Maybe true. But why would you want that damage? For me, I want the least amount of gun I need to kill the deer successfully everytime. More meat on the table. If we were able to use a highpowered rifles of deer, I would use .243,.270,25-06.

I shoot 3 1/2 hevi shot #5's for turkey with a .665 carlsons turkey choke. Works pretty well.

Most likely the same ammo. My father-in-law got them 4-5 years ago. You can find them on the clearance rack if your in the right place at the right time.

OK, if your just shooting clays in your back yard then scratch everything and start over. I wouldn't put any money into the gun for that. The cool thing about shooting a full choke is if you can hit it, then you can hit it with a lighter choke. I would but a supernova like you are already planning. The nova comes with 3 chokes already. IC ( improved cylinder), Mod (Modified) and Full. I would use the nova for everything and bring out the 1100 for fun and keep if shiny.

I forgot that you have to measure the recoil pad to and add that into the LOP.

The 5/8oz load would be nice for pest control.

Slug barrel, good luck. maybe you will get lucky on gunbroker. You can shorten the stock, in won't hurt anything. Once you cut, you can't go back. You will also have to go with a slip on recoil pad.
