  1. Perhaps ... I've been a tad hasty in my theory ... ??? I of course meant no disrespect to ANY of my left handed brethren. Why ... some of my best friends are lefty! (Wonder if the boys on "Refuge Forum" are less prone to radical behavior modification techniques???)
  2. HMmmm ... the plot THICKENS! I wonder what those eye-talians could have against Gander Mountain. Aside from the incongruous name ... ganders are normally associated with ponds and fields, not mountains ... right??? Ever seen ganders sashaying around ridges and cliffs? This might steer the trail away from the disputatious lefty theory ahey??? Speaking of whom ... looking at it from the right ... I mean bright side ... perhaps that's why so many lefties been driven to become so successful ... poking I mean. An occasional “prod” can be healthy for mind and body. (Smile) Can get the blood circulating. The mind cogs may be stirred to creak and rotate ... overcoming the natural adhesive properties of the congealed lubricants. Breathing may increase in speed and volume. We can become more focused and aware. We may revisit old, tried and true techniques that have slipped into disuse; like ... say ... controlling our emotions. We can reconnect with our Devine deity. (Or deities in some less progressive types) Yes , surely the patience, understanding and wisdom which are the means of the Forum Masters; can teach us “The Way” ... to quell ... and reform those suspected of “Forum Bullying?” Or ... then again ... we can just go over to the “Dark Side” like somebody else we know. (And love) You know ... this joe117 guy ... just might fit in after all.
  3. I heard a rumor they didn't drill LH guns because they were discriminating against lefties. Threatened with litigation, they broke down ... but I think there might be lingering resentment. Say, mudhen ... how many wood stocks have you broken? You've got to be the shootenist son of a gun west of the Mississippi.
  4. Are you actually looking for answers to those questions ... or were they rhetorical?
  5. No viggle in my barrel connection. If I go postal on the forend, I can get it (plastic only) to torque a tiny bit.
  6. WOW ... a message from member #1!!! Like hearing from one of the apostles. The new site has GOT to be great!
  7. I'm distraught. Not only do I HAVE a center bead ... it's offset! On TOP of that ... I've been beating the snot out of my barrel. Two dings in the rib! I don't know whether to self flagellate or just sit with my head in my hands. NOW ... I'm going to convince myself that the right side offset is DESIGNED by those Italian bass#@*ds FOR right handed shooters and not take it personally. (Conspiracy???) I don't want anybody bursting my rationalization. Far as the dings go ... I don't know how to handle that yet. But ... I'll figure out something to ease the pain and suffering. I'm leaning towards blaming the airlines for whacking my barrel around when I was flying down to the Kenedy Ranch in Texas for some spectacular waterfowl shooting last January. I'm telling myself the finish being worn off on sections of the receiver is a sign of extensive use, and indicates all the FUN I've been having with my Benelli. The same feeling I get when I look at my grandfather's old 1920 Browning A5 that has NO bluing left, and zero checkering left ... completely worn down and gone checkering!!! That works for me. Otherwise ... I could think this gun is ready for the scrap heap.
  8. Well, I'll tell you what ... for $1,500.00 ... you'd think the center bead would line up ... don't you? I mean you wouldn't expect the name to be bent on a pair of Swarovski binoculars would ya? Now, I hope you guys are happy, you had me wide eyed at 1:00am; wondering ... do I have a center bead? AND ... if I DO have a center bead; where is it on my barrel??? What do I do if it's crooked? IF ... I cut the thing off, will it look worse than leaving it crooked? The suspense! Soon as the sun comes up I’m pulling up the floorboards in the shed and checking out my beads. I can only hope this doesn't degenerate into a nightmare scenario. PS ... stand by ... I might be back asking for help. Butch
  9. Not being particularly concerned about center beads (to be honest I don't even know if my SBEII HAS one) ... I will however advance the notion; that any slug's POI at 40 yards; through any smoothbore; even using a 20x scope; will match POA very nearly zero percent of the time. Lining up two beads ??? Lucky to hit a Brontosuarus. Need a better example to advance the importance of "bead" alignment argument.
  10. Reminds me of the crap we used to inflict on each other in the old neighborhood. How nobody got killed or maimed eludes me to this day. LOL The complete lack of remorse from the perpetrators, and lack of sympathy for the poor fool victim is ... classic.

  12. Thanks ... it's hard to tell from what the media feeds us. Nice to hear the truth from a trustworthy Benelli guy.
  13. How's that for evolution???
  14. Welcome aboard JLS ... what's the score down in N. Orleans these days? Things coming back after Katrina?
  15. LOL ... Yeah, that "Other" guy has NO IDEA how he dodged the mudhen bullet ... "At my signal; unleash h*ll" LOL
  16. Well, whether a Toyota is "as good" as a Ferrari is dependant upon what criteria you are using to judge them. A $15.00 Stanley claw hammer may not be as good or fast as a $300.00 Bostitch pneumatic nail gun either ... but if doesn't need $500.00 worth of support equipment, hoses, maintenance, upkeep, it has an infinite life span, it’s portable, and in a pinch can do double duty as a weapon. Taking for granted that speed, exotic looks, cutting edge technology and materials, and unsurpassed soul are the criteria you’re using ... the Ferrari is better because the Italians build with their souls, the Japanese build with their calculators. Driven off a cliff, your Toyota will be exactly as fast as the Ferrari though! Evolution??? Metamorphosis? Now, that's another subject entirely ... Dawin or Creator theory? LOL
  17. LOL ... I haven't seen it ... and don't intent to. Not for any particularly "thing" about gays. I dated a VERY liberal NY area Newspaper Editor for about a year, so I've seen my share of their world, been to enough dinners, barbeques, and parties with them. I'm simply in rebellion against the liberal media trying to bulldoze the picture to Oscars and to brainwash everyone into believing that homosexuality is a right and admirable lifestyle. In yet another attempt to ADVANCE THEIR AGENDA to undermine both Christian values, and American values, and what we (the majority) have always held in high esteem. The strength, pure masculinity, steadfast resolve of the HETEROSEXUAL Cowboy in this particular case.
  18. "Forum Bully" ... I like that. It has sort of a homophobic ring to it. Like a cowboy inadvertantly wandered into a NYC gay bar and started kicking a$$ on his way back out the door. Brute, animal, beastie, savage ... yelled with the proper outrage, indignation, whisppy enunciation and a limp wrist of course.
  19. You guys crack me up ... LOL
  20. I broke mine in with assorted 1700 to 2000 fps slugs ... which I'm sure provided as much teeth rattling recoil as any stout shotshell. When all was done, it cycles "reduced recoil" lightfields that are so slow you can practically watch their flight ... and Winchester AA's without a hitch.
