  1. Congrats. on your new purchase! There really isn't nothing to it, the only place that really needs oil is the slide rail. Just clean your gun, and befor you put everything back together, squirt a little oil on each gruve that the bolt slides on, and you done a perfectly oiled gun. btw a quick tip. Clean your magazine every other time you clean your gun, this will keep your action from hanging.
  2. I have never hunted in Ontario, but I would be glad to swap you hunts. Say a Texas panhandle pheasant/ quail hunt with my pointing lab and me for a guide, for an opportunity to hunt ducks and geese in the north country. Here are some pics from last year. Enjoy!! Choice

Go with a SBE2, not only is it a GREAT waterfowling gun it also points quite nicely, I use mine for every thing from dove to crain and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Who knows, if the gun fits you well, you might just become a one gun man. because it shoots so well
  4. Have you thought about geting a stock with out a raised cheek piece? If that is what you have, it could be simple fix and you don't need a gunsmith to chang your stock Good luck
  5. Tuck, how do you like your 223wssm ? is worth trading off my 223 and steping up to a real powder burner? btw I load my 223 with 25.7g benchmark & 50g nosler BT shoots high .4s to mid .6s bunnies beware
  6. I like your line of thought, out of all those buildings I am shure that you could make one heck of a duckblind right in the middle of the ''bowl''
  7. They have engineers too They are doing a lot of work to reconstruct the wetlands the were hit with hurricanes last year as well

    Jamming SBE

Make shere that there is no junk in the carrier spring, also add a little oil the the pins that the carrier is attached to. If the carrier is sticking the bolt will not close and you will have the problem stated above Good luck
  9. Wich ever you like best, I have shot all the critters listed above with 26 and 28'' barrels. I would go with the one that points best for you, my SBE has a 28'' barrel and my brother has a 26'' barrel on his. They both shoot about the same, but we each have our own set of prefferences and it is probably the same for you Good Luck
  10. I have never hunted south of the border, but my favorite load choke combo is imp. cyl. and a stout load of 71/2 shot. You can nock any dove dead out to about 35yds. Just make shure that you lead them enough. My best shoot to date is a 15 bird limmit with 22 shots useing the combo stated above Black Jack you are right on I coulden't think of a better reason for getting a new shotgun, since mine is camo too.
  11. I have never shot wolf shotgun ammo, but I have shot a fair amount of rifle and handgun ammo. It works alright, it is fairly accurate but the quality could be a little beter. My only gripe is that the hollow points some times don't expand and you have to shoot you bunny twice But then, again this is cheap ammo and I am just practicing, I probably would not use this ammo if it were a life and death situation Just my 2 cents worth

    Choke Tubes

Are you refering to the Benelli chokes? Yes you can shoot lead shot through all Benelli chokes. Just make shure that you don't shoot steel through your full and imp. mod. chokes
  13. They are good decoys,(I have 15 of them) But like any brand of decoy, they WILL need to be painted befor the next season
  14. That's what most of my spread is made up of, The first place to look for a leak on the 'beaus, is right where the keel is molded to the body. Other than that I think thier good decoys.

    pistol laws

Duggan, Thats pretty tough, I am glad to say that I have never had an experance like that. Where I am at, you have to drive 20 miles just to get a jug of milk. ALL of my neaghbors have a 223 or shotgun in their pickup and this is normal One thing that people in Texas should know about is this, It is criminal Trespassing if you walk onto some ones land with a firearm, AND you DON"T have permission to be there. You will lose your firearm in the end. Other than that, the law enforcement is pretty easy to get along with if you obey the rules. Scott
  16. DJ, there is a lot of good advice there, if you with an auto, the SBE1 is hard to beat they are a little cheaper now, since the is a SBE2. I use my SBE for everything I have shot everything from dove to crain with it, 100% reliable !! last year was a good preasant year, and the gun was used verry hard. there were no jams due to dirt in the action. The shim kit is the best part, benellis point just as well as doubles because of it. there is my 2 cents
  17. It doesn't matter what gun you choose, just take the time to patteren your gun. Shotguns are like rifles, when it comes to patterening. Shot size is VERY important, just because your gun does not patteren well with a particular brand, going up or down 1 shot size from what you have already tested can make a world of difference. btw I shoot a SBE, it is the best investment I have ever made So have fun and enjoy your new gun, whatever it is
