As far as I know, no. I could be wrong though, but that's what I've been told.

It is supposedly about half the weight. What those weights are, I don't know. Message "Cleefurd" and he will tell you.

The 4 ported barrels only caused issues for some people after very high round counts ... and the issue was only increased wear on the BCG, not ultimate destruction of the gun. If it IS a 4 port barrel, you can either sell the m4 for profit on GB and then look for a reasonably priced 11707 elsewhere, keep it as is and use it, or buy a replacement 2 port barrel. Heck, some people on here have posted looking for low recoil barrels so that they can run their tactical birdshot reliably, so you could probably find someone to swap with.

I'm split on the issue. I want an 870 because I've never had one and there are tons of parts available to make it nice and crazy. Novas are a better stock gun, but they don't have much of an aftermarket offering ... I dunno. Sorry, I'm not much help. I'd probably get both, or get whichever you didn't already have. Either will serve you well.

We need bigger pictures! Also, I wonder if "Galt's Guns" is named after some guy named Galt, or if he just really likes Ayn Rand ...

I'm only crazy on the weekends.

Shocking, when you use an oversized, unnecessary follower, combined with a full size (oversize technically) spring, it edges out shell #7! And people always act like I'm crazy when I ask wtf they're doing when they buy an aftermarket follower ...

Agreed, the m4 is meant to be run hard. I have abused mine for 3 years now ... and it has never failed me. Great weapon thus far.

What is the fascination with the OEM tubes? I just don't get it. There are better machined, better finished, widely available extensions out there for 1/3 the price you'll pay for an OEM. Having an OEM tube does not give you a legal leg to stand on, nor does it make your gun any more "factory". I guess a fool and his money ...

Oh, those micro ding things? Nothing to worry about. Certain ammo will beat up your bolt face more than others ... if you've noticed, the gun also gets "chipped" on the ejection port, upper part of the receiver ... the receiver literally gets smooshed out with age and use. Doesn't affect function at all ... it's just the difference between a gun that actually gets shot and one that sits in a safe, like all of member M1014's toys.

Dude, no. You are fine. Your pictures don't show any of the things you inquire about ... ? Either way, the m4 will be fine, dont worry about it ... if it REALLY starts to fvck up somehow, take better pictures and we can assess from there .. but my m4 has 12,000+ rounds though it, has beat up finish everywhere, and it runs like a top.

They do work on all models of m4. He was merely saying they won't work for SBE's and the like.
-
Indeed. It's like saying "why not make them all Cadillacs? Then you wouldn't have any Saturns!" It doesn't really work like that ... different brands for different market segments and target audiences. Plus lots of other reasons.

Thanks for the laugh.

Try for a LMT or Bravo Company m4 upper. There is absolutely no reason not to get 1/7 twist if you have the option. 1/7 stabilizes even 40 grain bullets just fine, and it eats 77 grain SMKs for breakfast. I think you're confused on your terminology ... an "m4 upper" means a 1/7 twist, m4 profile 14.5 inch chrome lined barrel with a T marked flat top receiver, almost always with m4 cuts nowadays. If it isn't this, it's not an m4 upper. My last AR was a LMT m4 upper. It was a great gun, I sold it to a friend so that he'd have a quality m4. Good luck finding any of them in this climate though ... LMT stuff is very hard to find now, because it's the best ...

I've had 10 rounds of door breaching rounds for years ... never tried them. I'll put it on the list.

Thats a real crappy VFG if it's breaking from normal use ...

Weird. I guess they only care about people that can vote?

Yep, modular design means good to go.
