  1. The reason thet I purchased a new recoil spring for my gun, is that the action seemed to cycle slower than it used to. To my understanding a more power spring will make it harder for your gun to cycle the light stuff, but will improve the performance of your gun when shooting heavy loads. my $.02 make shure everything is clean and go from there
  2. I buy just about all of my target loads at w-mart, that I shoot through my LH SBE and I have had no problems. The few times that I have experianced this problem it has been one of these 3 reasons, 1----the mag tube was dirty 2----the pin that holds the shell carrier in place had trash or build up around it so the spring did not have enough power to move the shell carrier properly 3---- when I go pheasant hunting, the shells that roll around in the bottom of your vest for a month get scrached up and they WILL not feed as well as new shells. As far as the recoil spring goes, my SBE will shoot one oz. loads with no problems, and this is with a factory spring. With season number 3 coming to an end with the SBE I ordered a 25% more power recoil spring from Wolf and it will still shoot the 11/8oz. loads with no problems . Good luck
  3. I am going to meet up with my cousin in south centeral Nebraska for a turkey/praire dog hunt in mid April. They have a good number of birds and an out of state lisence is around $80.00 Hope that helps [ 03-08-2006, 02:29 PM: Message edited by: Ol'Roy ]
  4. I have a SBE, it will shoot 1oz. loads with no problems. Please note this is with the factory spring The other day I ordered a 25% more power recoil spring from Wolf. After shooting 3 3'' pheasant loads with the new spring, my SBE will still shoot 11/8 oz. loads with no problems. I was fresh out of 1 oz. shells when I tried out my new spring. After I get some more 1oz. loads I will let you know how they work. P.S you WILL not be disapointed with the SBE II buy it today and tomorrow you will say that is the best investment I ever made

    Nova Forend

I have 3 remington firearms, a LH express 870, 870 super mag with the hardwoods camo finnish and a LH 11-87. I bought my LH 870 six years ago and two and a half years later I picked up my supermag. I have had NO problems with either gun. I used to think that my 11-87 was great but after I got my SBE I hardly ever shoot it. My only gripe with remington shotguns is that, for me anyway, thier stocks are to short. I am 6'2'' and 190 lbs and every remington shotgun I pick up I wish that the stock was 1'' longer. This even goes for the newest models on the dealers shelf.
  6. Butch-M, That was very enlightening I only wish that there was a way to get ABC NBC CBS FOX ect. to air something like this during primetime so all Americans could have a clue about Islam
  7. Great pics would someone tell me how to add pics to a post I would like to post a few myself
  8. For not having that $7.00 stamp on your license it is supposed to be a $200.00 fine
  9. The ruger mkII is a very nice pistol so nice that I have 2 of them I have not shot any other brand of semi automatic 22 Cal pistol except yhe ruger . If you do get one you will not be dissapointed

    Hevi-13

So who can I order heavi-13 from
  11. You need to stop waiting and start buying The 1911 style pistol is easy to handle and FUN to shoot the only reason that one would need a conversion kit is if he didn't have an endless supply of money, to make a shooting trip fun it is always nice to have about 500 rds. of ammo per trip. You may be thinking to your self that the 45 is heavy on recoil but conpaired to my KP95 from Ruger and my bros. smith in 9mm I would say that the 45 is more pleasant to shoot. The recoil seems to come straight back where as the 9mm has more of a muzzle flip
  12. I purchased a kimber 22 conversion kit for my colt 1911 they are well built units the only gripe I have is that it will only shoot federal ammo the other stuff doesn't seem to cycle the action evere time
  13. Butch-M Thanks for clearing up what a "silent heart attack" is. You can learn something new every day
  14. According to the radio station I was listening to yesterday they said the fellow had a silent heart attack didn't know heart attacks made noise
  15. Thanks I got the exthnsion on the way. The ducks are starting to show bach up hear in the Texas panhandle saw a flock of about 8 - 10 thousand Sunday night that means the snows are on there way and I am ready
  16. Has anyone ever purchased a mag extension for there SBE. If so how well do you like it ?
  17. My favorite for goose is jerky. Bought one of those monster calking guns that you can put meat in and it will shoot out these nice strips if meat. Just grind your goose brest in a hamberger grinder and mix it with one of the prepackeged jerkey mixes make a series of strips of meat on the pan and stick it in the oven for however long the directions say to. on a side note the jerkey WILL taste better if you let it sit a day in the frige I don't know why this is but it's the truth. There is nothing more satisfing than eating your own jerkey while hunting knowing that with every bird that you shoot it is just that much more jerkey for you
  18. I've shot rabbits with a stevens 411 SxS it's about the same as shooting a rabbit with an SBE although I think the SBE points better that is a matter of personal prefference. As far as ''in close'' goes if your shots are going to be within 15 to 20 yards it really doesn't matter what choke you have in either you hit or miss Happy Hunting
  19. That seems odd that the finnish is in such poor shape right out of the box. I have an SBE and a nova both shotguns had a great camo finish. After 3 years of hard hunting the only wear marks on the firearms is right where you hold them
  20. Thats the only way to do it . If you dont like taking the cap off leave the plug out and put the cap back in and just drop the plug in the hole. Every thing will still work great. Also while you have the cap off it never does hurt to pull the magazine spring and follower out for a quick clean it's unbeliveable how much dirt is in there when you only put (clean) shells in there Good Luck
  21. I bought my 870 super mag 3 years ago I think that the quality keeps getting better all the time I've had no trouble with my 870 and have shot everything from quail to crains with it
  22. My SBE doesn't look like much of a trap gun, but at the last trap shoot I went to I walked away with $75 in my pocket. Who said you can't shoot trap with a (field gun)
  23. Sad to hear that your nova came. You should have just went out and bought a SBE because as soon as you get one you will never shoot your nova again
  24. I would add a little more oil to your moving parts than you would normaly put on for the first few times that you shoot your gun. after that keep it clean and shoot alot I bought my LHSBE in 05-04 it is the BEST investment I have ever made
