  1. Doesn't a choke come in the barrel already? All my shotguns came with a choke or (o/u) chokes in the barrel already. If the gun has extra chokes, they came in of the side of the box. novaking
  2. Recoil will be a little "heavy" for skeet and clay shooting. If you don't mind the recoil, the gun would be an excellent all around gun. Novaking
  3. I don't think people understand why the people that use "birdshot" for HD. If I was single without kids,no neighors, or had brick ex. walls, then I would use buckshot no questions asked. BUT I'm not single, and I have kids so overpenitation is a big deal to me. I man on that video was show you walmart 8 shot junk. It does compare to the birdshot I use. I use 1 1/4 4 shot max dram. Is it buckshot. NO. But at the right distance and the right choke it will work. 7 yards or less ( and more likely Less) will be your first chance to fire. Most likely the distance will be under 10 feet. Just think about what would do at 10 feet with a mod. or full choke. It would at least slow you down which would give me time to think. I think the more time you have to think is the most important thing to think about. Not whats in your gun. Novaking
  4. You can go up 2 sizes when shooting hevi shot. #6 would be like shooting #4 steel. Novaking
  5. How is your buddy Pat Morita doing?
  6. I've seen hevi shot blow through geese at 50 yards. ITs all I use for the bigger birds.(turkey, geese, and ducks. Novaking
  7. Hey, welcome. First, you should start a new thread. Your kind of stealing the thunder from the other guy. Second, You bought a tank. 28'' barrel is kind of a bird gun. Can you shoot slugs though it. YES. Can you get a rifle choke for it. YES. You can shoot any type of ammo in the nova. (caliber 12 gauge). Did if come with chokes? which ones? Improved cylinder and modifed nova chokes can shoot steel and lead. Full chokes you can't shoot steel but lead in ok. The 18 1/2 tactical barrel will help only because it as sights on the barrel. Benelli makes rifled barrels for the Nova as well. The only problem you will have with buying a new barrel is it will cost more than the gun. The rifled barrel with be 219-249 and I don't know if you can find a tactical barrel. I'm not one the shoot a slug though a (field barrel) which is what you have. Some people will tell you different and say that its ok. I just don't think field barrels can handle the pressure of a slug. I would say suck it up and spend the money on a rifled barrel. You will be more accurate with this barrel. But I'm just one person. Someone else will tell you different and it won't be the wrong answer their. congrats on your new purchase. Let us know what you do. Novaking

  9. If you can afford a cynergy, BUY A CYNERGY!!!! They are worth the money. If you have $1100. dollars to spend you should easily be able to find her a shotgun that fits. You do get what you pay for. That doesn't mean the more $ is the best way to go. Find what fits and will work the best for her. Novaking
  10. The express is chambered in 3 and 3 1/2.
  11. I have heard nothing bad about the 870 wingmasters. The wingmasters and the 870 express are to different guns.
  12. Nothing wrong with a 391. The few guys I know that went to mexico uses m2. I know that there really isn't a problem with 1100 or 1187's and there not the bottom of the barrel. Just the things I've seen and heard, I just can't own one. Everyone has there favorite gun. I don't own a auto, but I would like to have one. I've shot many auto. I've shot an 1187. I liked the way it shot. I've shot many Benelli's. Love them to. Believe it your not but what you hear and see will keep you (me) from trying something for myself. And what I heard and seen is a lot of 1187 guys have problems with there guns. Maybe there not cleaning them right. I don't know all the details. Novaking
  13. All law enforcement here switched to AR's.
  14. I have a friend that when down to mexico to dove hunt and took 3 1187's and came back with zero 1187's. melted all 3 down. I another guy I know as a 1187 and trashs the gun ( doesn't clean it, use wd-40 in the action and the gun runs great. There kinda hit or miss. ( from what I've seen and heard) Novaking
  15. And if you don't get 3 inch groups at 50 yards, change your slug, get your eyes checked or don't shoot fo far but than gun should get that easy.
  16. Novas afre one piece. Supernovas, you can change the stock and comb. Trigger guard is bigger to.
  17. It looks good. Novas are fun
  18. And I agree with tucker on the savage rifles. They make a new shooter an expert.
  19. recoil might throw off your zero. I saw the picture of your gun (sharp) but I couldn't see who made the red dot. Anyway, start at 15 yards and work back. You will see your groups opening up at you move back. P.S give the barrel time to cool. novaking
  20. I bet that took you all day.
  21. I agree on heavier bullets. I have a 9mm. Its what I have. I would like a .45 but I have kids to pay for. I think what I and others are trying to say is you have to work with what I have. I can't buy an m4 right now and I can't choot 100's of rounds trying to figure out what to shoot. Some people have a single shot break open 20 gauge. That is all they have. Will it work. Yes. ITS BETTER THAN NOTHING. I beleve you know more about this than me but I think its a little much. I beleve HD is keeping yourself and your family away from danger as long as possible and most of all don't pull the trigger if you don't have to.
