special Beretta and contact with Beretta USA, several years ago produced this info. Tucker is correct on years of manufacture. There were two versions of the gun, S686 Special and S686Special "Lightweight" designated by a gold "L" on the trigger guard. The lightweight gun was true to it's name, less than 6 lb. Recoil is horrendous with heavy loads. They were produced with 2.75" and 3.0" chambers with 3.0" being more prevelant. Beretta(Italy) can give more info but you must contact them by letter as all e-mail from the US is returned to BerettaUSA. Hope this is helpful. 19. sbeIIfan, ask some of the other shooters who frequent you range. If you don't use a range check out the local Yellow Pages, let your fingers do the walking. The gun industry needs young, responsible people to be involved, welcome and enjoy your sbe2, it is a fantastic machine.
  20. Quote from Al Case I hunt pheasants, geese and ducks....mostly pass shooting for geese. QUOTE 2004-2005 Hunting and Fishing Digest Official Laws and Regulations Legal Arms and Ammunition For Hunting. Migratory Birds....Shotguns, 10 gauge or smaller, plugged or otherwise incapable of holding more than 3 shells using standard No2 shot or smaller, "EXCEPT WATERFOWL" "MUST" be hunted with steel shot only, T-size or smaller and waterfowl hunters shall not possess any other size steel shot or any size lead shot. I have been informed by the Law Enforcement Division of this states Game and Fisheries Division, that the use of steel shot is a Federaly Mandated requirement. Now Al Case is shooting a beretta and he is hunting mostly waterfowl, which by law requires steel shot, and you Gun Guy are telling him to use Full, Imp Mod, and Mod chokes, which could damage his beretta. More Garbage and bad information from the gun guy, and oh yes, now he is a man of the cloth. Tell me Gun Guy What does the good book say about bearing False Witness and telling the truth? You can never redeem your credibility! [ 05-13-2005, 08:41 PM: Message edited by: cherok9878 ]
  21. quote by the gun guy: And for geese I would use a IM** choke and for ducks I would use a M*** you can go fore the factory full choke but It doesn't work out to well for me or any of my family. This dosen't look like other people made this statement gun guy. It is in your above post. A reply to al case. You should add another "G" to your handle, may I suggest "GARBAGE". It seems that you put out a lot of it!!!!

tucker, "THE GUN GUY" dosen't know the difference!!!! You can tell this by his post's. With some people, it is mouth in gear and brain in neutral. And to beat it all, They think they can BS everyone on every subject. I'm concerned that someone will really listen to some of these wild ramblings and be injured or permanently disabled.
