  1. Just get a full tube. If you don't get a full tube now, you will forever want one, and will likely end up buying twice and purchasing one later. If you buy a full tube, you will never want a +2. The grass is only greener on one side of the fence when it comes to full length tubes. Tacstar tubes, in my experience, have been averagely machined tubes that do not match any finish I've ever seen. I haven't looked at them in years, perhaps they have improved their game ... this is not to say that they will not work, but they wouldn't be the first place I looked for quality. But seriously, just get a full length tube. If you're a tightwad, buy a Daves metal works full length tube. They will work, and are affordable. If you want the best for the best shotgun available, get a CarrierComp or SOCOMguy tube. They are worth it, ask anyone who has one. Buy once cry once.

We've been bombarded with eyepod sellers before, so when you type in "byepod" it goes OH SH%T WE ARE UNDER ATTACK MAN THE TURRETS AND START CENSORING! DUH DUH DUH DUH

    Forend Grips

So you do mean a vertical forward grip after all. The two I listed above are the best and most commonly used. Borboro and CQD ones are also seen, but to a lesser extent now. Any vertical grip will be compatible with the TLR-1 ... why wouldn't it be? The grip and light don't ever interact, and you can place either on the rail in the position that you want. Here, because I'm a super nice guy ... http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=209 http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1125 http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=743 http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=599 and if you want to be like M1014 and use a b**** with your shotgun, get one of these. http://www.grippod.com/ Personally, the LaRue is by far the best.
  4. It's true. They may refer or resell Tacstar tubes as their "preferred" tubes, but the tubes are not OEM tubes. The OEM extension tubes are pretty rare now and they no longer sell them to US citizens. What does it mean? I don't know ... it means that you bought an aftermarket tube from the OEM reseller. Question is, why does it matter? A quality tube is a quality tube ... there is no legal reason or any other reason to insist on an "OEM" tube. In reality, in my experience, the aftermarket tubes are better machines and finished anyways ...
  5. I second the motion, all in favor say aye?
  6. M1014 likes to keep them next to his plastic covered couches and his candy dishes that you aren't allowed to take candy from.
  7. Ok, rate my m4. Full length tube and spring, enlarged bolt handle, enlarged bolt release. It must be your wet dream, as those are the three main functional improvements, if you want to call them that.

Larue FUG with the tape thing, or a Tangodown are the two ones that are used the most. I take it you mean a vertical forward grip to put on a railed forend ... if mean a flat forend like the the surefire light models for shotguns like the m1, you're out of luck, and will have to make your own.
  9. I don't know why Benelli changed their barrel profile. I beleive they changed from 4 to 2 gas ports to INCREASE cycling reliability. Again, this was before my time and I don't know specifics, this is only second hand. Call Benelli customer service and demand answers ... they will probably bend over backwards to help you. As far as cycling low recoil rounds ... in my experience all m4s will do that. I don't know why yours won't. My m4 has been shot 11,000 rounds now, and I'd say probably half of those have been #7-#9 bullsh#t light loads for training and target shooting. My m4 eats light loads for breakfast ... it will also cycle almost all "low recoil" rounds, I think I've only found one low recoil brand that wouldn't reliably cycle in the gun, and of course all the stuff that says "WILL NOT CYCLE IN AUTOS" probably won't cycle in autos.
  10. Any heat gun will do. They are cheap, and you only need to get the loctite to just above hair dryer levels to melt it and allow the tube to come free. As far a torque screwdriver ... I have no idea? I think the mesa shell holder with it's new screws should just screw in until snug? But I'm not machinist ... I'm just in before Cleefurd.

Sup bra, m4's (11707s) can still be found NIB for under $1600 at some gun shops. People periodically list on here when a store in their area has a m4 for a good price ... you can contact them and buy it and have it transferred to your FFL for a ~30 dollar fee. Or you can go on gunbroker and bid with the other sheep on a $3000+ exclusive, limited editon, ultra rare used m1014. :\
  12. I was ignoring the vendor chosen and choosing to only focus on the product being reviewed. But yes, Botach has about the worst reputation you can possibly expect to never achieve. Avoid whenever possible.
  13. The 11707 doesn't normally ever come with a skeletonized stock. The recoil tube is just milled to accept a collapsible stock and allow it to collapse. That is the difference between it and the earlier models. The m1014s came with a skeletonized stock, but they didn't have a milled recoil tube. The 11707s have a fixed pistol grip stock and a milled recoil tube. You need both if you want a collapsible stock. Make sense?

  15. Meh ... I hope you like it, but I've passed for a reason ...
  16. No spare parts needed, just get a full length tube and spring and you're good to go. From that point, you can find out what accessories, if any, you want for your shooting style and needs.
  17. The 11707 is the latest generation of m4, it's the most recent revision. You said your stock was non collapsible ... thus I ruled out the 11707, as the 11707 is the only model with a milled recoil tube to allow the stock to collapse. I guess what you meant though is that you have a fixed pistol grip stock, and not a skeletonized non collapsible stock, as I assumed you meant. What does it mean? It means you own the best shotgun in the world. Enjoy it.
  18. Sounds like a good time. I've actually never hunted anything, beleive it or not. All my knowledge and experience, if you want to say that I possess these 2 things, comes from reading, shooting at targets and experimenting with stuff. I've gotten flamed before for stating my thoughts on hunting, so I don't feel like getting into it again.
  19. Hey genius, what gun is it for?

    What is stopping you?
  21. It sounds like a 11701 or 11703. It should say on the end of the box, or you can call benelli and they can tell you based on the serial number (I think anyways). As far as stuff to worry about, no, nothing. Even if you have an old profile barrel with 4 gas ports instead of 2, there is nothing "wrong" with the gun. It's not going to blow up if you shoot it. Benelli just realized somewhere in production that certain tweaks should be made, and thus they were made. All guns that existed prior to those tweaks are not bad guns, they are just not the latest and greatest. If it cycles rounds and you like how it shoots, I wouldn't worry about it. Low recoil barrels are a myth (You may already have the "low recoil" 4 port barrel). The barrel profile on all model m4s is perfectly fine, they just changed shape slightly in later models to better balance weight I beleive. Shoot with confidence, or sell for profit if you'd prefer ... but I'd keep it for sure.

Remind me never to go to Canada.
  23. It fits 6 3inch and 7 2.75 shells, but only with a full length tube. Behold You need to replace your stock neutered tube with a full length one (or get a non-limited extension, but trust me just get a full length tube). That will up your capacity from 4/5 to 6/7 respectively. Talk to SOCOMguy or Cleefurd (Carriercomp) on this board to buy a full length tube, both of them do fine work and have many happy customers. http://shop.carriercomp.com/product.sc?categoryId=4&productId=3 http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16367 Enjoy.
  24. It's a simple, single piece of metal ... how much trouble would you really expect it to give you? So long as it's made to spec and threaded properly, it doesn't really matter what it's made of or who makes it as far as functionality is concerned ... what you pay extra for is shape, finish and weight savings, and to some degree strength and simplicity. That said, I'm sure the tac star's work just fine. I've never seen one in person.

Welcome. I hope you're ready for some recoil, that seems to be the number one complaint I see among new m2 owners. Personally, I didn't think the m2 recoiled any harder than any other inertia gun ... but what do I know. Lube it up and run some heavy rounds through it first, then see if it cycles some trap loads. Let's hear a report
